@springjo1 I like the Darin' version too, but I have to say that I believe Dion's is the best. Haven't you noticed that in every song Dion sings he has such a unique way of pronouncing the lyrics? It makes the song so much more entertaining. It's how you use the voice as an instrument. It's genius, really. Oh, and very, very hard to copy.

The Del-Satins were also Dion's backing group on songs like Runaround Sue and the Majestic. They also recorded for the Laurie label, but on Dion's "solo" records they were usually uncredited. When Dion left the Belmonts to go solo, he recorded a few songs with female backing vocals (e.g. Lonely Teenager), but those songs were less successful, so then Laurie Records let him sing with the Del-Satins, who sounded very similar to the Belmonts. Same studio, same people, same sound.

the tempo & beat on Dion's version is about 10 seconds faster then that of Bobby Darin's version of this song.

they are both great versions, by two exceptionally talented artists.

I personally like Dion's version a little more then Bobby's version.
