  • What was that soul drumnbass at the start of this video.

    I like it.

  • excellent many thanks (do the same peeps always hit the dislike button no matter what the video is??)

  • buena brother, excelente tuto, gracias.

  • LOL. *Of course* it syncs up to your beat. Since its samples get triggered by note events. which obviously are timed properly. That’s what those ramps → ∕ ← are. N00b.

  • I don’t get how people call putting ready-made loops together “making music”. That’s like making Kraft Mac&Cheese and saying “I’m a chef now”.

No you’re not. Everyone can put some pre-made stuff together. A 4 year old child can do that.

If you’re not making the pattern and melody yourself, you don’t get to call yourself a professional musician.

  • How are the hip hop patterns in Stylus? Are there any decent rolls and flams?

  • Nice vid, but I don't see the big deal about this plug-in. So you open it up, test out some kicks and pre-made percussion loops. When you find some you like, drag them into the project window and you're done. Surely that can't be the crux of the plug-in.

  • @controllerbrain Thats what I thought until I started to use it. But once you get it, then wow! You can really mangle sounds up with it. Has got great fx which can be automated, can use it as pure drum machine, great for remixing etc etc etc.Im still finding new stuff you can do wit it. It owns. Get your self a copy of Omisphere and Trillian and you ll never use any other plug ins again.

  • hey dude rly dig ur vid, its been much helpful. i only have one question

i created a midi track 01 for a kick sound like you did, and when i transfer kick loop from stylus i get no sound at all. do i have to somehow adjust my midi track to a vsti instrument or something ? thanks in advance :)

  • i have installed 2 dvds...then how to start....didnt find any exes!!

what is this vst i need??

  • haha bro! Mutt playin in the background..

  • @TheDoorsI really Mutt? which tune is it? i cant find it :-/

  • @Tomikk86 Mutt - Advance Money with Davis James on their promo mix :)

  • What kickdrum did you use? Is it included in the library of this application?

  • why do people brag about pirating? it's like teenagers who brag about how they stole a t-shirt from walmart. you sound stupid.

  • Hey man, GREAT VID .. i'm on the brink of gettin this m*thaf*k*

    but I have to ask..

is there a lot of decent r&b / hip hop kits or sounds with Stylus..

I mean .. stuff i'd be happy to use right off the bat?

    thanks!

    ps. subscribed

  • @jclittrel get it. Tons of sounds. I hardly use the massive collection of "Groves" which are the preprogrammed beats, however there is also a MASSIVE collection of individual sounds like Kicks, snares, bongos etc. You can mix those down on an audio channel and change them to sound like something you like. Or just use them raw right outside of RMX. This program is highly recommended and so many people use it.

  • @JJRocco honestly I am SO close.. I was talking to tech support and they say that any midi pattern can be dropped into Omnisphere to create an envelope, not just Sylus patterns. Is this true? Have you tried using non-stylus patterns?

  • @jclittrel Get it. You know I do music I guess part time and i've only covered the the presets and some of the advanced features. However did you see the vidz spectrasonics has up? Just google spectrasonics video tutorials. I'm pretty sure if support says you can drag/drop midi patterns into Omni, i'm sure you can. They're straight up and don't bs

  • Thx dude, you helped me!

  • see ya later Arpeggilator

  • Lol did he say Arpeggilator?

  • @leddguitar lol shuddup. :) I was new to the game at the time of video creation ;)

  • What cubase is he using? Im thinking of grabbing cubase 5 studio DAW Software. Any thoughts?

  • for what is that stylus ?? is it like a drumsampler or something in that way ?

or is it more simliar for example to the dr. rex from reason ... ?!

  • @WaldebeatZ It basically gives you thousands of "grooves" rhythms, beats, instruments already in some form of musical composition. It allows you to modify the timing and style of different grooves its capable of playing. Its just an amazing vst. Checkout spectrasonics website. They have plenty of demos to help you to better understand.

  • @JJRocco thank you much !

  • Great video, could you please tell me the name of the song from the intro?

  • @Beefwellingtonn I forgot, i'm looking for it now. Will let yo uknow when I find it.

  • @Beefwellingtonn god yeah i love that tune, only heard it a few times before

  • @amplex1337 Yeah, it's fucking killing me that I can't find it.

  • @Beefwellingtonn I second this. Please let us know!

  • so wait u have to open a new instance of stylus as many times for each track?

wouldnt that take up a lot of CPU opening that many? there's not a way to open one that have it output different mid channels?

  • great vid, rocco

  • @MANGSCHEUONiCS Thanks, much more to come in the next few weeks!

  • @MANGSCHEUONiCS thanks homes

  • is this work with fl studio

  • @upNyaBizznizz Thanks for the backup on this point. If I never used Cubase3 as a pirated version I would have never bought the full version. I couldn't afford it when I first was interested in music. The price of software is extremely high for most artist and I wish more people had exposure to software so they can let their creativity free.

  • @JJRocco I completely agree with you, sir!

  • @groovizm thanks

  • @JJRocco Well I don't know about that I know when I was 17 I purchased my first hardware ( MC 505 ) back then it was worth 2 grand ! took me 5 months to save up .... So I disagree I think software is fair price for what it offers and as long as that person saves up !! you will be able to buy it . I don't like it how Kids Torrent FL Studio and Nexus then say " Oh look at me now " Sorry can't stand (Romplers) where is the creativity in that ?

  • @SimplisticSalvatioNI Well good for you. Not everyone could make that money at your age. You must be awesome. It doesn't matter if you're not making money off it. If some kid wants to get his hands on software he can't afford he should be able to. The minute he makes a dime off it he needs to pay his dues.

  • @jamaalspeights so if a kid can get his hands on some car keys he should take that car and when he has the money HE?She will buy it then ? where is the logic in stealing ?

  • @SimplisticSalvatioNI LOL SimplisticSalvatioNI, you're missing the point. Software and cars are two totally different things. Really take the argument some place else. Whats done is done. I pirated music software because I couldn't afford it. But because of it now I have a full music studio and I paid for everything. As a software developer myself I Would rather kids take my shit for free and pay me for it latter if they decide to make money off it. Thanks for the comments. Bye

  • @JJRocco you should Email Mark from Spectrasonics and tell them how they should work !! Maybe they will understand ripping them off is ok because you may pay them back .... See how that works out for yeah :) As for me I will buy my products because its the right thing to do ....

  • @SimplisticSalvatioNI Are you fucking retarted? Did you not read that I have my own music studio now all with software I paid for? Listen man take your problem someplace else. I want people to learn RMX. And I have contacted Spectrasonics, to get my serial key for software I bought. Last warning before I block you.

  • @JJRocco you can block me a deleted my messages if you like I don't really care ... I understood what you said but your still stealing a product even if you where going to buy it later on ... Massive people steal Vsts all the time and never pay them back !! So no I am not "retartarted" I strongly disagree with using pirated software ! So now go ahead a block me I know you need to do this now ...

  • @SimplisticSalvatioNI Take you self righteous bullshit some place else.

  • @SimplisticSalvatioNI I see it like this, if you do not have the money for the software, you aint gonna be buying it, so if you use a pirated version then no one has lost out as you wasnt able to buy it anyway. If you were not going to purchase the app due to lack of funds how has anyone lost out? Paying hundreds for an app you have not used is very risky, if you use the pirate version then go on to buy the real version the developer has gained a sale whereas they might not have.

  • @SimplisticSalvatioNI What world are you living in? You're about 10 years behind. Do you realise that "piracy" is so widespread now that it's actually creating a lot of that music that you love so dearly? A lot of big artists started out this way (just like a lot of us are doing now). I know this for a fact and could name names. You'd throw up if I told you who they are.

  • Now there are tweakable loops in stylus rmx aswell right?

Can you actually root all the one shots to different mixer channels then?

  • looks alright to fill a beat, personally i think batterys better but this looks cool, thanks for the info man, real informative!

  • Great, apart from the fact that you have H2O's TruEmu running in the background - which is not a problem in the privacy of your own home operating in a non-profit, amateur environment per se, but personally I would have been a bit more discreet especially if you want to teach people how to use commercial software on YouTube. Of course you've purchased all of your VST's I assume? Alternately, select the "auto hide" feature of your task bar to avoid unnecessary attention.

  • @darkstatehk I actually bough cubase4 along with RMX, omnisphere, trilogy and a few other VSTs. I dont need to autohide anymore.

    Thanks

    jj

  • @darkstatehk don't be such a pussy going on about prissy observations and then rattin' out the situation with wasteful power points that nobody but YOU cares about

frankly my dear, we don't give a damn. we are not millionaires!!!

+_+ ee he he...ow! [ MJ says hello from VST heaven ] LMFAO

  • Well I use this plugin but I really dont use the loops... I just use the individual elements to create my own drums cause it has great elements. Cool vid.

  • so this basically a drum loop VSTi. I got Battery 3 and can just use the sounds from Battery to create my own drum rhythm. Loop is always unoriginal. But it's fast though.

  • I agree. I don´t like loops either. It´s OK to use them, but it just doesn´t feel right to me. I love to build my drums from scratch, using individual sounds. Way more original.

So u need a different plugin instance for each drum layer? couldn´t you just use different midi channels for that?

wow, I thought there was more to stylus rmx than this ;P

  • You don't have too. But it is just easier when you have to edit and add effect to it. And I was wrong because Stylus has mostly loops but also a lot of great individual sounds (ex: hit hats, kick, snare,etc.). Stylus is worth every penny and if you want a career in music, you'll need it.

  • i was taking u seriously somewhat till this:

"if you want a career in music, you'll need it. "

    lol

    cmoooooonnnn

  • Hahaha. Alright. That was exaggerating too much. I agree. What I'm trying to say is percussion is very very important in a song. And Stylus provide lots of them.

  • @NathanLee0921 good to beef up your percussion man

  • can u get more samples for this program, like more trance loops?

  • I send you a cuestion please check it out!

    cool video!

  • Absolutely brilliant mate. Thanks for the simple and enlightening video. I have been struggling to find a relatively quick way of creating my beats, RMX seem to offer this. Then I can actually get to the business of making tunes. Cheers Bro, if you ever come to Australia, let me know and I'll buy you a beer.

    Jock

  • Jock,

Thanks for sincere message bro. It really warms my heart to know that when I come visit Australia, i'll have mate to drink with! I wont forget your offer, thanks again for the positive message.

    Take care man

  • No, I didn't know that. Yeah the machine was beast, but not anymore. Time for an upgrade! Thanks for the tip

  • Yea, I actually saw that on another tutorial by a guy named SF Logic Ninja. He did a tutorial where he used RMX for about 6-different parts. He didn't have to open up other instances. He just put it in multitimbral mode and used different midi channels to play one instance of RMX. This might just be a logic option though ;).

  • Yeah, I just got a mac and have always heard so much goodstuff about logic so I will be migrating later this year when I get into my "music phase". I feel you on battery. So many sounds but laying down the beats can be a pain in the ass. In the future I wouldn't mind trying Battery with Renoise.

  • As basic as this is, I know some guys out there are gonna wanna know how you set up your tracks and how each one is assigned to each seperate out put of the Stylus. Good introductory insight. though.

  • Word, i'll do a more in-depth vid one day ^_^ thanks tho

  • thx bro for this video u are hero !

  • anytime man

  • how much did that cost man i can you sing your own song on this music maker or is it just beats please respond

  • I think RMX was around 350. But i'm sure you can find it for cheaper. You probably could do vocal arrangements with RMX but it's mainly for making beats.

  • Ive done the same as this guy in the video and Mine plays all the instruments through one midi track for some reason!?!? anyone have a clue whats goin on ? , lol help :(

  • Hey BassLinsss sorry I didn't not respond sooner. The reason is probably something to do with your midi Channel. If you have drums from RMX playing on channel 1, and snares playing on channel 2 in RMX, you must set the associated channels in your sequencer. If you had another VST like I did. Make sure it's on a channel that isn't being used by RMX. I hope I am clear!

  • Thanks from Spain! it helped me

  • Thanks, Is helpful.

  • Thanks! Thanks! thanks!

  • You are welcome welcome welcome!

  • good job, man. good intro. thanks!

  • Thanks for this.

  • It gets more complicated then that!

  • Word. Mr J Jrocco is so right.

  • stylus is more like a tool for inspiration

  • Dude...this program rocks. It's far more than that.

  • h2o !

  • If I was doing it for money it would be a different situation!

  • illegal cubase-user, h20 dongle ;-)

  • ha nice catch

  • With Fruity Loops 7 in ReWire Modus its 3 Times faster! :) Listen in the left SamplePool (Sample-Cds required)! If you find a Loop usefull, right click and insert as a Fruity-Slicer! It plays direktli in the Main-Speed of your Master-Clock! :)

  • you need to turn the music up!

  • I wouldn't say the core library offers a "huge" selection; but it is a good starting point. The SAGE expanders and creating your own samples (then Recycled and SAGE converted) make for better sounds within RMX.

  • Thanks for the vid man, you really put RMX into context and it inspired me to buy it :)

btw did you make the intro song? its amazing!
