@stalkingalizee there is always a place in the RAF for the c-130 it will be ages until it goes out of service completely. the a400m is only taking over some of the roles of the c-130. the a400m is also bigger and doesnt have the full capability of shorter landing and take off which the c-130 has.
@slfc1996 C-130Js are leaving RAF in 2022 and the older ones being removed immediately as the A400Ms come in. A400M does have short-take off and landing capability. I guess you didn't watch it at Farnborough last year.

@stalkingalizee there is always a place in the RAF for the c-130 it will be ages until it goes out of service completely. the a400m is only taking over some of the roles of the c-130. the a400m is also bigger and doesnt have the full capability of shorter landing and take off which the c-130 has.

Since independence, the US has only fought 11 or 12 major wars (something like that). In that time, Great Britain fought nearly 100. All of the wars started in this century were causes of international significance hence our taking part in coalition conflicts, while Britain maintained an personal imperial policy throughout the first half of the century.

And WW2 we only retreated at Dunkirk and then recooperated, we held out quite happily for 2 years whilst you continued to remain out of it. Now yankee doodle, had the american school system actually taught you ANYTHING about ANYONE ELSE then you would know that many British troops were left in France and many French troops saved, we're talking tens of thousands. So we didn't abandon them.
Anyway it was them who capitulated not us, we had to fall back and rearm before going on the offensive again.

The Germans were the most professional, best equipped, best led soldiers of WW2, the US army was not in the same league as the Wehrmacht & SS. It was a British & Commonwealth victory & the Yanks had nothing to do with it. We saved ourselves, and Europe ultimately. Had we lost, or capitulated there could never have been a D-Day operation. Secondly, the Russians did vastly more damage to the Wehrmacht than the US did. Russia lost 20 million soldiers in WW2. The US actually lost FEWER than the British-google it.

At least we had emergency crews and volunteers who were willing to go in and risk their own lives to save others. Still, americans tend to get taught that America is the best place in the world and every other place in the world couldn't cope without America. Perhaps you should be taught facts instead.

The US would've had to compete against Germany (probably with much of the Royal navy that they would;ve captured) and Japan which may have succeded in invading India, without British forces.
