  • My favorite song by them.. i'm STOKED for March, they're comin' back to Tulsa! I've never seen the Doobie Brothers live, but if it's anything like most concerts I go to, everyone in the audience will be sure to bring a lot of doobies to share with me at the concert. Bring your doobies to T-town, brothers,It's gonna be a good show!

  • i listen to this, and my friend like to hit me cuz i lisen to hip hop and stuff so ha they think they know me!

  • OOOh geeezzz this is awesome...I love it !!! ♥

  • sounds better live than on the record, most unusual.

  • @hd4ms agreed!

  • @hd4ms As it should! :)

  • The fiddler has a nice ass.

  • Still sounds as good today as it did all those years ago, and thank god Tom is back in the band was not the same without him. Thanks for putting this up for all us old folks to enjoy and would you pass that dobbie over here please :)

  • All you people try to dissect the music too much. Mellow out and just enjoy it. Not everyone expects a theory on every subject. lay back and enjoy it.

  • classic...many thanks!!!

  • I'm the drum tech for their next gig :D lookin forward to meeting them all :)

  • This is not from the 70's is it? I mean the song is but the video isn't. Did the Doobie Brothers do anything as far as concert clips or concerts back then? Just askin

  • @01artist the video is in new york 1996

  • Lovely haircuts.. not

  • @irvnz How old are you kid?

  • i have been wanting to hear this song forever, and the other day, i heard the very end on the radio and it made me so mad. haha. but this definately helped.

  • Still love the Doobies after all these years

  • To 98th Disliker: I thank you for making all previous comments about the 97 dislikers being non-applicable.

To Rest of Dislikers: Screw you.

  • My Dad had this album in the day. Classic: What-were-once-vices-are-now habits

  • 97 dislikes... really i bet 96 of them are kids that dont know real music like me and 1 is a troll

  • Some cats get it right. Who's to define rock?

  • 97 people do not like this? Maybe they don't know music.

  • 97 ppl have no sould and should probably kill themselves to save us all a problem

  • Oh the memories this song brings back. Thanks for posting this! You made my day <3

  • GREAT JOB SOUNDS GREAT THANKS

  • I can respect purity. Well done.

  • wow they sounds great

  • this is the only song you can play on any jukebox anywhere that everyone will enjoy

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Ultimate rock'n'roll hoedown! Lovin' that trill-tuned fiddle. The plethora of finely blended instruments and voices is a symphonic assault of glory.

If this doesn't reach your soul, you don't have one yet. Keep trying.

  • Check out the 80's dancers....heh.....cant wait to see them in NZed in a month!!!! (Gawd, hope I don't dance like that anymore)

  • PERFECT!

  • Makes me dreamy and nostalgic for older, simpler, more innocent times. Love the fiddle...

  • When I heard this song as a child I thought the band was black cause of all the soul sounds. White people do have soul afterall, who knew.

  • @lokop76 Soul has no color. Ever heard of Hall & Oates?

  • This stands out to me as one of the highest moments of rock n roll. You've got old-time elements, dixie and blues with so much rhythm and soul you don't even need a band, you could just sing it in the middle of a wheat field. You've got outstanding narrative lyric, structure, counterpoint, and this amazing band. For me a favorite song of all time.

  • @MeredithWaters welcome aboard the soul train.

  • stop fucking claping !!!!!!

  • @KestrelKid1 sorry...they can't hear you. :o)

  • DAYUM, i luv this song, i played this song on my phone while i was walking in the downtown part of vickshurg mississippi and it fit the mood so nice

  • Loved it then, love it now...nice one!!

  • Great Doobies number, nicely played and sung live, possibly the greatest American band ever, ( in my humble Scottish opinion)

  • Dixie land ... ..by the hand ..,,,pretty mama .....doobie doobie do,doobie do

  • By far one of the best songs reflecting the South

  • The 70s! 60s and 70s music is the best.

  • Yeah ok !!!!

  • I used to see these guys at Pine Knob in Pontiac Michigan every year in the late 70's. The original band rocked like you cant believe

  • Geeez, what amazing tune!1 Thanks for posting! Cheers from Brazil, Doc

  • This song is just brilliant. I've never heard the voice of God, but I imagine this is pretty close to what it would be like.

  • @oDayton Actually I think the closest we can get to the Voice of God is Johann Bach! But in this century, for us lesser mortals, this is fine. Pure joy!

  • thanks for taking me back to my teenage days when this song was brand new.

  • Love it.

  • I used to sing this song all the time and i didn't know until today who the artist was....OMG i love them

  • Heyyy.....can't wait to go to their concert right in my own backyard! Across the Lake that is...this Feb. Sooo...looking forward to have them here in N.Zed :)

  • awesome! awesome! Keep gitting done !! wow....

  • I was a big Doobie Brothers Fan and I always thought Patrick Simmons songs were a little too mellow for my tastes...I was a Tom Johnston Rocker and I was saddened by his departure during the heyday...WIth age and listening to Country & BlueGrass I get this song...Great video thanks for the re-memory!!!

  • Rock on Boys!

  • musically speaking, these guys operate on a plane of existence shared by very few others. very few

  • You're stupid.

  • this is such a stuipid song.....DX

  • @zoegabriellong if that was the case, you wouldn't be here :) idiot.

  • @zoegabriellong one day when you grow up, gain some musical taste, and learn anything at all about music, I'll accept you as a human being. Until then you're lucky I always try not to be mean to little girls.

  • Can't leave a comment- my rafts ready for floatin' and the mississippi is callin my name ok? =D

  • Awesome! Doobie Brothers!!! Love Love Love em! I still have plenty of their albums too, on vinyl!

  • Wait! Where's Michael McDonald? The Doobie Brothers don't work well without him. This tune rocks, by the way. It had to in order to be Number 1 in 1975.

  • does'nt get much better.

  • I looooooooooooove this song! what great memories it bring back :)

  • Harmonies were excellent. Feel good music. :)

  • One of the best uses of harmony EVER...Love this song!

  • I'll take it. I like this song also. Memories...

  • This'll make everyone crazy: I never heard of the Dooby Brothers before this video. Love them and the song. Thanks for uploading!

  • I actually don't like this song but only because my art teacher played it every day at least two or three times a day and I got sick of it. Now it reminds me of high school and good times. I still give it a thumbs up...

  • @loenterprises And yet you are here listening now. Guess your art teacher was smarter than you give credit.

  • @loenterprises Well your art teacher had great taste!!!

  • Love this song. Can't believe I can't find any Eye's of Silver either.

  • they look bored as fuck..

  • @popcornplaya00700 naw, they look like theyre lazin on the bayou

  • This is the rare case of a song I'd rather hear recorded than performed live. The album recording has such a great dreamy feel. Takes you somewhere. The clapping of a crowd distracts from it.

  • Keep on shining YOUR light! That's my catch phrase!!! yaya

  • that is not okay to say ever stupid new york moon does not shine like the one in mississippi does gowd damnit

  • awesome

  • best song in the world

  • jumpin catfish?

  • @athlomar Yes.

  • I KNOW IT MAY SOUND STRANGE . . . But .....

..... What I Like Most About This . . . Is That The Audience Did NOT

Ruin It!!! WHAT I MEAN IS THAT . . . They Clapped ... Sang ... and

Cheered at the Perfect Time!!! Trust You Understand What I'm Saying!!!

  • It's not the same without Michael McDonald...

  • This is the best summer song ever!

  • people having good simple fun...

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • WOW MAN WOW THE JOCKS THE GEEKS AND THE STONERS - THE 8 TRACK PLAYER A FATTY - AND THE CHICKS FROM SCHOOL IN THE ORANGE VAN - WOW THE 70 S WHAT MEMORIES Ô¿Ô

  • always been one of my favourites...

  • I'm 15 this is what i grew up listening too

but then nowadays music you hear is just "justin beiber" and they call that music

  • One of my favorites!! I can remember being young and my brothers and sisters listening to it...I also remember the guys performing on a show in the 70s or 80s..UGH!! It had RAJ, Re-Run, Dewayne on it!! Anyhow...I love it!

  • i'm 4 and i only listen to music like this

  • @jazzmanbob1 yeah, right. sure. like a four year old could spell "listen" or "music" or correctly punctuate "I'm". Plus, your channel says you joined four years ago.

  • @GaaraGirl339 Too Funny Gaara...

    ( ROCK ON )

  • I have loved this song the minute I first heard it. It is one of my very favorite songs. I sometimes just put it on repeat and listen to it all night long!

  • When i was little my dad told me "son, this here is the doobie brothers" to witch i replied "Whats a Doobie Daddy?"

  • One of my all time favorites. Thanks for sharing.

  • DOOBIE BROTHERS THE EAGLES AMERICA STEELY DAN CSN&Y GRAND FUNK RAILROAD CRISTOPHER CROSS ETC...THE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC FOR BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

  • Ha ha ha... the second that one of the musicians stops clapping, the white audience crashes and burns. The someone on stage has to get them back on the beat.

  • My god....it is true white people really can't dance at all. Just smile at each other.

  • @spareaxe White boys who know how to write and perform GOOD music don't have to dance.....it's the new crap that needs a side show to take ones mind of the crap being played.

  • @03drz400srocks I was commenting on the crowd so get over it and move on. By the way I do agree about the new crap but, not all of them are trying to just sell CD's. Some actually care about their craft and where it's taking them nowadays.

  • Boy, that violinist is a looker.

  • @TheEndKing That's true for the most part... but if you get an old mountain goat from Appalachia, he'll dance the heels off his boots.

  • For a live version, this couldn't be any better.

  • 84 people aren't sure what "music" is.

  • I always felt Mike Mcdonald ruined this band.I always liked their older stuff like this and Jesus is just alright, but you can keep your takin it to the streets.

  • this shot's to you

  • he just hadda ruin it by saying "New York moon"...

    crap.

  • siiiiiiiiigh. Just beautiful! thanks for sharing this one!!

  • Thank God I know good music...but sadly we have 83 loosers among us.
