I wish that everything that Charlie wanted would come to pass, but at the same time I do not. I know that my words seem insincere, however that is not my intention. While I myself hate these blights that are upon humanity I also reconignize why they are there. Without struggle there is no need for technology and without evil there reason for good to exist. These blights are here for a reason so that people may be able to look beyond themselves and look instead at others, for if not you then who?

Even when scarcity is removed, technology will continue to develop for its own sake. As for good not being able to exist without evil - I think that's a false dichotomy. I believe that goodness is a part of what we are, there is altruism in our genes.
@Toml420 It is my belief that our genes only help us to grow in body, not in mind and personality. No we do not need most the technology we have, but it is a nice bonus in this life. Humanity however, is not inherently good that is choice to be made by yourself. I believe that good and evil are not wholly exclusive from one another, but rather that they are that locked together always follwing where the other goes. no joke Charlie Chaplin's speech was amazing and with this it nearly brought me to tears. It makes you think of what we have come to as humans. Those two paired together is truly moving.
