  • what is the name of the song???

  • the muisic would fit even better to an american muscle car :p

  • It's a 4WD car. Why would Launch Control be necessary?

  • NO idea why people where doing this with the VDC you don't turn it off!

  • needs to be lowered

  • Goood song choice

  • LOL have a mate with one of these... 2 Launches later = 40+k for a New gearbox supposedly claimed to be not covered by warranty after they check the black box

  • @SengsouvanhSiri doesnt make sense, the car is approx 75-85k there is no way the gearbox alone is worth half of the cars MSRP. Troll elsewhere please!

  • LOL have a mate with one of these... 2 Launches later and a Voided warranty for turning it on = 40+k for a New gearbox

  • DRESSMANN

  • maybe a stupid question, i am in the market fro a GTR in the next few months and that said dose using Launch Control" void warranty or not

  • SKYLINE

  • BUTTON!!!!!

  • Stupid music

  • gtr launch control= bye bye 20,000 dollar tranny

  • @trento728 Your right its a conspiracy on Nissan's behalf....Are you really that fucking stupid?

  • I wish people would understand, this is not Launch Control, its actually to be used in bad weather when you get stuck. Read up on why they installed that feature, its the dumbass Americans who think its to make the car go faster. its actually made so you can drive it year round no matter the weather. Epic Fail on thinking the GTR has launch control.

  • @adamslurch71 Wow your fucking stupid. The launch control is meant to have a perfect launch every time. You're confusing launch control with VDC. Talking shit about Americas for not knowing their facts when really you're the one who doesn't know shit. hahaha FAILLLLLLLL.

  • @av91921 Wrong try again, you just think that b/c some magazine said that's what it is used for, call Nissan in Japan and ask to talk to their tech department and they will tell you that it is only to be use to help get the vehicle unstuck and if it is used in dry conditions that they cant be responsible for the damage it will cause. It is only one of many parts of the VDC system so try finding all the information before you make yourself look like a moron. Good-bye.

  • My Gosh - there has to be a pop-up manual on the dashboard when you want to use the launch control of the GT-R :D "Start the Engine - Check/ Pres X and X buttons at the same time and hold them for 1-2 secs - Check/ Now press and Hold the other one right next to them :D..." Is it so hard to make it like a small button near the Ignition button?!?!

  • Using 'launch mode' no longer voids the warranty

  • @SMRTtrains Mine LC2 does not void the warranty

  • @SMRTtrains It never did.

  • @SMRTtrains LOL

  • @SMRTtrains wow you were actually serious... i thought this was a joke. it really voids the warranty if you turn vdc off.... thats creepy

  • And you sir, just voided your warranty!!! good luck getting those 20 grand! ;)

  • If you guys didn't know, the first 6 months after GTR's launch it didn't void the warranty if LC was used, I used to use it all the time OR this is probably a 'test car' or something.

  • Comment removed

  • @IIZODIIAC one dude launched 2 times and smash goes the tranny would you have 20000 for a tranny if they didnt fuck with that auto piece of shit and through in a 6 speed manual it might have lasted

  • So many jealous trolls here, It's juvenile and pathetic. GT-R is the ultimate best-buy supercar. Beats Porsches that cost twice as much and Ferraris that cost four times as much. With a V6. And four seats.

  • hmmmmm he can afford the car im sure he can afford the transmission

  • @cognito01 20 grand fuck hell it only cost 70000 thousand for the car

  • @tengauged every single transmision is different engine two! every single thing is unique the one kazinory yamanouchy whatever had 487 bhp the that autocar UK had 503bhp! every single thing diffrente if your transmion breaks you can't switch you have to buy the completle!

  • the time you need to use to switch your 6 buttons and the fake gearstick to start your car for your mega launch control i'm far far far away even with my 90hp volvo.....

    electronic sucks...

all actual cars are made of plastic and looks like suppositories...

  • YOU PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS... NISSAN DOES NOT VOID THE WARRANTY BECAUSE YOU USED THE LAUNCH FEATURE. WORK A LITTLE HARDER A GET ONE TO FIND OUT.

  • @Racers1600 obviously you dont own one like the rest of us losers on fucking youtube because if you did you would def be driving it right now and learn how to atleast write shit thats readable you mother fucker

  • Do you really even need it for the GTR considering it is 4wd which helps with traction when taking off anyway?

  • @graysonator123 there r several reasons to use launch control, warranty is major one.

  • hes got an R35, no i dont think it does 'suck to be him' actually.

  • what happens if you put the launch control in race mode rather than switching it down

  • You can buy a Hyundai and get a 10 yr transmission warranty ... one way or the other the warranty goes away in couple yrs. You can babysit the car and don't use launch control even though it's a feature to ENJOY your warranty or you can ENJOY your car and say fuck the warranty ...

  • @tengauged

so it has to break as a result of using launch control?.. or say... i use the launch control today.. then the next day its breaks whilst i`m drivign normally

  • I wish my GMC SYCLONE was that easy to Launch!!

  • is the launch control basically brake boosting??

  • @hottsauce808 no. brake boosting, anti-lag, and launch control and all different things.

launch control is self explanatory: to get a good launch with the perfect amount of power applying to the wheels

  • If something breaks in the GT-R while you have VDC off you're outa luck... though if you launch the car several times and something breaks once VDC is back on it's under warranty... the car basically has a black box that will let the dealership know if VDC was on/off when something happened.

  • Launch control off is transmission warranty VOID only if the car is upgraded to 2k launches.

  • How is launching going to void the warranty? The car comes with the feature of being able to launch, you should look into the car before commenting.

  • @dorado902800 it's true though.

  • @dorado902800 actually in the fine print if something does happen to the car and Launch Control was used, even once, they refer to it as "race abuse" and tell you to find somebody who will fix it for you , out of your own pocket... Or you could send it to the japanese who built it , $40,000 all in with shipping and whatnot..

  • MAN if i had that everytime a girl gets in the car, id start pressing all these buttons and be like ya ... this is just like flying a plane... you like? hahaha

  • By the time you press all these buttons and throw all these switches that pesky LS7 ZO6 has put 14 miles on your ass. I love the GTR. Amazing what a few mods can do to them but you better have your shit ready if someone rolls up on you. I read that if your in auto mod in 6th gear and floor it, it will not shift below 4th gear so you have no pull until the car builds more boost.

  • only 1 percent of the gtrs broke the transaxels doing this 100% of camarys might kill you if you hit the brake and accelerator

  • should be renamed from launch control to warp speed.

  • That launch wasnt even that hard?

  • Ha ppl are dumb. Nissan can NOT figure out if they have used the launch feature or not. A cars computer only stores the last 30 min of driving so if you have to take it in for work dont do a launch. You ''youtubers'' are just dumbass kids that no nothing.

  • @MrButterflyking you apparently know nothing this car has a "black box" that can tell you whats been done to the car regardless of time so as soon as those lights go red your warranty go void

  • @dankebuddha Not if you get a tune bro..

  • @MrButterflyking the black box is separate from the computer similar to the air plane's box you cant trick it

  • launch control ??? what does it do and why not use it?

  • @godsephro makes the car launce harder with less traction control interference and if you use it your warranty is void and when the tranny goes out it's 20k for a new tranny

  • I dont know why people is saying " I wouldnt do that too often". My buddy has a 09 R35 with a HKS 570 Kit and he bashes it all the time and its absolutely nothing wrong with the car. This car was made for hard launches and getting bashed on

  • I wouldn't do that too often buddy : )

  • with new launch control the gt-r rev to 3000rpm while with old rev to 4500rpm before to start....

  • lol, and i think that is in whittier it looks like it

  • Nissan have now set a update if you want to call it where you can launch at 3k rmp without killing your warrenty. Great idea Nissan. Launching at 3k wont hurt the tranny. Thanks Nissan!

  • Very nice car man(:

  • gay electronics

  • MUUUSIC PLEASE?????????

  • why is there this stupid music?? please remove the song!

  • All that work just to lauch and breaks the tranny in the process. Why do it?? I dont get it.

  • LOL that was like launching a space shuttle when he was flipping all those buttons!!

  • too bad is so ugly

  • Warranty VOID!

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 why is his transmission warranty voided now? is he not allowed to use those adjustments? thanks

  • @tinfoilandy Yes. Warranty becomes void when you use launch control.

Its pretty ridiculous since you don't get to use a feature that Nissan knew the car had ... and yet you still have to pay over $80K for the car.

Nissan took a lotta shit for it due to the warranty problem so they Removed the option to use launch control in the NEW GT-R's...

According to ppl that have driven the new 1, the car is slightly slower.

    But WTH do I care ... GT-R --> FTW!!

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 Actually the 2010 GTR still has the launch control but uses a much stronger dual-clutch transmission and improved vehicle acceleration with the VDC on so there is no problem anymore. Also the braking system has been updated for much stronger braking and better durability..

  • Comment removed

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 why is his warranty void?

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 why does his warranty gets voided if he uses launch control??

  • @dontknow95 with the 2010 model it doesn't apply, but in the pre 09 models if you disengaged traction control or used launch control Nissan would void your warranty... When buying the car you sign a waiver saying you are aware that the warranty is voided because using launch control is extremely hard on the clutch and if done a number of times it can be destroyed ($2000).. Basically Nissan is protecting themselves from having to pay for hundreds of destroyed clutches!

  • @FerrarisRock

It this the case also with Porsche semi-auto transmissions and with VW's??

or does this only apply to Nissan??

  • @Koruephiroth

Or better to say.. is it just becasue the car is in auto mode?

Whereas if he put it in "manual" he wouldn't have to do with all of this...??

    I'm kinda confused...

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55

forgive my noobness... why is his warranty void?

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 why is that?

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 no its not only when you take the traction control off the minute you do that then your voided but heres the good news for all those faggots thinking off your tranny is not covered it only cost up to 1800 to fix a gtr transmissions so don't buy the hype with all these losers talking avoid warranty because they can't find any other flaw losers..

  • @IDKWHOITWAS55 dude that comes stock on the fucker you fuck

  • @xXxG3T0WN3DxXx still voids the warranty if you use it

  • @Kegath explain how they even know if you touched it for one and for two they cant put a setting on a car and make it void the warranty if you use it BS thats illegal my friend

  • @xXxG3T0WN3DxXx all of them had blackboxes (like in a plane) installed in them that record when different features were used. you also sign waivers when you pick up the car saying you wont use it or risk voiding your warranty.

  • haha there goes his transmission warrenty hahaha suks to be him

  • @nathan2747 yeah I bet it sucks to be a guy owning a GT-R :P

  • @atomi50 hi howcome the warranty on the GTR is void when the launch control is used

  • @signeduplate Hey , it's said that nissan voids your warranty if launch control is used repeatedly In the owners manual it says that "launch control" should be used only to get the car if you get stuck in mud or snow. You have a video here on youtube where guy from Nissan explains this confusion

  • @nathan2747 why does it suck to be him

  • @rosanoisapimp It doesnt hes just jealous he couldnt afford a car like that... The only way to not get problems with the GTR's transmisson for the 2008 models is by switching the VDC on when using launch control but the problems been solved for the 2010 versions. :-)

  • @masonizere thanks for the info i hate when people post confusing comments

  • @nathan2747 There was only a few problems with the 2008 Base Model GTR's thats happend if you use launch control with the VDC switched off but with it on you wouldnt get problems. The 2010 GTR's have a much stronger dual-clutch transmission and improved vehicle acceleration with the new Vehicle Dynamic Control. In addition, the braking system has been updated with more rigid brake lines for improved durability.

  • @nathan2747 what are you talking about? thats exactly how the manufacturer advises to use the launch control. sheesh. what are you, american?

  • @ajegray1 its so awesome you can substitute american for loser and every one still knows what you mean.

  • @nathan2747 not just the tranny but the whole car warranty is gone

  • @nathan2747 actually no, he owns a GTR.

  • @nathan2747 If you are to care so much about that warranty go buy a regular toyota dude! He has his money to afford his stuff man!

  • @EpiMuzik only comes auto

  • tool

  • Datsun have had so many problems with Launch control and broken drive transmissions and clutches its now discontinued on all new models from 2010 onwards. On the other hand, Porsche 997 gen2 Turbo warranties the clutch and transmission in their PDK turbo with Launch control. German engineering says it all.

  • well guess what...datsun doesn't exist at all!!! porsche are for cocks!!! >8O

  • what datsun had launch controle?????

  • Cuz there isnt one.

  • LEARN HOW TO LAUNCH A CAR

  • because there is no manual on its only auto

  • There is not manual version.

  • Lauch controll isnt practical. By the time you're done setting it, I'll be on the next traffic light. Its a gimmick, and not to mention how bad it is for the AWD drivetrain.

  • its not launch control actually, its meant to escape from low traction situation like stuck in mud or snow.. the new 2010 update does have launch control with lower 3000-3500rpm launch and u can use it without setting it up..

  • it is not meant to get you out of snow or mud, thats a stupid excuse for having a weak gearbox. We all know when you get stuck it is better to be slow, gentle and light on the throttle not launching like a mad man from 4000rpm, that won't get you anywhere. You don't see Range rovers and other 4x4's having "launch control" to get un stuck because thats not how you get un stuck..

  • there is no launch controle , it is a snow and gravel mode, its in the owners manual . that borg warner box is a great trans , but they all have limitations and in a way its a tribute to the fact that the motor can over torque a awd trans..stock..LOL. the bet launch is had by just holding the brake and gas and dropping the brake at 3500rpm . the mode selection also has nothing to do with the throttle input in that mode. if you floor a 4x4 enough from a dig with real tires somethings gonna break

  • @twistymcslide Well- you floor the new 997 turbo or new 997 turbo S as many times as you like, it has a launch control as standard on pdk cars, and yes - it carries a FULL warranty. I loaned a car and lauched it at least 30 times in one weekend. They told me - go ahead launch it as much as you like, it won't break, it not a Datsun. That's German engineering for you. And if the Datsun has no Launch control why the title of this video we've commented on?

  • the 997 has launch controle. since it does its engineered for it ( meaning its goverened by the ecu and the trans knows whats going on when activated ) the GT-R's setting was confused for a launch controle ( though its clearly stated in the owners manual) . since peopel are stupid and dont read the manual , the mode was thought to be launch controle be cause it has a pre set rpm where the throttle will get to 3500 rpm or so and stay at that rpm , when you let off the brake it launches hard .

  • @twistymcslide What will the new Turbo S do with the Datsun GTR? Will be interesting to see that up against it. I'll say it again - Porsche is just teasing you Datsun boys.

  • heres the deal , if you can afford the porsche go for it , but understand a stock GT-R is $80k , and for the price differance / or if a GT-R owner the differance in price on for aftermarket , your no competition . next , the GT-R has way beter suspensio nad tires and wheels and brakes... look into a video called R35 vs 997 tsukuba . this is oem vs oem . so im sorry , but your wrong again . not only does the GT-R start from behind , but finishes ahead. by far....the S will be a fun car.

  • @twistymcslide Thanks for the comments on my son - that was his first drive in that kart - he's come a long way since then - he's 5 years old on Tuesday and has a new kart as a surprise! Regarding the Turbo - I have had 10 turbos and currently run a 600bhp techart 997 manual. I cancelled my pdk turbo to wait for the S, so it better be worth it! I will not have it tuned though - feel I have sort of spoilt my latest turbo by tuning as its sometimes too powerful.

  • i hope he loves it , its not only important as a training tool for when hes able to drive real cars, but it can be an imense influence on confidence and setting goals and accomplishing them .techart's are amazing . dont have hands on with them but deff an appreciater . the GT-R is as close as ill get to owning a supercar . i build race cars and do restoration , but im a diehard NISSAN fan, built the first VH45DE v8 ( president engine)powered 240sx in the states with a 5spd. search: the 450sx

  • There are lots of reports of the gearbox failing. If Datsun are going to cut corners by not giving the GTR a gearbox that can handle the power then this is what is going to happen. Datsun was always rubbish and of a poor quality, they still cant get it right. And as the other guy said, you don't get this problem with a Porsche. Thats what happens when you buy a QUALITY product. under that not very attractive body it is still a DATSUN.

  • the gearbox failures are from ignorant people who didnt read the manual and see that the mode they thought was a launch controle wasnt . hence breakage of certain peoples cars. and nissan for the $ makes an awsome product. that goes for the whole line of cars. also , the rest of what you said is opinion , and if you dont liek the GT-R , why are you so cencerned . and its NISSAn , hasnt been datsun since 83 . porsche is 2x more $. have fun with that , ill take a gt-r and use it correctly

  • no its not from ignorant people, theres only one launch control button and if you use it even once you WILL void your warranty. you can say what you want but thats the gtr's biggest downfall , nissan even makes you sign a waiver stating that if you use the launch control on YOUR 80 thousand dollar car you void you warranty and thats after you legally commit to the car witch is some scumbag shit to pull if you ask me... theres no way around it man its the car not the people

  • whats ur deal with our porsche's you ignorant prick?

  • WOW!!!!!That's FUCKING FASTER THAN THE Porsche Motherfuckers!!!!!!

Porsche, just eat fucking SHIT!!!!German jerkoff fucking scumbags!!!!!

  • yeah in the owners manula it says that...haha

  • Don't use launch control...it messes up the gtr transmission and you won't get it fixed because by using it you void your warranty...use launch control under your own risk...

  • can any1 use the launch control w/out turning the vdc off??

  • no you have to turn off VDC in order to initiate launch control...but the new 2010 model will still have launch control but instead of holding the engine at 4500 rpm it will decrease it to 3000 rpm to protect the gearbox...

  • Ok..but what about the warranty issues when turning off the VDC on the 2010 model??

  • Yeah your still going to have to use it under your own risk because the warranty will still be voided if you turn off vdc...

  • Now I know...thanks a lot buddy!

  • You have a gtr or what...

  • My brother owns one...we have never tried using the launch control because of the tranny and warranty issues...but we have tried to launch the car with the VDC on R(race) mode and the car is still quick!!!

  • Yeah that probably the best way to launch it without having the warranty voided...

  • Of course in reality it was never a "launch control" according to Nissan's top brass. The only reason you should turn off VDC is to get out of deep snow or mud.

  • this car is amazing and the price is excellent... in the car review done by topgear this car got an incredible place in their list of fastest cars... the video is here in you tube look for it in the videos of topgear channel

  • dude

the transmission thing is old now

they fixed it with lowering the rpm, stop searching for arguments why this car should suck

it was chosen as 2008's best car by some magazines, there is a reason for that

  • People who cannot afford a car read one article and suddenly think they are automotive engineers, and want to talk about the transmission, etc. I'll bet half of the people who "predicted" the trasnmission would be a weak link have never even changed the oil in their Mon's Camry!

  • The GT-R Owner's Manual EX[RESS;U warns against driving with the VDC OFF (except to free the vehicle when stuck in mud or snow) to avoid damage. Repeated acceleration launches with VDC OFF have resulted in some reported instances of damage to the transaxle. Repairs for damage caused by driving with VDC OFF are expressly excluded under the terms of the Nissan GT-R New Car Limited Warranty. Except when stuck, there is no reason to drive with VDC OFF.

    RTVM! Read the f***ing manual!

  • true it is fast..but no one is really trying to go that fast.and at 100-120k for a nissan.. with the dealer mark up you gotta be nuts..it's ugly as hell too.. and you said american cars.. the zr1 is much faster and a much better car all around. for 120 i could have a zr1 loaded.. i could be at 911 turbo price range. that car is soul-less compared to it's german counterparts and the zr1. 911 gt3, 911 turbo, zr1, r8, z06 ..and people pay an extra 20-40k over sticker for a nissan.

  • All new HOT cars come to market with dealers charging a PREMIUM! The GT-R was no exception...but now and for months past a GT-R can be had for MSRP and less in some cases. I got mine new for MSRP of $73,540...No car in the world compares for that price and no car will for years to come! I have the sickest car in the world that beats most cars but one...the ZR-1...on every playing field. And yes, the GT-R is ugly, but I love it!

  • It beat most cars in its price range. There are cars much better then the ZR1. THe GTR is good for what it is. I'm thinking of buying one this June.

  • congrats you just voided your warranty on jap crap!!!

  • the same jap scrap thats capable of doing a 0-60 faster than 90% of american cars.

    just a thought. :D

  • what a biased statement...

just a thought... not all cars are made to go fast... so of course you can find one car that's faster then 90% of cars from a whole country...

  • a smart guy we have....

obviously i was talking with regard to go-fast cars. i like american cars, i just dont like this bollocks jap scrap mindset some of the us has.

    to golfnt67...

they built the zr1 in response to the gtr im sure. the spec v gtr still isnt out yet sonny jim.

and youre calling a gtr soulless in comparison to a german car.

    wut?

  • the zr1 was being designed for a while, gm called if the blue devil. It wasnt necessarlily designed to take on the gtr, if it was it would have been cheaper, its made to take on all the supercars in the world.

gtr fan or not, you have to admit they did a hell of a job making a car that can best cars worth 3 times as much.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had something else up their sleeve for the spec-v which will be a very close race with the zr1 indeed.

  • course the zr1 is a beast of a motor, and its the ultimate budget supercar for americans.

but it aint to my tastes....but then again i aint driven one. :D

  • lol thats why the r35 gtr is the quickest car round the nurburgring ever and probably will be for a long time it is quick as fuck on the straight and goes round corners like no other vehicle so i dont understand why you say it would be a close race to the plastic zr1 when the whole world already knows the gtr is better in every way

  • the gtr isnt as quick on the ring as the zr1....

  • ok my mistake the zr1 is 1sec quicker, and for its price that is amazingly quick, but its still very plasticy and very ugly, and there are quicker cars round the nurburgring and the fastest being the radical sr8 which is british.

  • but the radical isnt even street legal in north America so for here the fastest you can drive on the street is the acr... although it was a tuned acr... not "ricer tune" aka modified, but it had its areo and springs adjusted for the lap

also notice the 4 different times for the gtr... who knows which one if any are 100% correct, and the zr1 was tested by gm...

it should be more exact standards then that to really compare anything fairly

  • well unfortunate for you about the radical because it is street legal everywhere else in the world. aswell why say "ricer tune" when a skline r34 gtr or toyota supra or mitsibushi evolution are far from ricer cars and potentially r34 skline is the quickest car in the world out of a 2.5 straight six, i even have the magazine with the fastest street legal skyline figures are as follows:

    1280bhp

    0-60 = 2.5 sec

    1/4 mile = 7.67

    0-188mph= 7.67

    top speed 247mph

    and thats a r33

    from 2004

  • i meant ricer tune as puttin on/ changing parts, which is not tuning it modifying, tuning is setting the car up after it was modified.

for instance for the acr the adjusted the spring height, dampers, aero angles etc. that is tuning

  • It wasn't a tuned ACR.

Just because the ACR comes stock with an adjustable suspension doesn't mean it isn't stock.

The Viper ACR is the worlds fastest production car on Nordschleife. Considerably faster than anything else.

Its also the worlds only 600HP car for under 100k.

  • it was tuned, the suspension was set up for the track, not the way dodge sells it, to be fair a car should be 100% the way the factroy makes it, tires and all.

  • there are companies making gear sets for the gtr, ppg from australia is one of them and i think animal house racing.

I think the gtr is a good car and you dont always have to launch the damn thing to run a low 1/4 mile time

  • yeah keep using LC and when your tranny breaks make sure post that video too. When they fix the problem i'll respect the new GTR until then i'll shit talk it every time some fanboy starts foaming at the mouth

  • is the european gt-r coming out with a fixed LC system or any other improvements ?

and how fast is the gt-r without LC on 0-60 ?
