@SanitiseYourMind Not really. The speed of sound is bout 971 meters/second. he started bleeding about a second and a quarter to about a second and a half before the shot was heard. Meaning, the range of where the sniper was is from 1213.75 meters to1456.5 meters away.even if the time period between bleeding and shot heard is only a second, 971 meters is still a far shot. From the snipers POV, the bullet hit instantly, even though the distace is 900 to 1400 meters away. So suck my balls, young'n.

but the time you get between bullet hits and sound being heard is soo short you cant even react.

@xrayfishx Depends if its subsonic or not :P For ex. if you shoot a weapon with a silencer and then a bullet going faster then sound it wont really help much since the sonic bang will still be heard. Maybe they have managed to solve this now (I like guns but am not exactly keeping toe to toe with science) but atleast before you could not really fully silence a weapon with ammo going faster then the speed of sound

@pepparmostheelder at this distance if the bullet is not supersonic you should choose a different weapon. However the skull of a human is pretty thick in some places and might slow down the bullet enough to prevent the sonic boom.

@xrayfishx yes but you forget that if you use a high speed bullet the sonic bang will not occur (unless you shoot at at pointblank range I guess) when you hit the target. The boom will be just after the bullet leaves the barrel and so the chance of damping the sonic boom by hitting an objekt is rather impossible. Also, subsonic ammo can be used at quiet large ranges aswell :) Certanly not as far as fast ammo but you can certanly use it in a sniper rifle at decent distance.
