I want to buy a VLX but I don't know if it has enough power to it. My fried has a Shadow Spirit with 750cc and I think it has decent power. If I get one and upgrade the exhaust will I be pushing more power than 750cc ? Any mods that can be done to the VLX that will make it push more than 750cc?? Thanks!!!
I just put these pipes on my shadow i lovem they have the perfect tone i was looking for. Why does your bike blow the blue flame out when you rev it up? mine doesnt do that lol i didnt jet the carbs or put a knn on mine tho what you got on this bike?
this was bofore I put on the jet Parts... Iso grips , Iso driver pegs, Iso passenger pegs, Iso brake cover, Iso shifter cover Peg adapters, Blinker bezels, Ellipse mirrors Swing arm covers , Run-turn-brake module Reservoir cover, Switch box housing Sprocket cover, Accent strips , Air filter Cover Oil dipstick, Rear axle cover, Radiator cover Engine guard, License plate frame Vance & Hines Cruizers exhaust Sissy bar sissy bar adapters Sissy bar backrest , Custom LED lighting
Whatever you do don't get the Cobra's I have had the slash cuts on my bike for a while and since having them the heat shields between baffles and head have come loose it rattles like a mother and also one of the external heat shields fell off on the freeway scared the crap outta me plus the ends discolor pretty fast but that could have been previous owners fault
I just had these pipes put on today. With the baffles in the bike sounds pretty good at idol and sounds excellent when your riding. I did jet the carbs which without a doubt increased the bikes performance. I would imagine that removing these baffles would be a slight case of overkill.
Man I would totally get these pipes if I knew that they wouldn't be louder than my audio system, and I'm almost sure they will be. They're really badass but I might go with Cobra shotgun pipes if they're slightly more silent.
ok thanks man how hard is it to re jet the clx cuz i got same bike do you have to take alot off or is it fairly simple cuz i know basic stuff about my bike but not much about carbs would it be safe to do this and what kinda of jet kit did you get and where the instructions good to show u how to do it ?
so hey man im about to buy these pipes and i really need to know do i have to get a jet kit cuz they look hard to install and if i could go without it would be best but i dont wont to hurt my bike in anyway so is it a must or a want to have jet kit with these pipes
I did no re-jet mine. for a few months and it ran great without re-jetting, I slapped in the new jets and it ran even better, so the answer is No you don't HAVE to but i'm glad I did.
I just purchased and installed a pair of the Vance and Hines "Cruisers" on my 2003 VLX Deluxe. The sound clip on this sight does not do it justice at all. They are VERY DEEP and have a VERY SMOOOOOOOOOOTh Grumble. DO NOT TAKE THE BAFFLES OUT! They are plenty LOUD with them in. No comparison to the stock Honda pipes. Sounds better than a Harley with screamin' eagles on it. Throttle response is higher and it feels more like a 700. $350 and worth every penny.
Increase, when ever you increase engine flow it requires less effort for intake and exhaust strokes. however, it will decrease MPG if you do the jet kit.
if you are looking for new pipes, look no further. the Vance and Hines "cruisers" are BY FAR the best sounding pipes, i had no idea a 600 could sound as good as it does... once i got them i installed them right away, fired it up at 11:00 and was completely blown away by the sound. I have not done much performance upgrades (most "upgrades" are actually downgrades ie. "hypercharger") but i have done A LOT cosmetically. but there is a noticeable difference in increased power with these pipes
thanks, they are called "Cruisers" by Vance and Hines. in all honesty i was blown away, i had no idea a 600 could make the sound these pipes produced. a noticeable power gain as well =)
