The myth about being able to kill one self with the SAM turret is actually true. I was able to pull it off. Place the SAM under some kind of light roof (for instance the balcony on Nuketown) and wait for the SAM to shoot enemy aircraft. If you're too close when the missile explodes when it hits the roof structure, you WILL die.
