It does help to show em a live coon they get pissed and eventually senses kick in and they become coon dogs with a little help lol except for those shot eater ones who won't even get 5 feet from the coon and run away lol

i have a bluetick and a walker coonhound mix. shes starting to get old, but without a doubt she is the smartest dog i have ever known so far. we got so lucky when we found her.. not a lot of coonhounds in california =/

What is the difference between a coon hound and a bluetick coon hound?

I have bread and trained coon dogs for 15 years. This is not the best way, give the coon a big wooden box to get on top of or a place for it to hide from the dogs. Make the dogs think.

many of our ancestors lived by their coondogs, the dog was what determined if the family ate, and got the skins for winter clothes, i dont live by my hound, but we keep the spirit alive, and keep the overpopulation to a minimum, coons can carry some nasty diseases if left to breed non stop.
