Really good. I don't think Gervais is right though. I don't think Hitler liked Chaplin at all, but he was aware of how loved Chaplin was around the world - hence the moustache-stealing.
@NeaFrea Hitler actually liked "The Great Dictator". I've read many biographies from his closest friends, and I think it was Heinrich Hoffmann who wrote that Hitler loved the film. He thought that Chaplin misunderstood national socialism due to the anti-propaganda, and didn't feel "hit" by the satire that much.
Hitler like Chaplin, westerns and Disney. One of his favourite films was Snow White from 1937. He even made drawings of the Disney style Snow White and the Dwarfs.Google it! :-P
@REMnut12 Hitler actually loved Chaplin, but the toothbrush moustache wasn't created by Chaplin and Hitler didn't copy it from him. Hitler had a handlebar moustache during WWI, but that fell out of fashion in the 20's when monarchy had been abolished in Germany (Royalty often wore handlebars). Smaller moustaches became popular in Germany. I think it was a cousin that suggested the style to Hitler. He tried it, and it became one of his trademarks.
yargen! tis mighty good. too much shit about performing arts/greek tragedy/gangsta genres etc. but the half of it that actually RELATES to what i signed up for is fantastic.
the last stand up assessments for the first years starts next tuesday and goes on for 3weeks after that (on tuesdays)

I might not have had first comment but I did get first dibs in watching it :D Loved the video Liam you did an excellent job with the different footage, and all the details you put in about Charlie and Hitler, and the way the world was at the time. Even with something as serious as this you managed to make me laugh, great job! You should be proud, 5 stars and a favorite :) Xxx
This exceptional movie "The Great Dictator" - meant as anti-Germanic propaganda - may be a good example for the Faustian enigma.
FAUST: So, therefore, who are you?
MEPHISTOPHELES: A party to that power that always wills the Evil, and always creates the Good.

@REMnut12
Gervais is fantastic, at least that Sharks & Nazis sketch :-)
I have to admit that I did not see much of his work yet.
Hitler may have been shocked at the authenticity of CCs fantastic speech which exposed his most private thoughts and feelings so aptly.

@Gumbypotty Thanks for your positive response! Rare these days ;-)
And thanks for the info, that 11 moustache is also called handlebars!!!
Do you know the song by flobots? Great lyrics! Watch the original version on myvideo. It's not available on youtube for Germany for example.
There are not many original music videos left in fact .... censorship is increasing by the day.
