  • Bet you pressed repeat...

  • I like Bobby Darin's version better

  • I grew up with Dion and LOVE this song. Thank YOU!

  • still waitin on my dream lover

  • 36 people are unic.

  • Charlie Sheen in Hot Shots. *---------*

  • Dion was one of those singers who could do any cover really well.

  • hot shots :D just saw the film

  • i just love this song. makes me wanna sing and dance :D all the time :D

  • 36 people are crazy cat ladies.

  • Nice work on your post; I especially like the "old film" effects.

  • i rember this from the movie hotshots charlie sheen was on his way to the base he sees remonda rideing her horse

  • recording makes one wonder whether Dion made a Faustian bargain with the dread lord of the infernal regions.

  • Only Dion could take a song that is so obviously 'owned' by Bobby Darin and make it his own. Even more extreme was the case with 'Quarter to Three', one of the finest (and rawest) pieces of Rock 'n Roll ever recorded; yet after Dion and Ernie (Maresca) got through with it, not only did the original pale in comparison, but the resulting song Dion recorded has yet to be matched by anyone for sheer overpowering Lawd-have-mercy R&R badasserie. That this rendition was little more than an acapella ...

  • @LutherMartinIII Any way you could post quarter to three? That would make my day.

  • The Del Satins also backed up Chubby Checker and had a modest hit in NY...Teardrops Follow Me....

  • Dion can sing just about anything, and the Del-Satins are very good also, they sang with the late Johnny Maestro for years.

    Love ya, Dion

  • two members of the del satins sang with the brooklyn bridge. in the late 60,till johney"s death this year.

  • Well, as far as I know, that is.

  • I wish everyone else knew they had the original, also.

  • Great song...Dion was so sexy, he has no bad songs....lol

  • Can't we just listen to this legendary music huh? Stop being pricks

  • I've always considered this song a Bobby Darin song,Dion is in my top5 singers of R&R, he did a fine job on this song.

  • should of been dion and the paramonts

  • dion likes to change what his back up is doesnt he? theyve been the del saints, belmonts and ive heard other ones i cant remeber

  • Favorited!!

  • I don't understand 35 dislikes! Impossible I'm 15 and I put a thumbs up!

  • Happy Birthday Dion!!!!

  • i kinda like del shannon's version better

  • @smileybug14 shoot i meaan bobby darin ahaha

  • I thank Hot Shots! for bringing me here.

  • @springjo1 I like the Darin' version too, but I have to say that I believe Dion's is the best. Haven't you noticed that in every song Dion sings he has such a unique way of pronouncing the lyrics? It makes the song so much more entertaining. It's how you use the voice as an instrument. It's genius, really. Oh, and very, very hard to copy.

  • God, I love a good funereal!

  • Wonder if they can still make that kind of music or if its just by choice that they don't.

I mean maybe the genre played itself out?

  • What year was this one?

  • The darin version is far better, but this still rocks.

  • Love it.....so nostalgic....just loving the 60's!

  • Dion and the Belmonts is the same group as Dion and the Del-Satins. They just changed the group name........

  • me encanta este grupo.... saludos desde España..

  • im looking for a karaoke with this rithym tempo but i can not find it, cause the original its too slow. this one its good for partys

  • There was a singer in the 70s who brought back that late 50s teen idol sound. He was most un-hip for that 70s era and became known as Barely Manenough yet he did have a big following among pre-teen girls and their moms.

  • this reminds me Charlie Sheen on the bike in hot shots. great song !

  • Dion and The Belmonts were so fantastic. Wish they bring music like that back. Music now days really suck.

  • KEEP ON A ROCKIN' 'N' A ROLLIN'

  • WOW!! THIS IS JUST AS GOOD AS BOBBY DARIN'S VERSION...

  • Nice version. New to me. Have always liked Dion, with or without the Belmonts!

  • 29 people have to dream alone!

  • I love this song

  • Thank you. My granny got me into the classic's back when I was a little kid. classic never go out of style. especially music

  • Thank you. My granny got me into the classic's back when I was a little kid.

  • ok this is driving me nuts but I'm trying to figure out a song that sound like this, right when it gets to :21 and he says i want to, the part would go "why, oh Why yi yi yi" in a high pitch voice. I know this might sound confusing but i hope someone can tell mee!!!

  • @TheMuddyMilesTrain That would be Runaway by Del Shannon

  • @ndem763

    thank you!!!!! you're awesome!

  • Very nice remake of a good song!!!!!!!

  • this version sucks only bobby can sing this song worth a fuck

  • Great song from two Bronx boys, Bobby Darin from Bronx School of Science and the very talented, Dion, very nicely done. Great backup from the Del-Satins.

  • This is such a great song, thanks for posting this :p

  • Wow, this sounds amazing on my surround sound headphones. Thanks for uploading.

  • I like the 8mm effect.

  • isnt it "& the belmonts?"

  • @GreaseyKid thanks for the comment, if you notice the image in the video is from Dion and The Belmonts, when I made the video I thought it was Dion and The Belmonts but a very well informed user in youtube sent me a lot of information about my mistake, this particular song was recorded with Dion and The Del-Santis, another backup vocal group for Dion, regards

  • @wolfcuetlachtli

    oh thanks alot man

  • @wolfcuetlachtli yeah Dion abandoned the Belmonts as most succesful singers do with their band I always respected the Rolling Stones Charlie Watts is still a full partner, Bill Wyman would be too if he had wanted to stay

  • @wolfcuetlachtli

The Del-Satins were also Dion's backing group on songs like Runaround Sue and the Majestic. They also recorded for the Laurie label, but on Dion's "solo" records they were usually uncredited. When Dion left the Belmonts to go solo, he recorded a few songs with female backing vocals (e.g. Lonely Teenager), but those songs were less successful, so then Laurie Records let him sing with the Del-Satins, who sounded very similar to the Belmonts. Same studio, same people, same sound.

  • @GreaseyKid U'RE RIGHT BRO.

  • Love it!

  • i miss the belmonts

  • he is doing his first love the blues a few years back he sang at a small church in my city he was terrific

  • screw bobby darin, dion is alive and healthy and an epic like 70 year old!!!!hell ya!!!!! lol

  • is this Busta Rhymes ?

  • Hangi ülke olursa olsun;her ülkenin kendi kültürünü yansıtan büyük sanatçıları mutlaka vardır.Ve hepsinin yeri ayrı ayrı güzeldir tabii ki.

  • i keep finding oldies that i like and i keep finding out its this guy dion. guy was a stud. rip.

  • @bradyischamp........Dion Dimucci is still alive and well in his 70's

  • do they sell dions cds? anywhere?

  • what gave this video the 8mm effect?!

  • @clone63742 I used the windows movie maker, in the effects options there's an effect called vintage or something similar, hope this helps

  • @wolfcuetlachtli it does, and thank you for the post!

  • Dion is one of my patients, saw him yesterday. He is awesome, always was and always will be. plain and simple.

  • @gia1076 awesome, my best wishes to him, lucky to have such a talented patient

  • @gia1076 for real thats cool he has been one of my favorite 50's singers

  • @gia1076 "One of your patients?" Why are you putting Dion on blast? Suppose he doesn't want the world of YouTube to know he's someone's "patient?"

  • @CheckMate657879 Everybody is somebody patient sometime repeat chorus until blue in face.

  • @mottylad2 ; I repeted till I was blue in the face,LOL ! see below

  • @mottylad2 Okay - but everyone doesn't want their "doctors" saying they are a patient - privacy - that sort of thing - I'm sure you know - you ought to, anyway.

  • @CheckMate657879 , really ?? get real. We all are patients somewhere, we are his eye doctors, he gets his glasses from us , not that deep buddy. Anyway ,once again he is awesome! we all love him and Sue!

  • @gia1076 Yes, REALLY! Just because he gets his glasses from you, why should it be publicized? What happened to a client's right to privacy? If you were someone's abortion doctor, would you get on YouTube and announce it? If not, why? And, it is "that deep" - buddy. If you are a doctor, take a refresher course in professionalism and ethics related to making patient information, public.

  • @CheckMate657879 You are comical, now if we're sharing actual medical info , then maybe you'd make some sense because thats the only thing that what you are saying would pertain to. You seem to be the only one on here that reacted this way so what does that tell you? Obviously some real issues on your end. Perhaps you should get to a doctor for some mental health or maybe just get a life. Spoke to him earlier regarding this and he laughed his head off. We both thank you for the laugh!

  • @CheckMate657879 Pretty sure the fact if someone wears glasses or not is not protected. Most people who wear glasses, wear them visibly? Is it wrong to for Nike to say Tiger Woods wears our clothes? Also, its not like he's giving out the eye glass prescription.

  • @CheckMate657879 , really ?? get real. We all are patients somewhere, we are his eye doctors, he gets his glasses from us , not that deep buddy. Anyway ,once again he is awesome! we all love him and Sue!

  • @CheckMate657879 , really ?? get real. We all are patients somewhere, we are his eye doctors, he gets his glasses from us , not that deep buddy. Anyway ,once again he is awesome! Not only as a musician but he is an amazing human being. We all love him and Sue!

  • @gia1076 Wow are you serious? Hope he is in good health!

  • Man I wish I was alive in this time I reckon I would of enjoyed life so much more

  • check out dream lover by uk singer j vincent edwards its right up there with his 2 favorite singers bobby and dion

  • "...every night I hope and pray..."

  • Bobby reigns.....

  • great song...do you have a later version of this song by Dion... the one used on the end credits of the Charlie Sheen film 'Hot Shots' ?

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism Was the Bobby Darin version

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism this is the only version I know, regards

  • @wolfcuetlachtli It's still Dion, he just sings it differently. Unless he's talking about the original by Bobby Darin.

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism

    That was Bobby Darin's version.

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism thats the bobby darin version

  • @ThePolecatz its written by bobby darin, but says "dion" in the credits..

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism haha i know which one, its the one in the bike/horse scene, im looking for it too, but im afraid it only exists in the movie..

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism Bobby Darin sang that version...

  • @GeneVeeAnachronism Referring to the Bobby Darin version? That's the original, but Dion does sing the song another way. I've heard it.

  • okay now is this the same dion from dion and the blemonts and deon and the del saints and any other thing where its dion and some one

  • The Bobby Darin version is far better

  • I prefer this voice to justin bieber's

  • @GreyMongoose did bieber have the audacity to make a version of this song ?

  • Made when music was music and not some pre processed electronic mush, drive ins were real, cars had V8's and people danced properly. May my '55 Seeburg keep playing this great stuff.

  • Made when music was music and not some pre processed electronic mush, drive ins were real, cars had V8's and people danced properly. May my '55 Seeburg keep playing this great stuff.

  • i have this album to sale.

  • Bobby Darin's version is one I remember.

  • Nice version. Never heard this one before.

  • whats that song by a male vocal group where they sing like (i cant remember any lyrics) on the chorus

hey hey, homna hey-d hey, hey hey, homna hey-d hey, hey hey, homna hey-d hey hey, waaaaaaa

in the background a guy goes ohhhhhhhh

  • @nath909 i think your think about runaround sue. from dion

  • @GuttedAtBirth

    thats the one

    cheers

  • ...Dion and The Del-Satins o Dion and The Belmonts?

  • good version man, don't worry we love you anyway!

  • Hot Shots!

  • Much better than the one by Bobby Darin!

  • This is obviously the Belmonts. The Album even says it!!!

  • I like the Del Satins but nobody does this song better than Bobby Darin.

  • i love the 50's and 60's i was born in the 90's but ilove the 50's and 60's music

  • Darin's song is better, but this is better in the pop sense of it.

  • This one rocks more but the original just sings better

  • @scummiebear you need a lesson in class, many songs were done by many artists during that early period in music history. you can't take anything away from either Dion, nor Bobby Darin. I loved them both, you shouldn't be so judgemental. would you like to venture a guess how many artists recorded Louie Louie? sure the kingsmen were the best but that doesn't take away from the talents of others.

  • GREAT!!!

  • again...as i say to every oldie jam that iz beautiful..."oldiez but goodiez at itz finest"!!!!!

  • HOT SHOTS :D

  • I'd say this version is superior the Bobby Darin. Bobby wanted to be a cabaret singer. This is straight 50s pop and Dion and the Belmonts do it superbly!

  • Belmonts had better vocals IMO

  • der Track ist einfach schöööön....:)

  • very dood

    subarashii

  • I think Dion put more feeling into this version then Bobby Darin did.

  • oh wow i love this song . i miss this kind of music!! i hate the music out now like wayne, lil boosie, and all the other retarded people who call themselves artists. i like old school rap better anyway!!! but yeah waht i would give to have these songs play on the radio all day. im only 20 and i love this music so much! it was relaxing and fun to listen to. I HATE RAP NOW-A-DAYS!

  • quality

  • I like this version! Thanks for posting!

  • i like to listen to this on the 50s on5

  • the tempo & beat on Dion's version is about 10 seconds faster then that of Bobby Darin's version of this song.

they are both great versions, by two exceptionally talented artists.

I personally like Dion's version a little more then Bobby's version.

Mainly because i like the slightly faster beat, but also Dion has a smoother voice then Bobby (IMO).

  • album cover says belmonts, post says del satins

  • @hah13, thanks for your words, in the comments section of the video I stated I made a mistake when created the video, by mistake used a picture with the Belmonts, but then a visitor corrected me, so I changed the title, I didn't want to create a new video just changing the image, hope this works for you, cheers

  • @hah13 WORD...HOW CAN YOU FUCK THAT UP? ITS THE BELMONTS WOLDCUETLACHTLI

  • @hah13 Still at school?

  • Are those goose berries in the top left of the album cover?

  • I happen to love this version, tho' B Darin's is good also. Keep up the good work W.

  • Thank you my sweetheart!!! oh JOY!!!! I love you soooo very much,

  • @scummiebear why did you watch this video and then comment on it if it's so bad? talking about respect? practice what you preach cock breath.......

  • @RyeGrog Yeah This Is A Part Of What Made The Great U.S. Well It Was But Nows Music Nothing But Sin...

  • This is a great song,no matter who sings it.But,I named my son Darin!Enough said!

  • @RyeGrog yup. i would go back if i could

  • I am sure Bobby Darin wrote this. I'm torn now..... I love Bobby Darin and I rate Dion DiMucci... Only one way to sort it out...... F I G H T ! !v !

    Ha ha

    Mikey xx

  • @mikeystrafford yeah right!

  • Love this song, the Bobby Darren is better known, but this is just as good, though it is slightly different. Remember this song fondly as I was a mere teenager when it ws first isssued in the UK , the summer of 1959 was one of the warmest on record! GREAT! Brings back fond memories.

  • There's too much-nnnn vocal-ahh noise-nnnn in this version-ah. I prefer Bobby Darin's version.

  • DION!! is playing at The Chicago Theater on June 4th!!

  • What a great song!

  • i'd say dion has a better voice than bobby darin.

  • @willukus yea totally

  • @willukus definetly!

  • @willukus Dion was the bomb. Oozed style too - best of the NYC doo wop leads IMO.

  • @willukus Bobby Darin's life was cut short,so you could't really tell who was better.at the time they were both great.

  • @jeffreystruzyk Dions career was cut short... he was a drop down heroin addict afterall. Comparing both at their prime dion wins hands down imo.

  • @willukus all sixteen of you are lame. Bobby Darin was a million times more talented.

  • they are my favorite boy group of the 50s- early 60's :)
