I really think sony did the UMD free concept of the PSP GO! they made it very small for portability, they made the slide design to maximize the size and make it smaller than any regular PSP . and lastly why they took off the UMD on this device. is because of the WORD "GO" you dont want to travel carrying some fragile UMDs and instead of making everything light and portable for you, you have to carry many UMDs. worst 1 per game. so do you agree or disagree in my opinion?

I think if you dropped it when its open it would break but if close you pretty secured. and if you cab back up all of it with you PC, PS3, or M2 memory card. im going to take all percaution and play sitting down, back it up on my PC, and M2 card. The thing about the psp go is that if you don't have internet you wont be able to get it so I think its better to just get the psp 3000 or 3004 instead

I know for a fact you won't lose your games. 1. It gets saved on your PSN account and 2. The PSP go comes with computer software to store all your media.

@TheCIScommander Even though you can in fact download the exact same games across all PSP devices, There are probably a lot of people who like the new form factor. I -hate- how massive and awkward the older PSPs are (having owned all three previous iterations), so the much smaller design is actually quite a boon. The PlayStation Go is amazing. I got it for 1200$ with 10 games. I downgraded it from firmware 6.39 to 6.35 PRO-B5. Now I can play homebrews and pirated games dowloaded from TBH. The games on PlayStation Store are so fucking expensive and most of them sucks, that's why I'm running CFW. I love to play CSPSP with my friends. The graphic could be better but it's not so important. It's only missing two analog sticks for shooter games. I can't understand why people are comparing iPhone 4 to PSP go.

I am a psp go owner. Got it used at gamestop for only a 100 bucks. i love it. street fighter alpha 3 max was only 10 bucks.
Build quality is amazing best screen, sound(speakers), buttons and more importantly to fighting game fans like my self much improved d-pad vs. the previous iterations.
Over all i think it is a great buy. US journalists just have bad taste. But coming from a person that pre ordered the original psp in 2005 this is the best psp thus far. And for $100 used. i am pleased

He failed to mention that you can share the downloaded games for your psp on other psp systems, so if you have two psp and download a game, it would be like buying it for both.
I hate the psp go. Bought it new from amazon on the release date and the thing had a dead pixel line going straight through the top of the screen! And I couldn't even return it :(
@The6031968 neither. if you could wait so long for a psp wait for another 10 months cause the new psp2 is coming out. its not a remake of the current psp like the ones previously released. its an actual upgrade with a touch screen and supposedly the game graphics will be comparable to that of a ps3
if you download them to your pc and "move" them over to the PSP, and then you lose your PSP - let's say you buy a new one, would you then be able to "move" it over again, without buying it again?
It's exacly the same as the PSP 3000, only that it has no UMD, a Clock and Callender when you slide it down, 16 GB which is acturly about 14 GB I think due to the ... and it uses M2 memory card and has Bluetooth. Also it has that feature where you can pause the game and go to home screen and then resume. The anolog stick has more resistance some people find it better some people find it worse. The screen is smaller but is very nice just like the 3000 but looks slightly crisper due size. that it.
Dumbass.... Plug it into your pc and make many backups of ur games duh!? I Honestly love this system! I back up all my games now onto multiple micro memory stick's just in case. Its worth it and I 've dropped three times with the screen open and no issues as of yet. Great review :D

ive had my psp 2000 for 8 years now. its still running is very scratched,has dust under the screen and the battery last a total of 15.5 minutes but i still love it

A all digital psp is amazing, it's smaller, no umd's, you dun have to leave your home to get games unless you dun use a credit card and just use psn network cards, and the people who say that it does not have all the psp games on the store, well the games that they left out are very poor or they are just forgotten psp games, so go out and get it, or a ipod touch 4g..
What they should do for a PSP in the future, is to put games on M2 cards that you could then install to the system memory. To prevent copyright infringement, they could put something on the card that would allow you to reinstall up to five times or so.
Slovensko82 is right. I've had my Go for about a week and a half, and I can safely say it is MUCH better than previous PSPs. I had a 1000 for about 2 years until I got a go. Man, am I glad I did! It's a TON more portable, the downloads are faster, the screen is aMAZING, the graphics look smoother, and the sliding screen is genius. If you're choosing between a 3000 and a Go, get the Go.
also if youre having issues with download time or have a slow internet connection its simple. download the PSP games onto your ps3 then copy to transfer them onto the PSP GO. Google it for further instructions. The PSP GO is well worth the money. try eBay for cheap deals.

Ok here is the truth about the PSP GO from an actual person that really owns one. Its the best PSP out there to date. all the lies spread about it being hard to play if you have big hands just cracks me up. Im 6'4 and a giant of a man. My hands are huge ring finger size 14, and I have had no issues with using the PSP Go. The graphics are way smoother than the 3000 PSP GO loads games faster. and Looks better during game play.
I am disapointed in this so called review. It seems everything you said was speculation on your part. You never dropped it but "speculate" it would brake. You never lost any game data but "speculate" you might if you have issues. It's been over a year now so whats the verdict after ussing it this long?
@lestatella It depends. If you have umd discs from your old psp and you like them, you won't be able to play them with the go. If you have never owned one, then get it because you can download games and it's more organized. There is not as many games on psn as in stores and stuff. It's up to you. I traded my psp 3000 for the go with my friend. I think it is freakin awesome!

@coolguy5700 I got the PSPgo yesterday, and let me tell you, it kicks ASS. It's aMAZING. I guess it depends on what you prefer: PSP 3000 uses UMDs, which have the risk of breaking, getting lost, etc. AND can download, but is HUGE in your pockets. The PSPgo uses downloads ONLY, therefor losing the UMD drive and making games overall more expensive, and not all the existing UMDs are on PlayStation®Store. Also, the PSPgo is SO much more comfortable in your pocket. You decide.
since its going to be 7 years since the psp came out the psp go should be at least 100 dollars or less cause psp are not worth the money at least for the games there not.....the only use i find for the psp at all is the psone classics
I still like the 3000 better. Even with the price drop. The ONLY better thing it has is blutooth. And basically you are making a trade off by getting rid of the UMD drive and going to a smaller screen. Besides blutooth the 3000 can do everything the go can + play UMD games. What a waste of $ Lol.
@lamiac2411 Actually, for people who travel a lot/like playing games anywhere without carrying UMDs around, the Go is MUCH better. However, for those who play their PSPs 75% of the time in their house, the 3000 is better. I got a PSPGo yesterday it is AWESOME. sorry but i don't think jon4lakers is really a "technobuffalo" if he is not aware that with everything downloaded off ps store is saved in your download history & can be redownloaded up to 5 times onto other psp systems before you'll need to re-purchase & have to pay again i got my psp go xmas last year & love it & think downloading games & movies is great & not having to lug UMD discs around with me is an absolute joy.
@the4noobz psp go is much better, every psp go game beats 3ds games, god of war ghost of sparta metal gear solid peace walker little big planet, modnation racers, gran turismo, gta vice city stories, assassins creed bloodlines, dbz tenkaichi tag team, need for speed underground rivals(dunno if it's on psn store), midnight club, Nintendo is copying psp and ipod touch 4g with the 3ds, so psp go is what you should get

I have the 1001 I love it it still works but the umds keep break in my disk drive I know I am getting the psp go because I saw it under my moms bed. I hope that the go can find my wifi N un like my psp 1000 which sucked because my favorite game is socom online for the psp also it looks nice and doesn't make louds noise when I try playing it at night so now I play mw2 on the xbox 360 on live but when I do get it for Xmas that is going to be great!!! @yodddaninja To delete demos/games on any PSP system, go to [GAME] - System Storage then go to the demo/game you want to delete, press ∆, and select "Delete" with X. Hope this helped!
does it have the slider ribbon like slider mobile phones, if it does, then won't the ribbon someday eventually brake. I had a slider mobile once, and the ribbon wore off.. so yeah.. just wondering if it has the same mechanism..
@coolguy5700 I perfer the psp 3000 instead of the psp go. You can use a ps3 controller with psp go if you want to but you need a ps3 to do that. Psp go you have to download the games and if you don't have good Internet it will be hard to get games. Psp 3000 you can download games and use the regular disks. When psp2 comes out I'm buying it. Sony gave some to developers like the developers for mortal combat and some said it could handle about 50% of ps3s power. If that's true it would be as strong as an xbox 360 and it could handle the early ps3 games. Let's all hope that the price isn't extreamly huge like when the ps3 came out
@TheLegendaryCynthia Im not lying and psp go isn't the psp2. I was reading a game informer magazine and sony gave a description to them and they wrote it in the magazine. And some developers actualy have one and they are looking at the hardware and some people have said it's stronger than the 360. But even if it is that strong just imagine how much you will have to charge it.

I hate the psp go. Bought it new from amazon on the release date and the thing had a dead pixel line going straight through the top of the screen! And I couldn't even return it :(

@The6031968 neither. if you could wait so long for a psp wait for another 10 months cause the new psp2 is coming out. its not a remake of the current psp like the ones previously released. its an actual upgrade with a touch screen and supposedly the game graphics will be comparable to that of a ps3

if you download them to your pc and "move" them over to the PSP, and then you lose your PSP - let's say you buy a new one, would you then be able to "move" it over again, without buying it again?

It's exacly the same as the PSP 3000, only that it has no UMD, a Clock and Callender when you slide it down, 16 GB which is acturly about 14 GB I think due to the ... and it uses M2 memory card and has Bluetooth. Also it has that feature where you can pause the game and go to home screen and then resume. The anolog stick has more resistance some people find it better some people find it worse. The screen is smaller but is very nice just like the 3000 but looks slightly crisper due size. that it.

Dumbass.... Plug it into your pc and make many backups of ur games duh!? I Honestly love this system! I back up all my games now onto multiple micro memory stick's just in case. Its worth it and I 've dropped three times with the screen open and no issues as of yet. Great review :D

A all digital psp is amazing, it's smaller, no umd's, you dun have to leave your home to get games unless you dun use a credit card and just use psn network cards, and the people who say that it does not have all the psp games on the store, well the games that they left out are very poor or they are just forgotten psp games, so go out and get it, or a ipod touch 4g..

What they should do for a PSP in the future, is to put games on M2 cards that you could then install to the system memory. To prevent copyright infringement, they could put something on the card that would allow you to reinstall up to five times or so.

Slovensko82 is right. I've had my Go for about a week and a half, and I can safely say it is MUCH better than previous PSPs. I had a 1000 for about 2 years until I got a go. Man, am I glad I did! It's a TON more portable, the downloads are faster, the screen is aMAZING, the graphics look smoother, and the sliding screen is genius. If you're choosing between a 3000 and a Go, get the Go.

also if youre having issues with download time or have a slow internet connection its simple. download the PSP games onto your ps3 then copy to transfer them onto the PSP GO. Google it for further instructions. The PSP GO is well worth the money. try eBay for cheap deals.

Ok here is the truth about the PSP GO from an actual person that really owns one. Its the best PSP out there to date. all the lies spread about it being hard to play if you have big hands just cracks me up. Im 6'4 and a giant of a man. My hands are huge ring finger size 14, and I have had no issues with using the PSP Go. The graphics are way smoother than the 3000 PSP GO loads games faster. and Looks better during game play.

I am disapointed in this so called review. It seems everything you said was speculation on your part. You never dropped it but "speculate" it would brake. You never lost any game data but "speculate" you might if you have issues. It's been over a year now so whats the verdict after ussing it this long?

@lestatella It depends. If you have umd discs from your old psp and you like them, you won't be able to play them with the go. If you have never owned one, then get it because you can download games and it's more organized. There is not as many games on psn as in stores and stuff. It's up to you. I traded my psp 3000 for the go with my friend. I think it is freakin awesome!

@coolguy5700 I got the PSPgo yesterday, and let me tell you, it kicks ASS. It's aMAZING. I guess it depends on what you prefer: PSP 3000 uses UMDs, which have the risk of breaking, getting lost, etc. AND can download, but is HUGE in your pockets. The PSPgo uses downloads ONLY, therefor losing the UMD drive and making games overall more expensive, and not all the existing UMDs are on PlayStation®Store. Also, the PSPgo is SO much more comfortable in your pocket. You decide.

I still like the 3000 better. Even with the price drop. The ONLY better thing it has is blutooth. And basically you are making a trade off by getting rid of the UMD drive and going to a smaller screen. Besides blutooth the 3000 can do everything the go can + play UMD games. What a waste of $ Lol.

@lamiac2411 Actually, for people who travel a lot/like playing games anywhere without carrying UMDs around, the Go is MUCH better. However, for those who play their PSPs 75% of the time in their house, the 3000 is better. I got a PSPGo yesterday it is AWESOME. I actually considered the 3000 until I researched it and discovered there were too many people complaining about screen problems than I was comfortable with. :P For me, PSPGo > PSP 3000.

sorry but i don't think jon4lakers is really a "technobuffalo" if he is not aware that with everything downloaded off ps store is saved in your download history & can be redownloaded up to 5 times onto other psp systems before you'll need to re-purchase & have to pay again i got my psp go xmas last year & love it & think downloading games & movies is great & not having to lug UMD discs around with me is an absolute joy.

@the4noobz psp go is much better, every psp go game beats 3ds games, god of war ghost of sparta metal gear solid peace walker little big planet, modnation racers, gran turismo, gta vice city stories, assassins creed bloodlines, dbz tenkaichi tag team, need for speed underground rivals(dunno if it's on psn store), midnight club, Nintendo is copying psp and ipod touch 4g with the 3ds, so psp go is what you should get

I have the 1001 I love it it still works but the umds keep break in my disk drive I know I am getting the psp go because I saw it under my moms bed. I hope that the go can find my wifi N un like my psp 1000 which sucked because my favorite game is socom online for the psp also it looks nice and doesn't make louds noise when I try playing it at night so now I play mw2 on the xbox 360 on live but when I do get it for Xmas that is going to be great!!! Can't wait!!!

@yodddaninja To delete demos/games on any PSP system, go to [GAME] - System Storage then go to the demo/game you want to delete, press ∆, and select "Delete" with X. Hope this helped!

@coolguy5700 I perfer the psp 3000 instead of the psp go. You can use a ps3 controller with psp go if you want to but you need a ps3 to do that. Psp go you have to download the games and if you don't have good Internet it will be hard to get games. Psp 3000 you can download games and use the regular disks. If you want to know anything else just ask

When psp2 comes out I'm buying it. Sony gave some to developers like the developers for mortal combat and some said it could handle about 50% of ps3s power. If that's true it would be as strong as an xbox 360 and it could handle the early ps3 games. Let's all hope that the price isn't extreamly huge like when the ps3 came out

@TheLegendaryCynthia Im not lying and psp go isn't the psp2. I was reading a game informer magazine and sony gave a description to them and they wrote it in the magazine. And some developers actualy have one and they are looking at the hardware and some people have said it's stronger than the 360. But even if it is that strong just imagine how much you will have to charge it.
