I got my laser hair removal done at Simplicitylaser .c o m . I love it. For anyone looking for this type of procedure, I'd definitely recommend these guys.
what are the long term effects of this and why not just use a razor...i feel these people are not trained properly..six month program?no big deal till someone gets burned or hurt...
I feel the Spas that do this should be banned...my cousin going to do this since she lost her job and this girl just open a spa and going to train her there and under her?and take a class somewhere?hyper pigmentation and burns are common if someone does not know what they are doing.I feel this is a form of medical procedure that should be done by a dermatologist!I hate to see someone face be burned because someone did not adjust the laser properly.Educate yourself before any procedure be safe...
a doctor told me that you can get skin cancer from laser hair removal because it burn the root of your hair, so is that right? anyone help me please alio@live.at
Doc: "Cocoa Butter 3 drams, Calomel 2 grains, Epsom Salts 20 grains. Mix well by mortise&pestle and then rub gently in the areas where there are the disturbances from superfluous hair; after leaving it on for 15-20 minutes rub off – it will remove hair without injury 2 the body. To be sure, mercury is in the calomel & its a poison, but with this combination & in this quantity there is not sufficient for a body 2 absorb enough to become detrimental. Follow treatment by Genuine Black&White Cream”
I plan to take laser training in arizona laser institute, but i don't know whether i could use their certification in NY. and have any online paramedical esthetics program to recommend?
The scare tactics by doctors and especially newscasters in this video are appalling. They will find the few individuals who have a problem and then sensationalize the heck out of it! 99.9% of individuals do not have complications with laser hair removal although I do agree that legislation should be required for all states but not necessarily that doctors alone should do the procedures because then the costs will go through the roof without quality competition.
can someone please answer these questions... Someone told me that if your under 25 it will not work because body hair stops growing at age 25, If its not true i will run to my nearest laser location :P second, How much pain will i get into, someone else told me it feels like going out on a hot day on certain areas that are being treated and another told me it hurts more then waxing :|
Your hormones are still booming up to this age, which is why may be someone told you this. The truth is that our hairs grow through our entire life and I know of nothing that can prevent them from showing up as we have it genetically programmed to have hairs growing at certain spots at certain age. Lasers, IPL etc. destroy only the active hairs at the moment, this does not mean that in 10 years you will not have new hairs growing, but they will be only few and thinner.
Seems like forever i've had hair trouble. I saw the NoNo! on 'gratismakeupsamples' - (the offer may still be on), bargain! Its great, works better than i'd expected!
It's important to choose the right laser - Candela is a reputable laser company. Their GentleLASE is used by many reputable laser centers including Sexy Laser Hair Removal in Manhattan. If you do your research you will have a successful treatment.
Different lasers work better than others so you need to do your research. You need 5-6 sessions, so if you have only had 2-3, you can't complain! It's approx. 20% reduction after EACH treatment. Laser treatment is permanent REDUCTION-it should never be guaranteed permanent. If you have medical conditions that affect hormones, get pregnant or go through menopause, or your ethnicity is one where you have more hair than usual then you'll probably see regrowth or it will be harder to treat.
I have had laser hair removal and it was not administered by a dermatologist but by a technician working at a med spa that is supervised by a doctor. The technician was trained and certified by the manufacturer of the specific laser used by the med spa and I have had great results . I personally feel more comfortable going to a smaller more intimate med spa rather than a large chain center. I also think that the level of training of the tech is what matters, not whether its a Doctor or not.
the lazer place i went to went into liquidation three years ago so can't get money back or to sue them. it's like they bleed money out of the clients and run off with cash. Lazer is a big con and a TOTAL RIP OFF.
try to look for a laser machine that's NOT IPL, but actual laser. The type of lasser you want is alexandrite - they're the best. There's a company called gentlelase that provide these machines.
Also, you need to be doing regular treatments. Doesn't matter what your technician says, you need to be going back when your hairs are starting to grow back rather than waiting for full growth. That way, the hairs are "killed" when they're still weak rather than strong again. Hope that helps!
I disagree with you. The lasers have monochromatic light, which does not go deep enough in the skin, like the ruby, alexandrite and diode lasers. When the laser's wavelength allows for deeper penetration like the ND:YAG ones the pigmentation of the hair does not accumulate enough energy for destroying the follicle. The IPL photoepilation uses poly-chronic light, which combines the advantages of all lasers without their disadvantages. This way even the deepest follicles are destroyed
This poly-chronic light is the reason why IPL is prone to damaging skin. Eg, Mediterranean skin types do not handle IPL very well. There are dermatologists in Sydney that offer IPL for improvement of pigmentation, however, they are honest enough to deter their Mediterranean clients from it because it does more damage than good. Do you work at an IPL clinic? They'll convince you they're the best by using technical words. Final note, all information points to lasers being more effective.
That question is hard to answer. There are so many variables that determine the results. The laser, how many treatments, the color of the hair, and even the color of your skin can vary the results. I've had treatments, and it has made HUGE improvements, but there is still hair visible. It's not nearly as thick. It's an on going process. If you're ever interested in hair removal, just do your research to find a reputable laser center. Results vary. It could work for you, or it might not.
@ImaginarYxGoddesS it worked very well for me. I'm a guy and i'm 95% hairless on my face thus far after 5 treatments & 5 touchups. One more treatment & one more touchup to go & then it should be all clear. I am west indian (a little darker skin type so they used Yag laser). I went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC & my technician had 10 years of laser hair removal experience. I'm very happy.
I was told lasers can't treat blonde hair. However, I was told about Meladine, a product that you can use to treat the blonde hair. Has anyone used this?
However in American Laser Center they did not even look if hair on these areas was dark and thick enough for laser treatment. They provide good customer service only before you pay them, once you did they get absolutely ignorant. It is now 3 months as Im waiting for my refund back. Customer service is unreachable, they don't respon my emails or voice msgs either. Im confused and don't know what to do.1000$ is not a small amount
Be Aware it is absolutely impossible to contact their customer service in case if you'll have some medical problems or wait for a money refund!!! Try it yourself before you decide to purchase their services at 877-252-2010 . Or just call their any# and ask to transfer to customer service-you'll wait forever and nobody will answer the phone. I guess they have so many complaints that they just don't answer.
hello, i am a boy and i hav hair in my face... also dark spot in my upper lips because of my hair... and i dnt hav money i am poor i dnt know how to solve my problem... my wish is to remove this in laser... to come true my problem solve... pls help me for this... i am a shemale.. my name is joan tabinas.. i wish u can help me for free. i am from the philippines...
It's already more than 3 month as I am trying to get my 1000$ back. I cancelled the treatment because peach fuzz on my upperlip, upper arms and upper legs areas strated to grow darker and thicker. I consulted with different laser specialists, most of them refuse to apply laser to a peach fuzz because laser may activate hair growth

I had laser hair removal and it worked very well, but I went to a board certified dermatologist. Even then I was informed that there were risks. Don't ever go to anyone but a dermatologist. Only a doctor could do this procedure properly.
I have treated clients who have been burnt by dermatologists. i think what someone needs to look for is someone with LASER EXPERIENCE. Sometimes dermatologists do so many other things that Laser hair removal is not their focus. This means that their experience with the machine is limited!
Yes, I totally agree with you. You can't just go to any dermatologist. You must pick one with extensive experience in sucessfully using a lazer. Often you can look for message boards where doctors are rated and patients discuss their experiences with specific doctors. This is a big help too.
It's been 7 months later since iI went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC and i'm am extremely pleased with my results thus far. 95% hairless on my entire male face. One more treatment & touch up to go and it should be totally cleared. At Romeo & Juliet laser hair removal is all they do & my technician had 10 years of experience.
@MissMission I agree with you on this. I went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC and i'm am extremely pleased with my results thus far. 95% hairless on my entire male face. @Starsky5000 doesn't it hurt like crazy to get hair removed from your face? i am thinking that facial hair is probably the most coarse, and coarse areas hurt so bad...i had my chest done...i had to get it done on such a low setting bc even half-power of the laser felt like being stung by 1000 hornets at once...what was your pain level like? i guess maybe my skin is sensitive, but to me, this hurt 100x more than waxing...too expensive too...i spent like 6 grand for shitty results
@MurphGiovanni yes it hurts like hell. I have dark coarse hair on my face. It's the perfect hair for laser to target. But the more coarser your hair is the more it hurts. In the beginning when i started it hurted so much tears came running down my eyes. But as the treatments progressed it still hurted but a litttle less. I took the pain because i know the end result will be worth it less or no hair to shave on my face. Thank God i don't have to shave my face anymore ever perhaps.
@MurphGiovanni Yes i hated shaving my face very very much. I hated to get up in the morning and shave. Having laser hair removal on my face was like a burden off my head. The hair on my face was very coarse & hard. I would use a brand new gilllette mach 3 blade which would last me only about 2 or 3 shaves because my hair was that hard. I would also have to soften my hair with hot/warm water to soften the hair, the warm/hot water would flare up my rosacea. Thats another reason i got laser done.
@Starsky5000 Hello-I have been thinking about laser hair removal from my neck line because I get HORRIBLE razor burn. It sounds like you got your entire facial hair removed. Just wanted to know if it works? A place quoted me $250/treatment and I will need 5-7 procedures so its going to be around $1500--which to me is well worth it if it works. Would you recommend it?
@stevekennyufc yes it does work if you have dark hair and go to a reputable place that use the right kind of laser for your hair & skin type with the right setting. I went to a very reputable place Romeo & Juliet in NYC and got 6 treatments & touchups for $1,750. I recently finished my last touch up and after 10 months since i began treatment i can say 90% of the hair is gone. The few that remain are sparse & thin. I will get those removed with electrolysis. I am very happy with the results.
@Starsky5000 Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate your info. So, did you get your entire face done for $1,750 including your neck line???? Because that sounds like a very reasonable cost. Anyway---I have my consult scheduled for sep 14th-so we'll see how things go. Thanks again and best wishes to you.
@stevekennyufc yes i got my entire face done for $1,750 including my neckline. I'm extremely satisfied with the results. Please makesure you go to a reputable place.
@Starsky5000 Wow!! That sounds like a hell of a good price for the amount of work you had done!!!!! How do you know if the place is reputable? my consult is at dermatology asociates of central texas-on the website it has a bio of the staff MD, and his credentials-which do look impressive(ex.board certified in dermatology, prior experirence of being chief of dermatology at a hospital) so--do you think that sounds pretty good? Thanks again for your advice-
Of course not, at least not at American Laser Centers. Do some research before you choose a laser hair removal company. I would wax and apply Epilar gel afterward. That gel is penetrate to a hair follicle and prevent a new growth. Each time you do waxing with Epilar you have 20% less hair and eventually after 10 treatment all your hair is gone. Safe and no pigmentation or burns.
It did work to kills some hairs and to make the majority much finer so that I only have to bleach them, but it took 5 treatments and it does cause burns similar to a bad sunburn each treatment. I would do it over again, but I would never go to anyone other than a dermatologist to have it done. If it is done wrong or if you just have really bad luck it can cause permanent scars.
Who the fuck wants it there. I need laser hair removal for my balls and crotch area. Shaving there is hard and unpleasent. Shaving your face is easy. Lol can't tell you how many times I have cut myself down there.
Why do you get to talk about your hair but I can't talk about mine. It's all body hair. Sorry for being vocal in my interest to try the laser hair removal on areas which are difficult to shave well.
LOL no pain no game right dude! I want all the hair on by balls, crotch, gooch, and ass gone. this seems like the way to do it without having to shave.
@DOSU344 bro same problem ass hair wtf i never use to have now i got ass hair wtf wtf ...im almost scared to fuck a girl with ass hair what would they think?
-Make sure whomever is working on you is properly certified. If your going to place that has different people working on you every time you have a treatment. Find another place.
-Stay out of the sun.
-Action88 - The skin should look and feel like a light sun burn after a treatment. Lasting 1-3 days.
In Australia, we can't get decent certification. The "certification" that is offered is by the company who sells the machines...and let me tell you - they'd rather teach you in a way that would sell more products than actually what's safer for the client.
i'm getting facial hair treatments at an american laser facility and they're always rotating nurses is that ok or should i be worried? also i had a treatment 3 days ago and now i have some small but nasty burns on my face and neck.
I'm male 35 & getting treatment on my entire face at Romeo & Juliet in NYC. I made sure i got the technican that did my consultation & free test patch each & every time i go there. She really seems to know what she is doing. Yesterday was my first touchup (had first treatment 2 weeks ago) and she goes the extra mile. So far so good. I'm almost completely hair free only a few hair stubble on my face which should shed. I got back in a month for my second treatment.
@dlss87 this is the reason you should stick to the same nurse. I had the same technician for the last 7 months treating my face so as to avoid things like this. I hope the burns are nothing serious.
I had a course of six treatments by ALC just like the lady in the video. They mostly worked but they did not work like a Miracle.
Before the treatments I had to shave at least every other day. Now I can not shave for over a week and not have any hair worth shaving.
When I ask my mother and sister if my face looks ok and try to point out what hair I see by looking really close in the mirror they say they see nothing. Hair on a womans face is such a big deal in our heads we see it more.
Was it painful? Were there any scars? How was your skin right after the treatment? Was it sore or swollen? Thanks in advance for helping someone who is considering doing it!
it's just common sense. there's no such thing as permanent hair removal even though we'd love to believe it. make sure you go to a well established clinic, or one that a friend has recommended. i've been doing my face for 7 years even - i know it's not permanent, but it's the best option because the hairs stay away for ages and they grow back much finer (as opposed to what waxing does to the face - hairs grow coarse and skin gets pulled)...all that lasering and no pigmentation at all.
Electrolysis is better if you have just a couple of hairs few hairs to remove. Sometimes if you do laser, it picks up on the finer hairs around the "dark" hair and they can be stimulated (as the face is a hormonal area). So laser picks up on a group of hairs (which is why it's so quick), whereas electrolysis is hair by hair.
i've been going to laser for about a year and a half now, depending upon how coarse the hair is, it may not take as many treatments. on certain parts of the body hair may be more stubborn then other parts. but you should def. look up further information on it. laser also isn't exatcly pain free or completely safe- so do yr research and know what yr getting into before you do it
What you're looking for is a CO2 laser. Those can easily blast wood and sheet metal. They're also known as skin fragmentation resurfacing lasers. It's the same damn laser device.
I'm blond and have fair skin but dark, coarse pubic hair, perianal hair, and upper leg hair. I avoid the sun. I won't wax because I think it damages the skin. Have been relying on hair removal cream for the upper leg and bikini line. My husband shaves the intimate hair for me. As soon as I can afford it, I am going to try laser hair removal for leg and intimate areas. But first, I'll ask my doctor's advice and get him to recommend a practitioner.
I just spent $150 to get some embarrassing side chin hairs and the back of my neck hairs removed. I am a dark skinned african american, after one treatment the hair has not grown back yet and its been 4 weeks. I am still very cautious and worried about the long term effects :-(
No, you wouldn't have. Laser hair removal is the most effective type of hair removal. You just have to make sure you go to someone who's qualified to work the machines. only 20 in 75,000 ppl experience adverse reactions, weren't you watching?
As a former technician of AlC (worked there for 1&1/2 yrs), I can say the statement of "20 adverse reactions in 75,000 treatments" is a gross underestimation. We had many pts experience hyerpigmentation, hypopigmentation (which is almost impossible to treat), and permanent scarring from burns, due to inexperienced technicians that were given 2 days of training and then thrown into performing treatments on pts. ALC has only included lawsuits that pts. have filed against them in those statistics.
You said inexperienced technicians? Well that's why people should go to their doctor first to avoid that risk as much as possible. The doctor can see if it's safe and point out a good technician who knows what they're doing.
laser sucks for people who love the sun. you have to actually stop going out w/ t-shirts and shorts, no skin exposure, and it only works for people who have certain types of skin colors, and hair types.
that is NOT true. you only have to be careful in the sun WHILE you are receiving treatments. which at most is a 6 month period - which is why you do it during the winter. that's what i did. and i just got my last treatment last week. i've been out in the sun plenty, but i used an spf 70, i have VERY sensitive and fair skin and i came out completely fine after my last treatment.
I have been getting laser hair removal on my chest now for about an year. I have been through about 8 treatments. A lot of my hair has gone away but it is very patchy in spots. Does anyone have any idea how many more treatments it will take me to get my hair gone on my chest? Also what is the averge price people are paying for the chest laser hair removal?
I had a friend that is a dermatologist and he got the machine... he gave me FREE treatments for free... lowerback, chest, abs, everywhere..... there are some parts of the body that will come back.. I had more than 12 treatments during the last years.. and it grew back....it always get back..
i had this done just TODAY, most painful thing ever. I paid about $30 for my upper lip at my doctor's laser hair removal office next door. I go about once a month and eventually, you go about once a year until it's all gone.
She most likely died because she used too much of the numbing cream. You are only supposed to use a certain amount. if you put too much on, it absorbs, and can cause cardiac arrest.
I've been doing laser hair removal for 4 years now and NO its not permanent, the best result a man can achieve is going twice a year that means 1 time every 6 months.the hair always come back, they just come back much weaker than they were.fashion models, singers, film stars they look perfect cause they're hairless by nature or they go EVERY month.DEAL with it.its not permanent.period
You have to find a treatment center that is a chain and well known one, if you get scammed its just like anywhere else you get scammed. So really no one is safe from it.
If you pick the right place it works, I had my face from my lip to neck done, had 7 treatments. the lasers now are much better then when this was shown. I have maybe 5-6 light hairs left on my face.
missgj: 3 treatments cant remove all of the hair wherever you got it done. and no it does not burn off your hair to remove it, the laser actually removes the follicle so hair won't grow back in that area.
Are you looking for somewhere in Sydney? If so, i recommend looking for a place the have the GentleLase machine - and a place that don't shave the area before a treatment. I know of once clinic called the LaserDerm Clinic in Canterbury, Sydney. They're honest and will let you know what you're in for from the start.
Don't waste your money. The guy on this movie is accurate in everything he said.. the lady with certificates is scamming people just cos she wants fast cash. The lady I went to had certificates too + told it would be permenant after 10 treatments + I asked her if she had tried it + she said she had on her lip area (and I remembered thinking, but your blond and you just said that you don't treat people with white or blond hair!) What a scam! Patients are at risk!
This procedure is a scam! I had 3 treatments + it is NOT permanent for a FACT.. it can even make it worse because it burns off hair and can make darker / ignite growth where there wasn't anything before. The only one that is permenant is electrolysis.
This procedure is a complete hoax. It is NOT permanent. Try getting a guarantee. They guarantee nothing, they keep you paying for YEARS. I can't believe they get by with it. NUTs.
if they use the type of laser that the fda has approved to call "permanent", then after 8 treatments, there is a guaranteed 85-90 percent success rate, could be even higher if you are the ideal candidate, fair skin very dark hair. i just went to my first treatment (from a practicing M.D. in the laser business for 7 yrs who is the only one who does the laser) so maybe you will have some hair after but it will most likely be peach fuzz if you're the ideal candidate and you do all treatmts
Another big fat LIE. There is not a guarantee......and you should cite the objective scientific study that supports your "success rate" figures. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This is exactly the verbage they will tell you when you start going....YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. I can't imagine what has possessed you to support this shoddy industry...perhaps you should drill holes in your head to let the demons out.
i know multiple people who had it done some recently some years ago and they are MUCH happier. so if ive seen it with my own eyes then i know how it works. and its not cheaper in the long run. lip alone is 15 bucks where i go. so 30 bucks for all waxing every week and a half for one year. costs as much as this laser is costing me. and to not have to go get waxed every week and a half and risk being burned, breaking out, alergic reaction as i have very sensitive skin - that is PRICELESS
AND the one person i know specifically said that yes once in a while she does get a few hairs but they are just like peach fuzz and very easy to remove as compared to the coarser hair she had before... and also its the lightsheer diode laser that is approved by the fda to use permanent reduction in their marketing which means the whole 85-90 percent success rate. theres ur objective scientific study a simple google wasnt that hard.
well i spent my money and it was well worth it!!! we're here, 2 months later and almost all the hair is gone!!!! it is a DRASTIC difference and i am SO HAPPY that i chose this. i still have 3 treatments to go and already am done probably 85% of the hair. so bug off.
i'm about to go for my 4th treatment-I LOVE IT. i got my lip and chin done-lip is pretty much all gone (and i have 3 more treatments to go!-chin has just 2 spots that I think had the most folicles. i am SO happy that i had this done. i am pale with dark hair AND sensitive skin so nair/waxing/whatever was just taking a toll on me both FINANCIALLY and SKIN-WISE. if you have excessive hair due to genetics or hormonal imbalance i can't recommend it enough! it is well worth the money.
I'm starting 2 get just a couple om my chin, if i remove it with electrolysis, would I be able to get in the sun? and after how long will it come back, n if it does, will it come back worse?
as far as i know it's ok to be in the sun during electrolysis, but i would call and find out just in case. Keep in mind that you only need 10 mins a day to get your dose of Vitamin D, so don't go baking yourself!! hehe...
if you go somewhere good, it won't come back worse with electrolysis!
if you decide laser is the way to go, just put sunscreen on and reapply every hour. i never stop lasering myself even during the summer and i don't get pigmentation!
for y'all in the west coast check out the New Look SKin Center--- honestly the best clinic for laser

It's important to choose the right laser - Candela is a reputable laser company. Their GentleLASE is used by many reputable laser centers including Sexy Laser Hair Removal in Manhattan. If you do your research you will have a successful treatment.
kabledesigns 2 years ago

I had lazer hair removal done on my chest. I'm of Italian decent so you can guess how thick my hair is.
1) It is NOT painless......burning needle like pain in each follicle.
2) It is NOT permanent. 21 separate treatments on my chest and 2 years later cant tell any difference.

try to look for a laser machine that's NOT IPL, but actual laser.
MissMission 2 years ago
@MissMission
LivingBulgaria 1 year ago
This poly-chronic light is the reason why IPL is prone to damaging skin. Eg, Mediterranean skin types do not handle IPL very well. There are dermatologists in Sydney that offer IPL for improvement of pigmentation, however, they are honest enough to deter their Mediterranean clients from it because it does more damage than good. Do you work at an IPL clinic? They'll convince you they're the best by using technical words. Final note, all information points to lasers being more effective.

does d laser treatment actually work or does the hair grow back again
bloodninja5 3 years ago
That question is hard to answer. There are so many variables that determine the results. The laser, how many treatments, the color of the hair, and even the color of your skin can vary the results. I've had treatments, and it has made HUGE improvements, but there is still hair visible. It's not nearly as thick. It's an on going process. If you're ever interested in hair removal, just do your research to find a reputable laser center. Results vary. It could work for you, or it might not.

MissMission 3 years ago
Yes, I totally agree with you. You can't just go to any dermatologist. You must pick one with extensive experience in sucessfully using a lazer. Often you can look for message boards where doctors are rated and patients discuss their experiences with specific doctors. This is a big help too.

MurphGiovanni 1 year ago
@MurphGiovanni yes it hurts like hell. I have dark coarse hair on my face. It's the perfect hair for laser to target. But the more coarser your hair is the more it hurts. In the beginning when i started it hurted so much tears came running down my eyes. But as the treatments progressed it still hurted but a litttle less. I took the pain because i know the end result will be worth it less or no hair to shave on my face. Thank God i don't have to shave my face anymore ever perhaps.
Starsky5000 1 year ago
@Starsky5000 you hated shaving your face that much??
MurphGiovanni 1 year ago
@MurphGiovanni Yes i hated shaving my face very very much. I hated to get up in the morning and shave. Having laser hair removal on my face was like a burden off my head. The hair on my face was very coarse & hard. I would use a brand new gilllette mach 3 blade which would last me only about 2 or 3 shaves because my hair was that hard. I would also have to soften my hair with hot/warm water to soften the hair, the warm/hot water would flare up my rosacea. Thats another reason i got laser done.
Starsky5000 1 year ago
@Starsky5000 Hello-I have been thinking about laser hair removal from my neck line because I get HORRIBLE razor burn. It sounds like you got your entire facial hair removed. Just wanted to know if it works? A place quoted me $250/treatment and I will need 5-7 procedures so its going to be around $1500--which to me is well worth it if it works. Would you recommend it?
stevekennyufc 1 year ago
@stevekennyufc yes it does work if you have dark hair and go to a reputable place that use the right kind of laser for your hair & skin type with the right setting. I went to a very reputable place Romeo & Juliet in NYC and got 6 treatments & touchups for $1,750. I recently finished my last touch up and after 10 months since i began treatment i can say 90% of the hair is gone. The few that remain are sparse & thin. I will get those removed with electrolysis. I am very happy with the results.
Starsky5000 1 year ago

Thanks again for your advice-
stevekennyufc 1 year ago
Of course not, at least not at American Laser Centers. Do some research before you choose a laser hair removal company. I would wax and apply Epilar gel afterward. That gel is penetrate to a hair follicle and prevent a new growth. Each time you do waxing with Epilar you have 20% less hair and eventually after 10 treatment all your hair is gone. Safe and no pigmentation or burns.

KittyKatCuttie 3 years ago
It did work to kills some hairs and to make the majority much finer so that I only have to bleach them, but it took 5 treatments and it does cause burns similar to a bad sunburn each treatment. I would do it over again, but I would never go to anyone other than a dermatologist to have it done. If it is done wrong or if you just have really bad luck it can cause permanent scars.

-Make sure whomever is working on you is properly certified. If your going to place that has different people working on you every time you have a treatment. Find another place.
-Stay out of the sun.
-Action88 - The skin should look and feel like a light sun burn after a treatment. Lasting 1-3 days.
pdeco1 3 years ago
In Australia, we can't get decent certification. The "certification" that is offered is by the company who sells the machines...and let me tell you - they'd rather teach you in a way that would sell more products than actually what's safer for the client.

Starsky5000 2 years ago
@dlss87 this is the reason you should stick to the same nurse. I had the same technician for the last 7 months treating my face so as to avoid things like this. I hope the burns are nothing serious.
Starsky5000 1 year ago
I had a course of six treatments by ALC just like the lady in the video. They mostly worked but they did not work like a Miracle.
Before the treatments I had to shave at least every other day. Now I can not shave for over a week and not have any hair worth shaving.
When I ask my mother and sister if my face looks ok and try to point out what hair I see by looking really close in the mirror they say they see nothing. Hair on a womans face is such a big deal in our heads we see it more.

it's just common sense. there's no such thing as permanent hair removal even though we'd love to believe it. make sure you go to a well established clinic, or one that a friend has recommended. i've been doing my face for 7 years even - i know it's not permanent, but it's the best option because the hairs stay away for ages and they grow back much finer (as opposed to what waxing does to the face - hairs grow coarse and skin gets pulled)...all that lasering and no pigmentation at all.
MissMission 3 years ago
Can you be in the sun if you do electrolysis?
AhlaMinAmar 3 years ago
Electrolysis is better if you have just a couple of hairs few hairs to remove. Sometimes if you do laser, it picks up on the finer hairs around the "dark" hair and they can be stimulated (as the face is a hormonal area). So laser picks up on a group of hairs (which is why it's so quick), whereas electrolysis is hair by hair.
MissMission 3 years ago
i've been going to laser for about a year and a half now, depending upon how coarse the hair is, it may not take as many treatments. on certain parts of the body hair may be more stubborn then other parts. but you should def. look up further information on it. laser also isn't exatcly pain free or completely safe- so do yr research and know what yr getting into before you do it

OomphB 3 years ago 2
No, you wouldn't have. Laser hair removal is the most effective type of hair removal. You just have to make sure you go to someone who's qualified to work the machines. only 20 in 75,000 ppl experience adverse reactions, weren't you watching?
flautistnotflutist 3 years ago
As a former technician of AlC (worked there for 1&1/2 yrs), I can say the statement of "20 adverse reactions in 75,000 treatments" is a gross underestimation. We had many pts experience hyerpigmentation, hypopigmentation (which is almost impossible to treat), and permanent scarring from burns, due to inexperienced technicians that were given 2 days of training and then thrown into performing treatments on pts. ALC has only included lawsuits that pts. have filed against them in those statistics.
rpartee76 3 years ago
You said inexperienced technicians? Well that's why people should go to their doctor first to avoid that risk as much as possible. The doctor can see if it's safe and point out a good technician who knows what they're doing.

laser sucks for people who love the sun. you have to actually stop going out w/ t-shirts and shorts, no skin exposure, and it only works for people who have certain types of skin colors, and hair types.
russia21 3 years ago
that is NOT true. you only have to be careful in the sun WHILE you are receiving treatments. which at most is a 6 month period - which is why you do it during the winter. that's what i did. and i just got my last treatment last week. i've been out in the sun plenty, but i used an spf 70, i have VERY sensitive and fair skin and i came out completely fine after my last treatment.

If you pick the right place it works, I had my face from my lip to neck done, had 7 treatments. the lasers now are much better then when this was shown. I have maybe 5-6 light hairs left on my face.

if they use the type of laser that the fda has approved to call "permanent", then after 8 treatments, there is a guaranteed 85-90 percent success rate, could be even higher if you are the ideal candidate, fair skin very dark hair. i just went to my first treatment (from a practicing M.D. in the laser business for 7 yrs who is the only one who does the laser) so maybe you will have some hair after but it will most likely be peach fuzz if you're the ideal candidate and you do all treatmts

AND the one person i know specifically said that yes once in a while she does get a few hairs but they are just like peach fuzz and very easy to remove as compared to the coarser hair she had before... and also its the lightsheer diode laser that is approved by the fda to use permanent reduction in their marketing which means the whole 85-90 percent success rate. theres ur objective scientific study a simple google wasnt that hard.

fda approval means that it won't kill you. it doesn't mean it that it will work effectively. THIS IS A HOAX AND A SCAM. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY.

well i spent my money and it was well worth it!!! we're here, 2 months later and almost all the hair is gone!!!! it is a DRASTIC difference and i am SO HAPPY that i chose this. i still have 3 treatments to go and already am done probably 85% of the hair. so bug off.

Did you get the laser hair treatment? Just asking, as I really want to know.

i'm about to go for my 4th treatment-I LOVE IT. i got my lip and chin done-lip is pretty much all gone (and i have 3 more treatments to go!-chin has just 2 spots that I think had the most folicles. i am SO happy that i had this done. i am pale with dark hair AND sensitive skin so nair/waxing/whatever was just taking a toll on me both FINANCIALLY and SKIN-WISE. if you have excessive hair due to genetics or hormonal imbalance i can't recommend it enough! it is well worth the money.

I'm starting 2 get just a couple om my chin, if i remove it with electrolysis, would I be able to get in the sun? and after how long will it come back, n if it does, will it come back worse?
Thank YOu

i know nothing about electrolysis i had laser hair removal
nilty007 3 years ago
as far as i know it's ok to be in the sun during electrolysis, but i would call and find out just in case.
