You can change the path iTunes uses for its library. Go to Edit -> Preferences, click the Advanced tab, and then lick the Change button for the iTunes Music Folder location. Set the appropriate path, and then OK out of everything.
I set up itunes to go to my external hard drive to free up my iMacs HD space. My iMacs hard drive is still full? Now I can open itunes by clicking the original icon in the dock or by opening my external storage icon & clicking icon for itunes in there. When I do the latter then a second itunes icon opens on my dock? Should I attempt to delete the entire itunes program from my imacs hard drive since there is the itunes in the external storage? I hope you can assist me with this. Thx
Yea I did that & everything from now is going to my external but the HD on the Mac itself is still full. I think there is still a copy of my itunes & library on it. Should I just delete it since my external HD has it on there?
What to use on Mac OS X?

About iTunes - change the preference pane Advanced: _uncheck_
Keep iTunes folder organized
Copy files to music folder when adding....
If they are checked iTunes will copy and rename files as it wants.

very funny vid.chris i'm looking for a new computer what do you think it the best for home and work and yes i want a mac

I'm hardcore, on either Windows or Mac I use the command-prompt/terminal.
Maybe CoreFTP Lite on Windows to have a bit more convenience and still be light-weight.
But as my UltraEdit has this amazing FTP-functionality in it and I only use it to upload to webhosting, well, I only upload text and some pictures.

theres an option in the itunes prefrences that will let you import music into your itunes library without copying it to the itunes folder
