  • WUSB is not based in Connecticut. It's on Long Island on the Stony Brook University campus, though it had a strong signal that could be picked up easily across Long Island Sound.

The transmitter was moved a little further south in the early 1990's, but you should still be able to get the station up there.

  • Thank you. I corrected the description: Stony Brook, NY.

  • Some comments on the stations

WSHU is a powerful NPR station with local news bureaus in Fairfield (Sacred Heart Univ. campus) and Long Island.

WWYZ is now a country station

WLYQ became WGMX (AC) in the mid 1980's, but settled on classic rock first as WEFX now WFOX 95.9 The Fox

WIOF, once owned by Merv Griffin was an AC station going Hot AC in 1992 as WYSR Star 104. Now it's Alternative WMRQ

WDJF in 1984 went from eclectic to gold based AC as the popular and number one ranked WEBE 108

  • @NEPatriot How about WWPT?

  • @psyjpg. WWPT is at 02:12

  • @TechnerVideo Seems like WWPT comes in clearer than the stations next to it. Was it that powerful?

  • @NEPatriot WLYQ was Q-86?
