Blindly following the dictates of the Dalai Lama, as with any religious leader, is a mistake. Buddha himself said to always question, and not to accept things he said just because he was a spiritual leader, but always to examine, be critical, investigate, and see if the teaching has merit. So far, I've not been able to find any merit in the DL's banning of this Protector. Blindly accepting his "ban" is a betrayal of the practice of Dharma, so I'm going to follow my own research and conscience.

Pabongkha introduced this practice in Gelug school less than a hundred years ago to promote Gelug sectarianism. They were quite influential in the 1930´s, 1940´s and 1950´s - but not anymore. Tibetan Buddhism, including Gelug school, is non-sectarian. DS- groups are now working with the PRC to undermine the Dalai Lama... They´ve been involved in crimes and murder.

For the controversy to be over, the Dalai Lama needs to simply stop his persecution of Dorje Shugden practitioners. The most influential Gelugpa Lamas of the last generations practiced Dorje Shugden, and say that he is a Buddha. The 101st Ganden Tripa... who's SPIRITUAL position actually outranks that of the Dalai Lama within the Gelugpa Tradition, has recently joined Shar Ganden monastary which openly practices Dorje Shugden. This was quite a public slap in the face to the Dalai Lama's view.

Pabonkha gave the Gelug sectarians a Gelug protector last century. (´The practice started with his own teacher´s vision. ) It´s not Tsongkhapa´s tradition. The main Dharma protector is Kalarupa.
The Yellow Book written by Zemey Rinpoche is based on Trijang Rinpoche´s words. Trijang Rinpoche had no objections when it was published in the 1970´s. It´s all about Gelug sectarianism, very controversial. And you´re wrong, Ling Rinpoche did not encourage Shugden practice.

Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Je Tsongkhapa they are the same person performing different functions. Many Dorje Shugden sadhanas state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the Guru, Yidam, and Protector, where Guru refers specifically to Lama Tsongkhapa.
Thus, many cannot accept what Dalai Lama is saying about Dorje Shugden when there are so many evidence pointing to Dorje Shugden's enlightened nature.

as having bit of knowledge about this subject, let me mention some points
1.Buddhism at core is a individual behavioral and decipiline religion rather than a god/deity worship.
2.Dalai Lama never opposed worshiping individually. he just doesn't want anything to do with this particular deity.
3.The reason tibetans don't like the followers is that they tend to be violent. deity followers killed 3 outspoken critics in 1997. if you commit murder, even having living Buddha as teacher, wont matter.

Blindly following the dictates of the Dalai Lama, as with any religious leader, is a mistake. Buddha himself said to always question, and not to accept things he said just because he was a spiritual leader, but always to examine, be critical, investigate, and see if the teaching has merit. So far, I've not been able to find any merit in the DL's banning of this Protector. Blindly accepting his "ban" is a betrayal of the practice of Dharma, so I'm going to follow my own research and conscience.

Followers of both Dorje Shugden and the Dalai Lama accuse one another of violent attacks, with apparent merit on both sides. I still have not found more than allegations about the affiliation of people like Lobsang Yeshi with China (who denies any official Chinese sponsorship himself). It is hard to tell what is true here.

Once, one of them even cussed me out in Chinese, lol. They are not supposed to use ANY Chinese language on Shugden sites; but many of them are very young and can't help themselves.

The practice is NOT prohibited. That´s why it´s not correct to call it a "ban".
They can practice in their own monasteries.
Pabongkha introduced this practice in Gelug school less than a hundred years ago to promote Gelug sectarianism. They were quite influential in the 1930´s, 1940´s and 1950´s - but not anymore. Tibetan Buddhism, including Gelug school, is non-sectarian. DS- groups are now working with the PRC to undermine the Dalai Lama... They´ve been involved in crimes and murder.

The two main suspects managed to escape to Chinese controlled Tibet. In 2007 Interpol issued red notices for extraditing the two men. With China´s support DS activists got away with murder. The suspects were never apprehended, never went to trial.

There is a married clergy living within the population called ngakpas.

@peace646 I can say from direct experience you are mistaken. I have practiced Dorje Shugden for 15 years and i'm pretty sure i'm not "evil" nor have I "destroyed anything" as you seem to be sure this practice causes. I also am not a slave to money... because I don't have any!!

The most influential Gelugpa Lamas of the last generations practiced Dorje Shugden, and say that he is a Buddha. The 101st Ganden Tripa... who's SPIRITUAL position actually outranks that of the Dalai Lama within the Gelugpa Tradition, has recently joined Shar Ganden monastary which openly practices Dorje Shugden. This was quite a public slap in the face to the Dalai Lama's view.

Even the Dalai Lama himself composed a praise to Dorje Shugden entitled "Melody of the unceasing Vajra" Please look it up, it's quite beautiful.

Pabonkha gave the Gelug sectarians a Gelug protector last century. (´The practice started with his own teacher´s vision. ) It´s not Tsongkhapa´s tradition. The main Dharma protector is Kalarupa.
The Yellow Book written by Zemey Rinpoche is based on Trijang Rinpoche´s words. Trijang Rinpoche had no objections when it was published in the 1970´s. It´s all about Gelug sectarianism, very controversial. And you´re wrong, Ling Rinpoche did not encourage Shugden practice.

i am buddhist but not tibetan.. i think their idea that dalai lama is easily called the buddha is not true buddhism.. they even said hes god, and this is totally wrong.. although buddha is in everyone, we should never easily declare someone to be buddha or bodhsiatva.. this leads to arrogance in the named person, and subservience in the naming person.. tibetan buddhism mixed too much local polytheistic practices into itself.. but true buddhism is non-theistic and values humility and compassion.

It is sad that even in this day and age he could be playing old political games. He gives speeches of tolerance, peace, and non-violence in the West, yet back home it is another situation. It is terrible that the monks had to take votes, build a barrier wall, hate flyers, etc. In a way, I could understand them not wanting these monks coz they r worship' someone that the monastery does not believe in. But the discriminations and persecutions outside of it in the community is intolerable.

The more they Ban Dorje Shugden the more famous He becomes and the more Dorje Shugden centres grow and grow. Take for example now we have Shar Gaden with many great high Lamas defecting like HH Gaden Trisur the 101th Gaden Tripa ex-throne holder of Lama Tsongkhapa's seat, Gaden Trisur.

There are Shugden practitioners everywhere - and i'm sure like in every religion or faith, there are good and bad examples of followers of the faith. Whether people are criminals or not is not for me to judge but the courts and of course - their karma so i don't need to worry about whether they will get justice or not.

Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Je Tsongkhapa they are the same person performing different functions. Many Dorje Shugden sadhanas state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the Guru, Yidam, and Protector, where Guru refers specifically to Lama Tsongkhapa.
Thus, many cannot accept what Dalai Lama is saying about Dorje Shugden when there are so many evidence pointing to Dorje Shugden's enlightened nature.

Makes you wonder - what is one person doing only 24/7, posing as different people, just to DISS the Dalai Lama.
Hmm, the only other people doing that are Chinese mainlanders working for the Propaganda Department.

There has to be something wrong from their side when they stress so much this forging of a relationship, but you can't actually meet Gyatso and talk to him! At Samye Ling, which I visited often at one time, the lamas came down to the kitchen and had a coffee quite often with the residents. Other groups I have been to their top brass is approachable at most reasonable times. KG is a recluse and the people around him are sycophants.

Dorje Shugden practitioners got themselves into trouble for being in the way of Dalai's family business.
All DL's brothers and sisters hold important positions that control the funds from CIA and donations. Shugden practitioners know too much of DL's family business.
