the thing i love abt the show,is that when theyre on a mission somewhere,usualy they do shoot on location or somewhere alike.unlike shows like 'Alias' for instance they state it its in hongkong and put clips of the city's ariel view on the beginning,bt then cut into a nightclub or a studio where they put asian actors in it and pretend like theyre in a club in hongkong.i notice this on most other shows as well.but i see The Unit really does shoot on location all over the world.

I like the episode ,but was mortified by the use

of a WW2 sub for South Korea.

The Korean Navy have a decent sub- Modern German type 209 and could have been represented by some quick CGI

Anybody who googles South Korean Navy,will know -this is sad cause the Computer graphic s work has been the biggest let-down on this show. A $3 million dollar budget ,With student film level visual effects.

Newhall ,california doesn't always pass for Afganistan without REAL mountains.

But they explained that they use that sub particularly because it is old and its signature can be mistaken by sonar for something other than a sub....

Roger That, I suppose. But it would be so noisy,it would have drawn attention to itself anyway.

Unit Its one of my fave shows, Usually in Hollywood they have to tailor the story to what props/ locations are available (low budget, time)

They may have had the U571 sets..I know we used some Crimson Tide set pieces / footage on Crash Dive " (1997)

The UNIT is a great show. David Mamet is a genius. The show would have been boring with just missions, but the duality of the family "unit" as well, gives it episodic value. Thank you to Mamet and Eric L. Haney.
