is there a "simple" way to play this game? I have friends who dont get the concept and thought could i get rid of some stuff and change the rules a bit to maybe make the game a bit more easy?
the Zerg were created by the Xel'naga <-- however you spell it. the same goes for the protoss. what you're talking about their relations with humans is that they are "attracted" toward the psychic emissions from the terran ghosts and the terrans used psi emitters to test them on colonies. basically a sort of mind control thing...that was a long explanation...

Once it does ill answer your questions from the Rule Book. Just be patient as it was shipped via USPS Flat Rate shipping so it might take awhile. :(
