Still sounds as good today as it did all those years ago, and thank god Tom is back in the band was not the same without him. Thanks for putting this up for all us old folks to enjoy and would you pass that dobbie over here please :)
All you people try to dissect the music too much. Mellow out and just enjoy it. Not everyone expects a theory on every subject. lay back and enjoy it.
This is not from the 70's is it? I mean the song is but the video isn't. Did the Doobie Brothers do anything as far as concert clips or concerts back then? Just askin
i have been wanting to hear this song forever, and the other day, i heard the very end on the radio and it made me so mad. haha. but this definately helped.
This stands out to me as one of the highest moments of rock n roll. You've got old-time elements, dixie and blues with so much rhythm and soul you don't even need a band, you could just sing it in the middle of a wheat field. You've got outstanding narrative lyric, structure, counterpoint, and this amazing band. For me a favorite song of all time.
@oDayton Actually I think the closest we can get to the Voice of God is Johann Bach! But in this century, for us lesser mortals, this is fine. Pure joy!
Heyyy.....can't wait to go to their concert right in my own backyard! Across the Lake that is...this Feb. Sooo...looking forward to have them here in N.Zed :)
I was a big Doobie Brothers Fan and I always thought Patrick Simmons songs were a little too mellow for my tastes...I was a Tom Johnston Rocker and I was saddened by his departure during the heyday...WIth age and listening to Country & BlueGrass I get this song...Great video thanks for the re-memory!!!
@zoegabriellong one day when you grow up, gain some musical taste, and learn anything at all about music, I'll accept you as a human being. Until then you're lucky I always try not to be mean to little girls.

Wait! Where's Michael McDonald? The Doobie Brothers don't work well without him. This tune rocks, by the way. It had to in order to be Number 1 in 1975.
I actually don't like this song but only because my art teacher played it every day at least two or three times a day and I got sick of it. Now it reminds me of high school and good times. I still give it a thumbs up...
Ya jest GOTS ta raize yo' fist in tha air rite reel fast an' shout out "DOOBIES" Every time one of their songs gits played!!!! {weal, at leest I does eenyways}..XD
Can't see my keyboard - smile's too wide!!! Loved this song when I first heard it way back in the last century. Must get some more cans - it's one of those songs like Ripples (Genesis) which sounds even better that way! Good one - thank you. x
This is the rare case of a song I'd rather hear recorded than performed live. The album recording has such a great dreamy feel. Takes you somewhere. The clapping of a crowd distracts from it.

@jazzmanbob1 yeah, right. sure. like a four year old could spell "listen" or "music" or correctly punctuate "I'm". Plus, your channel says you joined four years ago.
I have loved this song the minute I first heard it. It is one of my very favorite songs. I sometimes just put it on repeat and listen to it all night long!
Ha ha ha... the second that one of the musicians stops clapping, the white audience crashes and burns. The someone on stage has to get them back on the beat.

Ultimate rock'n'roll hoedown! Lovin' that trill-tuned fiddle. The plethora of finely blended instruments and voices is a symphonic assault of glory.
