Just let me get one thing clear: i think our opinion of stylish is different. Stylish does not necessarily mean black tie. This is not the 60's. Besides, I think that that style of clothing would attract a different audience than the one jamie is aiming for. Like Thatguy301 said, Jamies style is just in style, like the stuff people wear every day, nothing too fancy.

I personally like this look much better than the stiff suits the old jazz-musicians wore.

not that I consider Jamie's look to be good but it is "in style"; whats wrong with being stylish and a jazz musician? Granted, the two rarely meet up but if they happend to there shouldn't be a problem. Look at Herbie Hancock (not from pre-90s), he dresses stylishly and appropriately but he's an amazing musician.
