  • What is this whole map thing,.? Does it help you predict what cards you will get? And on a side note will this help pull a p9 in an old pack, where can i get an alpha or beta pack also

  • HOW THE HELL DO YOU OPEN PACKS THAT FAST!?!

I always take like 30 seconds, I can't rip it like that..

  • Does Worldwake Set Have Good Cards ???

  • @REVZKING The Jacer of course... And stoneforge mystic. They are both amazing, but banned in standard. "Jacer" is Jace, The Mind Sculptor.

  • how does the book work

  • believe in your gut

  • I love the content of the booster box but I still miss the old fat packs.

  • random non-mtg question: is that pocket knife a kershaw leek? lol just wondering...

  • @wrath6647 - Indeed!

  • @recardwizard I thought so. I have one also, except mine has a grey handle. Great little knife. btw, I really enjoyed watching your videos.

  • hey man, so if i want to use this method for ZEN and ROE, which one i have to buy first and for the expnasion? i prefer the ebook,

    thanks man.

  • @sefenvold - I suggest waiting for the new edition of the book, because there will be Zendikar map information in it. (About 50% of the Zendikar in circulation works with the map, while the rest does not). As of yet, Rise has not been mapped.

  • @recardwizard oh dang, i guess i have to wait, will you post video for zendikar?

  • what is the newest update to cards or decks, like is there a starter deck for the newest edition? i want to try to get one but i have no money :( i have a lot of friends that play and they said i should learn but i don't know i am a little afraid. i am more used to yugioh to be honest

  • 10999 views.... lawl

    11000th view count for anything?

    +1 like too btw

  • wow u pwn but i dunno how this works :(

  • yr like the jose canseco of magic the gathering.

  • @KINGKARMA21 - Thank you! And like Jose Canseco, I am continuously taking steroids. In fact, it's about time for my daily injection. Pardon me folks. :)

  • Just how inaccurate is the map if say, I opened a booster box tomorrow? I'm very reluctant to spend $10 bux for what could essentially just be really fancy looking list of card names.

Also, these vids are fun to watch, thanks!

  • @cloudedknife - There's no way to know until you open the box. If you're not willing to roll the dice on it, don't buy it -- problem solved. :)

  • Man so this means that its really not safe to order packs online.

I wonder if card shops do this as well

  • You know they do man. The market for singles is pretty good, and always flowing (depending on what's being used)--so an unopened booster box much like he showed here is the best choice.

  • Yea that was my fear. Thanks man

  • I downloaded the free ebook version that i guess consists of all the sets info for mapping but still have no idea as to how you do it.. is there a certain one that you have to buy that contains that info?

  • @Happy1Go1Lucky28 - Well, yes. The free index is just the index. That tells you which edition contains which map. It doesn't teach you anything about mapping... that's what the books and ebooks that cost money are for. :)

  • FIgures haha but good to know, thanks.

  • I wish there was a way to map packs on MTGO...that would be awesome!!

  • so like pretty much its like your going in for the cards that are worth more then a pack of cards selling those for profit and then sell back the packs you dont want to some online store?

  • @lotusmonkey2 - You can do whatever you want with the leftover packs. I am not a dealer anymore so I usually use them for drafts. My local game store lets people bring their own packs and pay only the prize portion of draft entry. (They shuffle the draft packs, though, to prevent cheating.) Dealers who use the mapping method usually just sell the packs to unsuspecting customers.

  • i guessed that the stacks on the left were stacks of mythics.

  • can someone explain what he's doing here? like with the paper and stuff?

  • do shops to that cus if they do that fucked up but do you know if card kingdom does it

  • This is EXACTLY why I would NEVER buy boosters online.. for this reason!

  • well buy the boxes, they're waaaay cheaper online. you can get em for 100, or even 70 if you buy $100 worth of singles. 36 packs normally for $4 apeice is $144, so a box online is a FANTASTIC deal

  • they might do something like that with boosters. i doubt it becuase some other people who make videos buy a bunch of packs from online retailers and they get pretty awsome pulls. and for boxes they cant do that unless they say that its no longer sealed and they tampered with it

  • cardkingdom is fine, ive ordered boxes from there

  • Thats soo cool!

  • What if you knew your box was second shipment couldnt you figure out the map pretty easily you know the assortment doesnt that mean you could map it well enough? Is it worth buying at all to use your method or is not worth it at all anymore?

  • You can still get good use out of the maps, but it is very difficult unless you are well-practiced at mapping and breaking down boxes. If you're in doubt, just buy the M10 singles you want instead of going fishing for them.

  • but fishing is funner. in magic and actual fishing :)

  • You a member of some kind of Pythagorean cult or something? How did you figure this out!?!?!?

  • Hehe nope, just used math. See, all those hours in class WEREN'T wasted. :)

  • To any of you card shops out there that do this and sell the shit boosters for top dollar--Fuck you, may your asshole bleed!

  • Local brick & mortar dealers tend not to do this, because word would spread that they are the store with the "bad packs." Internet dealers, though... you basically have no reason to trust any of them unless they have proven themselves to you by satisfactory transactions in the past.

  • She's a toddler. I assure you, she didn't really notice. :)

  • That's what she said.

  • I got a 2010 core set fat pack today. It was a pretty good deal. It was fun opening all of the boosters lol :)

  • Comment removed

  • How did you figure this all out? Jesus your good.

  • do have to buy this on the internet, or could i get it a card store?

  • have you done a Future Sight Box because just recently i was at my local card store to draft they had one pack of Future Sight and i bought it and i jokingly said hey maybe it will have a Tarmogoyf in it and speak of the devil i pulled one out it was awesome so yea i want more of them so i was just wondering if you have done future sight?

  • Yess. I Got a Ajani Goldmane. The Next Pack Liliana.Next Pack Another Ajani Goldmane

  • Wow what the fucking hell, never buying a booster on ebay again.

  • lol same. just getting booster boxes / singles.. man

  • this is awesome. nice vid

  • Hey, do you got to FNM,Regionals,Nationals, other tournements?

  • Yes, I go to tournaments. :)

  • you sell the unopened packs, that is the secret get the money and dump the jank! does the bar code square on the back indicate anything?

  • the box toppers could screw with your mapping

  • this has always been done with Magic that is why I quit buying cards becuase they are not random. the Uncommon sets and rares are always the same pair and your get double of the same and since box toppers we get more of them they are uncommon/rare to me.

  • I don't really get the "strategy".. Okay, so you can predict what you open but other than that.. what does that help with really?

  • if your a card store owner, u can pull out all the packs with mystics and what not to put to sell as singles, while u put all the other crap rares up for sale as packs

  • Awesome demo

  • does the first edition book have the mapping for magic 2010

  • No. The book came out in 2008, so M10 did not exist yet when it was published. There is an ebook expansion module for M10 that costs $9.99 extra. Combined with the book, you'll be all set! :)

  • i see ajani and jace in the corner there

  • Dude thank you so much. this totally changes how i view buying my cards.

i was gonna get the cheap packs on the web and then i was like hmm let me see if they could b cheating me. sure enough u showed me how.

  • Are you Seth Rogen?

  • Yes, actually. But my real name is Ross Edwards. Seth Rogen is just my stage name. There was already a Ross Edwards in the Screen Actors' Guild.

  • @Svvadekk Dude ive been watching all his videos and after i first saw it i was like seth rogen....and he never shows his face ever...seth rogen it could be...

  • Id just like to say to all the store owners out there: dont try this... yes it will work, but if your players so much as suspect your pulling something like this... sadly the retail value of packs online is already essentially 0 because of this.

  • i thought magic was complicated before! thanks for blowing my mind man! this is soooooo advantages for hobby shop owners its not even funny!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to buy that damn book right now! if you have a sitte where i can buy it at, plz inform me thx!

  • see this is why i never did pokemon or magic or any card collecting thing... its all bullshit fokes! a dealer could use his strategy and sell packs with nothing in them and then sell the rares individually

  • From the info to the right of this very video:

"This book is meant to level the playing field on the secondary market, where I feel dealers have been taking advantage of players' lack of knowledge of the production aspects of Magic for far too long."

But hey, thanks for catching us fokes up on things. ¬_¬

  • waste of money -.-

  • How so?

  • are you mike teeveee from charlie and the chocolate factory?

  • not to sound stupid or mean but

cant ya just open em all?

i mean u dont get as much of the thrill of opening packs lol

  • When you don't open the junk packs, you save money. Money can be exchanged for goods and services, such as more packs. :)

  • stfu noob

  • nice planeswalkers on the bottom left there

    i got a magic 2010 white core and i got 2 lightwielders

    =]

and i got a pack which had drowned catacomb

  • The M10 module is what contains the map for M10. The core set will explain in further detail other sets and their maps.

  • hey, ross, i want to buy your digital copy, but which should i buy? the m10, or the core set one?

  • im so jealous you get to open so many boosters lol you should send me like, 5 boosters lol.

  • 1 dual out of the entire box? Seems fishy to me...

  • After buying the book and watching these... Everything he does make sense.

  • No, this is legit, it's been confirmed by other people. He just got unlucky (just because he can open only the packs with the good stuff, doesn't mean he'll get whatever he wants!)

  • Out of curiosity, how many boxes/cases do you have to open to map these out?

  • M10 took about 3.5 cases when all the verification was said and done. Shards took the same. 10th Edition was verified 100% in less than 2 cases! Planar Chaos took a lot more, maybe 4 or 5 cases.

  • Thank you so freakin much! XD
