@ATVCOM yeah,I know all this but thats why I was thinking about it since banshees are faster but only a little, not a lot and the 250r has its great handling and power,I'll just have to look into it
@jakers388 That's right. It's really a decision you'll have to make for yourself...I had Banshees, but I preferred the sand dunes and the deserts to the tracks.
@ATVCOM whats better for trails some mud and some water but not alot, the banshee or the trx 250r?Because I really want a powerful 2 stroke but is good for all of this.
@jakers388 Way different machines! The 250R is quick handling and smaller feeling. The Banshee is more long-legged and faster. But you'll love either one. Just get a clean one or you'll be working on it all the time.
hello my name is joshua and i was wondering...do you guys know a good automatic transnission racing atv even semi auto would be fine a 700cc is a bit too mutch power for me and 250cc is a bit low please respond
@ATVTVCOM Hey !I cant decide between 2003 Banshee and 2003 Wolverine 350!I'm looking atv that is good for trail riding and having fun!Which one should I take,oh and yes, will banshee beat grizzly 660 and/or brute force 750!?
@maracuja363 Two TOTALLY different machines - the Banshee a very high-strung performance 2-stroke, and the Wolverine a mild 4wd trail bike. Iguess a Banshee would easily beat a BF or Grizz in a drag race or around a track. Or though the dunes.
two strokes can easily be made to meet epa regs now. and if emissions regs are such an issue then why can we still buy 2-stroke motocross bikes? Also, your review of the Banshee was like reading a yamaha pamphlet.
husky's new cr125 meets euro 5 standards using a regular old carb. check it out. the 2 strokes are getting a little bit of attention and development overseas.

Hello I am looking to buy a 84 banshee with a 87 yfz350f engine needs a new stator which is about 500$. The machine will cost 1100$. Should I reconsider this and get a newer one or go with this one?
@blitch7722 but i can you should look foward to getina newer model dew to all the mods and upgrades availible. The newer banshees have updated frames and are easy to handle thanks to modern technology.
If you have anymore question I would be proud to help.
Alright so I've got a Trx450r and can't stand it. I was wondering if it would be worth it to trade for a Yamaha Banshee. My plan is to do some Mx racing which sounds crazy to do on a 2-Stroke but I've seen it done by someone. However, I've never really ridden a 2-stroke ATV and I don't wanna end up with another quad I have to try and sell. This one's pretty modded out and it's an 04. Thanks
@BWRProductions While the Banshee would be pretty good in the dunes and the desert, it wouldn't be that good against the newer crop on MXers on the track.
@ATVTVCOM I understand, but are you talking about the engine or the frame geometry? I plan to redo the front end completely and widen the whole quad. I was more concerned about power. However I read an article in Dirt Wheels magazine and they had found a EFI kit for the Banshee that isn't too expensive. I would probably install that if it makes any difference.
@BWRProductions Geometry and powerband both are far less favorable on the race track. You could do all kinds of work to the Banshee but you'll still have an old machine up against the newest technology.
@BWRProductions i have a banshee, and i am the second owner, this bike is mint.. i willing to consider trading it for a trx450 because my friends and I will ride all day and i can't carry mixed gas. So im looking to get a 4 stroke that i can run pump gas in.
@BWRProductions Most 2 stroke quads are more set up for the dunes and going fast, your best bet for more power and great handling for mx racing would be a Polaris Predator 500, at least in my views. It's hard to click "Post" though, cuz i'm a 2 stroke extremist lol
It would great if you could do a Old School sport quad test. All old 2 strokes.
TRX 250R vs LT 250 vs Tecate 250 and then maybe a open class Older Banshee VS the legendary LT500R. This is assuming you can find enough well taken care of near stock machines. If it can be done you would be the only show/magazine to cover it. Seeing a review of the old LT500r would be awesome.
Im sure you can find some owners that wouldnt mind loning their rides if need be.
@ATVTVCOM If you do it I'm almost positve it will be very popular especially in all the forums and with those who remember when 2 strokes ruled the sport catagory. Even if it where a special of how for we have came in the industry. Say YFZ 450 vs TRX 250r. Many newer younger riders no very little about the roots of our sport.
@omarlekphet alot more maintenace on my z 400 haveing to shim the valves every weekend got old...??? but i loved the rollon 4stroke power of the z just to much work on it..i guess any high performance motor has its upkeep
im still a young kid but 2006 dont seem so bad to me if i ever had to get it i could easily probably find a second hand then just rebuild and replace pieces for it to be new.
@ATVTVCOM Yeah good answer. And on top of that, Its probably one of the most reliable 2 stroke atv engines I have ever come across. I heard of people getting 10 years and hundred and hundreds of hours before they need rebuilt.
@JISINSANE3 The BAnshee and the 250R will go down in history that's for sure! I feel sorry for any of the 'new kids' that never had the chance to take one of them for a blast through tHe sand dunes!
@ATVTVCOM Thats for sure man, That powerband and sound!, Let me get this out of the way for others, All engines need rebuilt, The 2 stroke more so, But its far cheaper and easier for a rebuild. If you don't know anything about engines, ATVING is not for you. The banshee is so reliable as a 2 stroke, WHY? cause its a motorcycle engine slaped in a ATV. It's designed for long reving at highway speeds. Typical rebuild for a top end is about $250 and thats a long way out if you know engines.
@JISINSANE3 Put quite a few miles on an RZ350 back in my youth - what an incredible motorcycle! I loved to terrorize the CB's with it....Until the Kawasaki triple came out it was pretty much king.
@ATVTVCOM hey well i just bought a banshee thats been rebuilt with wiseco pistons and stuff but i love it.how long do you think a full tank of fuel last?
@jcumiford14 Its true that the Banshees 2 stroke, like other 2 strokes need to have top end rebuilt after about 80-100 hours... But,compared to other 4 wheelers like the 4 strokes, its cheap horse power.... Look at it this way, when its time for a rebuild, thats your chance to ported and polished and go all out with perfomance inside your 2 stroke engine, just do some research and go on ebay to get top notch pistons, rings, ect!!!
lol i have never heard anyone say anything bad about the banshee. in my opinion that was some great engineering by Yamaha never seen a bike on youtube where noone has said anything bad about (haha)
I have 2 shees one i picked up for 2700 thats a 04 410 stroker runnin 110 octane with 75hp and another thats a 95 has the basic mods with stock bore runnin on 93 octane for only 900 i can garuntee you wont find a 450 er whatever that can touch me in a race for that price thats what i like the money i saved i could almost go get a tricked out racin motor with 125hp lol and the only quad to touch me would be another shee
your leavin out single cylinder motors trx 86-89 dude those motors with a esr jug 70-80hp easy with a much wider power ban more torque to dont forget those bikes
X1boomer did you no the 450s are barely doin over 70 stock there really not that fast for a 'race ready quad' and bein 50ccs bigger than the shee i really dont think thats that great you are right though about the zilla it is faster than a shee stock there a great fun 2 stroke quad
Oh while the raptor700 is an aswome wheeler it is not the fastest production quad gotta look at the big 4x4 atvs like the thudercat and the other monster quads there faster for the simple fact that they have taller gears taller tires and alot bigger displacement. And to be honest idk really how much faster the 700r is than the shee cause the 660r gets smoked by the shee stock fer stock but obviously it gets it at the top but It should lol
The banshee is an excellent bike if yer into 2 strokes like myself. The shee stock is pretty fast at approx 75 for a 350 and with all 'older' technology its fun. personally im a huge fan i have 2 so far and have never rode a faster quad. Ive ridden the fastest stock production atvs but nothin beats the power quickness looks the aftermarket parts and the smell of a nasty little 2 stroke screamin out some racin fuel fumes
suzuki lt 500 quadzilla, ltr 450, yfz 450,ktm 450 atvs are quicker. when u start tearing in to the engine then its who ever has a larger bank account and can ride. i love banshees, and its truly is a one of kind atv, but in stock form cant beat newer 450's
go by what atv you like the most as well as what make these quads diff 2 stroke is more maint. but simple 4 stroke is less maint. But more parts to fix or repair or upgrade as far as power a 2 stroke is faster it produces more hp and is designed for higher rpms while the 4 is good at all ranges of rpm but lacks the powerban of the 2 stk and especially the shee think about what skill of a rider you are and decide what type of riding you are gonna do
4 strokes sound great burn less fuel and are easy to take care of. but i gotta say banshees are top of the line when it cums to atvs. it doesnt take much to make them fast and it rides undescribibly smooth. wish they stil made them
All they have to do is make a direct injected 2 stroke engine and it will be less polutant, better on fule, more powerfull, and more reliable than any curent four or two stroke out there. Just like the outbord motors for boats
Whats a stock banshees horsepower? n a stock yfz's? in the dunes whts better (all stock) banshee or yfz or yfz 450r? n does sand tires make a big difference on any of these bike? plz reply
Don't know the stock horsepower figures. A stock YFZ450R is a much better handling ATV with much better power delivery. It's a lot better for the dunes. (Don't get me wrong, the Banshee is an incredibly fun duner but overall I would prefer the YFZ). PAddles are a personal call. We all prefer no paddles around here.

@jcumiford14 It's a 2-stroke! They are an old engine and very sensitive. They require top-end rebuilds. But it's a 2-stroke!
ATVTVCOM 1 year ago
@ATVTVCOM Yeah good answer. And on top of that, Its probably one of the most reliable 2 stroke atv engines I have ever come across. I heard of people getting 10 years and hundred and hundreds of hours before they need rebuilt.
JISINSANE3 1 year ago
@JISINSANE3 The BAnshee and the 250R will go down in history that's for sure! I feel sorry for any of the 'new kids' that never had the chance to take one of them for a blast through tHe sand dunes!
ATVTVCOM 1 year ago
@ATVTVCOM Thats for sure man, That powerband and sound!, Let me get this out of the way for others, All engines need rebuilt, The 2 stroke more so, But its far cheaper and easier for a rebuild. If you don't know anything about engines, ATVING is not for you. The banshee is so reliable as a 2 stroke, WHY? cause its a motorcycle engine slaped in a ATV. It's designed for long reving at highway speeds. Typical rebuild for a top end is about $250 and thats a long way out if you know engines.
JISINSANE3 1 year ago
@JISINSANE3 Put quite a few miles on an RZ350 back in my youth - what an incredible motorcycle! I loved to terrorize the CB's with it....Until the Kawasaki triple came out it was pretty much king.
ATVTVCOM 1 year ago
@ATVTVCOM hey well i just bought a banshee thats been rebuilt with wiseco pistons and stuff but i love it.how long do you think a full tank of fuel last?
jcumiford14 1 year ago
@jcumiford14 Not long enough!
ATVTVCOM 1 year ago
@jcumiford14 hahaha.ya your right it isnt good on gas but it sure if a ton of fun to ride.
jcumiford14 1 year ago
@jcumiford14 Its true that the Banshees 2 stroke, like other 2 strokes need to have top end rebuilt after about 80-100 hours... But,compared to other 4 wheelers like the 4 strokes, its cheap horse power.... Look at it this way, when its time for a rebuild, thats your chance to ported and polished and go all out with perfomance inside your 2 stroke engine, just do some research and go on ebay to get top notch pistons, rings, ect!!!
Sniperman1964 1 year ago
i know this dosen't really go with the video but are the warrior 350's good on gas???
165427 1 year ago
@165427 Yes. BAnshees are at the far other end of that spectrum.

I have 2 shees one i picked up for 2700 thats a 04 410 stroker runnin 110 octane with 75hp and another thats a 95 has the basic mods with stock bore runnin on 93 octane for only 900 i can garuntee you wont find a 450 er whatever that can touch me in a race for that price thats what i like the money i saved i could almost go get a tricked out racin motor with 125hp lol and the only quad to touch me would be another shee
rednose70 2 years ago
your leavin out single cylinder motors trx 86-89 dude those motors with a esr jug 70-80hp easy with a much wider power ban more torque to dont forget those bikes
GeaserakaErik 2 years ago
X1boomer did you no the 450s are barely doin over 70 stock there really not that fast for a 'race ready quad' and bein 50ccs bigger than the shee i really dont think thats that great you are right though about the zilla it is faster than a shee stock there a great fun 2 stroke quad
rednose70 2 years ago
Oh while the raptor700 is an aswome wheeler it is not the fastest production quad gotta look at the big 4x4 atvs like the thudercat and the other monster quads there faster for the simple fact that they have taller gears taller tires and alot bigger displacement. And to be honest idk really how much faster the 700r is than the shee cause the 660r gets smoked by the shee stock fer stock but obviously it gets it at the top but It should lol
rednose70 2 years ago
The banshee is an excellent bike if yer into 2 strokes like myself. The shee stock is pretty fast at approx 75 for a 350 and with all 'older' technology its fun. personally im a huge fan i have 2 so far and have never rode a faster quad. Ive ridden the fastest stock production atvs but nothin beats the power quickness looks the aftermarket parts and the smell of a nasty little 2 stroke screamin out some racin fuel fumes
rednose70 2 years ago
banshee is still the king of the dunes get it straight
yamahabanshee2001 2 years ago 28
How about saying that the Banshee is still a great ATV for the dunes;-)
ATVTVCOM 2 years ago

crosser041091 2 years ago
suzuki lt 500 quadzilla, ltr 450, yfz 450,ktm 450 atvs are quicker. when u start tearing in to the engine then its who ever has a larger bank account and can ride. i love banshees, and its truly is a one of kind atv, but in stock form cant beat newer 450's
x1boomer 2 years ago
go by what atv you like the most as well as what make these quads diff 2 stroke is more maint. but simple 4 stroke is less maint. But more parts to fix or repair or upgrade as far as power a 2 stroke is faster it produces more hp and is designed for higher rpms while the 4 is good at all ranges of rpm but lacks the powerban of the 2 stk and especially the shee think about what skill of a rider you are and decide what type of riding you are gonna do
rednose70 2 years ago
4 strokes sound great burn less fuel and are easy to take care of. but i gotta say banshees are top of the line when it cums to atvs. it doesnt take much to make them fast and it rides undescribibly smooth. wish they stil made them
trx450rider13 2 years ago
All they have to do is make a direct injected 2 stroke engine and it will be less polutant, better on fule, more powerfull, and more reliable than any curent four or two stroke out there. Just like the outbord motors for boats

Whats a stock banshees horsepower? n a stock yfz's? in the dunes whts better (all stock) banshee or yfz or yfz 450r? n does sand tires make a big difference on any of these bike? plz reply
gilbertx12 2 years ago
Don't know the stock horsepower figures. A stock YFZ450R is a much better handling ATV with much better power delivery. It's a lot better for the dunes. (Don't get me wrong, the Banshee is an incredibly fun duner but overall I would prefer the YFZ). PAddles are a personal call. We all prefer no paddles around here.
ATVTVCOM 2 years ago
paddles r a must in sand dunes
Dominickyfz 2 years ago
Actually we much prefer riding the dunes without them.
