  • Hey! I disproved this too! :D

  • Shine your hyundai!

  • what year is that sante fe

  • hey man you should try a lil country justin moore i could kick you ass or craig morgan a little bit of life..they hit pretty good lows and hit hard

  • thumbs for pedobear

  • @skinrider666 i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who noticed it haha

  • 18" are sloppy when u are near them, if you stand far away from vehicle they sound tighter, it's all relative, I'm a sound engineer, nice tho, a combo of 10", 12", and 15", on slightly different crossovers gives the best of all worlds !

  • @top40productions I'e got 1 18" that keeps up really well with alot of different music, all about the enclosure.

  • I used to have 2 400 watt shitty subs and they hit double kicks JUSTTTTT fine

  • Thank you for playing that particular song bro it was EXACTLY wat i needed to listen too rite now.... So again thank you i'm thinkin it was devine intervention that i found this video when i did how funny is that...

  • peedo in the port

  • Right, the higher MMS on an 18" driver will increase the time it takes for the suspension to move back to its resting point, causing distortion and a bit of "delay". A large driver will have a lower FS(partly due to the high MMS), which will affect high frequency response. The larger cone on an 18" driver is more likely to flex and resonate, which causes distortion as well. The chances any of that is actually audible depends on the drivers being used and what environment they are in.

  • I liked this video, I cant wait to see some more, could you discuss how people think not giving speakers there full rms will blow them >_< Drives me nuts, ha ha

  • coo!

  • This has started quite an argument.

For stopping: The spiders and surround in an 18, or larger for that matter, will pull the cone back into its resting position, but not as fast as a lighter/smaller cone; it will bounce a little.

If the cone is light and the suspension is stiff, then it will do a better job stopping and creating less distortion. …cont

  • …cont

In general, large subs can play the same frequencies as smaller subs, but not as fast. If that makes sense. A smaller sub will have an easier time playing the higher tones, and a larger sub will have an easier time playing the lower tones.

  • @ansonx10 that's a myth bro 18's can play everything

  • @BIGGIEDEVIL I know, thus the title of this video. Did you not read my comments? And there's no apostrophe when referring to multiple 18 inch subwoofers. There would be if it was a contraction like "18 is = 18's"

  • pedo bear FTW!

  • Its amazing how people don't want to believe the truth.

  • @BigJayDogg2009

I know right? It's right there! lol

  • What brand of sub is that?

  • well said mr twisted. and im dying to see the 6 crosfire xs build. my friend has 2 and its killer. cant wait to see what 6 of them do :)

  • i agree to a point... there is no way you will get the same sound out of a 32hz box compared to a 45 hz box... i have both boxs with same kind of subs - amps and everything and the sound difference between the 2 is hands down without a doubt different... by alot ! 18's can hit the notes but then again if you have a 10'' and a 18'' that have the same motor , the 10' will have more force and control hands down its pure psychics lol . after seeing this video ima have to make a response lol.

  • @mazda2284 as for a mythbusters you didnt really make a solid point lol... should have a tl out and multiple boxs to prove that your 32hz box double bass kick is louder than a 45hz box .

  • @mazda2284

It has nothing to do with TL #'s and such...of course 45hz tuning will have more "punch" than tuning 32...i was just showing it's still possible to attain the double kick regardless of tuning ;)

  • @mazda2284

Ehh...you missed the point.....i was saying it's still POSSIBLE in a low tuned box with a 18".....and no...if you have a 10" and a 18" in their recommended box size at the SAME tuning the 10" won't "outperform" or have more "control" than the 18"...........

  • @twistedchild420 i think we should get the mythbusters in on this one lol , it would make a great show !

  • @twistedchild420 10 vs 18 , id hope the 18 outperforms lol , but say the drivers have the same motor ''in alot of cases they do'' the 10 would have more control and be faster just do to the shear fact of weight and area lol , you cant tell me that common physics dont play any part in the audio world lol. im not trying to start a argument or anything. just discussing the facts.

  • @mazda2284

Look bro....a speaker is stupid....they do what we tell them.....you can have a 21" ....and if the enclosure is done right it will still have as much "control" as a 10" using the same motor....also like you...just discussing facts....now what will change control is suspension....the type of spiders used...hell even the coil....wish i had a DD 1515 laying around to test against my DD 1508....all in the box bro.

  • @twistedchild420 im not even gonna bother debating this lol , cuz this video is mostly opinion base and not fact lol. we should have the real mythbusters do this 1 lol.

  • @mazda2284

Ugh. All size woofers have the same 'fast' response.

A 6inch woofer is as fast as a 21 inch woofer.

If the 21 inch woofer can play 120hz tones, then why would it be slower? Because it moves 240 times per second.

The spiders 'pull the cone back to it original position

  • @twistedchild420 whoa WHAT a smaller sub has more force behind it compared to a bigger sub the area the mass is harder to control on a big sub and has a more reaction then a bigger one granted the big the sub the louder it will be but the whole good and right sound gos right out the window the bigger you go and i have to agree that the box is very important as well just saying i am not no pro but thats just my 2 cents worth

  • @ronaldlemasters

To avoid typing to much..... i will say i agree with that last sentence ;)

  • Nice video twisted! Thumbs UP!

  • @EXOcontralto

Thanks bro! The internet is Seriouz Biznez! lol

  • bitch's, bitch's you callin me a bitch again lmao

i have to disaggree with your thesis on the 18's MOST 18's can't play that type music that way yours did it does depends on the box but majority of it depends on the motor strengh aslo. if you put that same inclosure with some 10's in it it will be alot more clearer. but good vid nonetheless homie i loved it bro now its my turn

  • I'm using a 15" kicker cvx, and it plays rock better than ANY of the preview 10s, 12s, ands 8s I've owned. What makes a BIGGER difference, is if you are going ported or sealed.

  • Shit I love bangin hip hop and rap on my Fi BTL 18 but I also love playin the Beatles and all kind of different rock and classic rock bands. Sounds good either way!

  • You can't bust myths with your opinion.

I happen to agree with you on 18's being more musical than people give them credit for, but that does not make it a fact...even though it is correct. :P

  • @Deschain420

There ya go...you said it ! Correct = Fact! lol

  • busted

  • Put that nasty cigarette out and fire up a fat J

  • @GTILOUD hellz ya !

  • i love your vids man keep on making them and btw you have a radio voice

  • The problem with tuning a box that low is it has to be way to big.....

  • @MrStangerbanger

    That's not true bro

  • Who ever say 18" are sloppy can't can't afford an 18 that why they can only afford a 8 or 10

  • i think it should be called bass busters

  • it is only the dosen,t 18 responds like a samalleer sub!

  • Comment removed

  • my 18s have no problem tearing up the double bass either

  • little sick there sir lol

  • 20 sa 15s or 6 v.2 18s would tear that shit up, you would defenatly need a windshield brace for any of those options listed... you know how it flexes already, just imagine... are you ready to cut 20 circles?

  • Dude, my 6 18"s play double bass reeal nice!! Just call me a believer ;-)

  • i have broken a myth you cant do a open door shirt trick with two 12"s lol jk just bein a smart ass but killer vid makes me wish i had a couple 18's

  • I BELIVE MAN GET THAT ROCK MAN

  • Yo twisted you should try One by Metallica or any of their double bass songs.

  • I hate when people pull tuning frequency's out of their ass's with zero regard for the overall response curve of a particular driver...

  • @xazax632 true that ! each driver is designed more for certain frequencies than others

  • IA or Sundown "for the win"

  • i like the sticker in the port

  • The only people that say that 18's are sloppy are the ones who are spending way too much time at shitty concerts standing a foot away from a wall of Pyle 18's in boxes that are terribly designed. I get nothing but compliments on the SQ of my twins when people demo them.

  • 18's don't play rock? when you go to a concert or live show what do you think are in thous pa cabinets 15's & 18's

  • @TheBlackReef

    Lmao! Another non believer!

  • @twistedchild420 FUCK THE HATERS! LONG LIVE TWISTEDCHILD! :D :D :D

  • @TheBlackReef all sub woofers are based on the exact same principle just because the cone is bigger doesnt mean the coil when energized wont move in and out of the magnetic field of the magnet(s) bigger cone just needs a stronger magnet

  • @TheBlackReef or the bass makes the camera sound distorted? the sub was obviously playing it, and you cant speak for every 18 out there anyway. so, try again.

  • @TheBlackReef It's the camera idiot.

You know when you go to rock shows? Those giant stacks have 21" woofers...

  • @TheBlackReef that was mic distortion. when people talk about a 18 being sloppy it's a transient response problem often a box design problem. take a 12 & an 18 of the same woofer line the 12 sealed & 18 ported, if well designed the 12 will have a slightly better transient response but the 18 will have lower distortion. distortion increases with excursion and as cone area doubles you only need 1/4 the excursion not to mention the boxes control of the cone at the ports tuning feq.

  • @TheBlackReef , distortion my ass lol

  • im a bitch for bass!!!!!!

  • now you should make one playing some death metal or somethin that has super fast double bass action btw nice vids as always

  • I vote that you try a huge sealed setup for your next build. EVERY system these days is ported.

  • @ansonx10 horrible idea...

  • @dirtbikernick Not if you want bass to sound perfectly true to the waveform.

I'm not against ported boxes, I know they can sound nice if they're done right (which Twisted's is,) but they can't sound as good as sealed. Ports add chuffing. Remember that sealed truck from finals? Everyone loved how it sounded.

  • @ansonx10 if you have a 18 on like 3k, im sure your not really going for SQ,, more for loudness,

  • @ansonx10 ports do not add chuffing/port noise if you give it the proper port area! ported boxes can sound great! you just have to tune low usually to get a flatter response. most prefab boxes are tuned 45+hz and people give a bad rep on them because they are tuned fucking high!

  • @dirtbikernick no its not, its a great idea! sealed is actually alot cleaner and better sound quality, im speaking from past experiences...ported was originally intended for louder bass which is slighty louder than a sealed box not by much..maybe 2 dbs louder...

  • @ansonx10

He should waist his time and money because "every" system is ported these days??? LOOOOOL, Amazing reasoning idiot...

  • @xazax632 I think you just like to "waist" your time trying to change my personal tastes. "Amazing reasoning idiot..."

I simply said I wanted to see a YouTube car audio personality do SQ build for once.

    Thanks @loudkickerman

  • @ansonx10

    umad

You missed teh point brah, Sealed enclosures are gay and dont sound any better than other properly designed enclosures. If thats your preference, then more power to you.

  • i vote for 20 sa-15's cone area is the king :D hella lows :D

  • This shows bass from 18's is just as good, ONLY BETTER!!! GOSH I hate haters.

  • a camera that's the name of

  • "hello people" was a instant lol for me. PEOPLE watch in 720P !

And 18s sloppy... LOLS ... i LOVVEEEEDDDDD the sound of my 18, it actually sount better than my dual 12's set up ! (in a half ass box too...)

the camera does no justice to the bass kicks , i know ur sub can / did do it :)

  • @TylerTron21

    Lulz....thanks bro....you know the deal!

  • It sounded like it was struggling a good bit trying to do the double bass kick, could just be the camera though.

  • @AnythingLoud

Purely the camera bro.....it was precise!

  • @AnythingLoud TOTALY PRECISE!!!!!!

  • you talk to damn much lil more video alot less talk

  • @806bigdaddy

Don't watch then sweety....go watch more Nintendo DS vids if your unhappy here! lol

  • @twistedchild420 you are def right But you also have one of the best in my opinon one of the best sound reproducing 18's dun dun the tc sounds lms5400

  • @806bigdaddy Fgt

  • beasty

  • fuck yea!

  • nice good work on the video i like the concept of the show lol
