Art was intended in making this film. Money was the reason for making the Hollywood version; cookie cutter production at best, not hand made and full of craft like the original. Let me in is just cashing in on the Vampire trend right now. It's gonna draw attention to the original though so it's ok. Go see the original, it's a masterpiece.

to get this straight I freaking love this movie and book.

but we americans have to remake it i am fine with that but there are a few flaws

1. they changes Eli and Oskar's name to Owen and Abby

what is up with that there a tons of kids with those names

2. They have it take place in New Mexico

The movie and book took place in a place with snow NEW MEXICO DOES NOT HAVE SNOW they could of easily have take place somwhere like Michigan

3. the americans suck at remakes

@thedarknight307 I agree with you about the remakes... but I just wanted to let you know that New Mexico does have snow, especially northern New Mexico. That part of the state is in a high altitude and actually gets quite a bit of snow in the colder months.

In my experience, remakes usually aren't anywhere near as good as the original movies. Hopefully the new remake, "Let Me In," will at least do "Let The Right One In" some semblance of justice. :)

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure the Swedish producers- director etc, weren't expecting a massive success.
