1) Naruto's tide up because he was ambushed. 2) He was using the fox because I think he was trying to get free but couldn't so he resorted to using the fox or he was just plain mad.

That's all I really can remember about those parts, sorry if it's not right, but I'm pretty sure that's why. I hope it helps! :)
