I'm going to say what anybody who takes 2 minutes to look up some acceleration tests on these cars should already know. I love the Altima SE-R, I love Nissans in general. I've had a 300zx, a Sentra Spec V, and 2 350z's. My current car is an 07 350z. I had an 04 SRT-4 right in between my Spec V and my 05 350z. With just a short RAM intake, my SRT-4 ran a 13.72@104.6mph. It was clearly faster than my 05 350z with the DE engine, which is faster than an Altima SE-R. Driver kills the SRT here

true lol i had put the mounts new ecu tranny both axles had to go for the awd most of the stuff like the exhaust and driveshaft were custom due to the size differance between the cars to and i did have the whole engin bay extended about 3.5 inches, now you are right about the Z and G but something made me want to do this swap a got the car befor nismo and kept it, i also have an s15 im wanting to put a RB in it just no time, if this is hard to beleive (and ik it is) my friend put a 2jz in his xb

260 hps V6 vs 230 hps 4 cyl TURBO. I really don't think the altima would win, in fact, the SRT-4 would easily eat it. On dyno the SRT-4 stock has proven to give like 235 hp at the wheels.. while the SE-R gives aprox 205 hps at the wheels. Less weight, more power, SRT-4 OWNS SE-R

srt-4s are faster than se-rs. the srt-4s are up with the ls-1 transams/z28s and 350zs, which isnt much faster than the altima se-r (add nismo struts to eliminate the spinnage in first and second gears and watch them run 14 flat)
i take 15-second cars all day in my se-r. i tied an lt-1 trans am up to 90 and he stopped racing. check 1/4 times.

Um you're actually comparing an Altima to a Camaro Z28 or a Pontiac Trans Am? You must have been dropped as a kid or something, cause those cars are not even comparable. The Z28's and Trans Am's run 13's stock. Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
The SRT4 driver can't drive... or the altima is pretty seriously modded. An SRT4 will win that race stock for stock with equal drivers every time.. not even that close.
Then either your buddy can't drive, there's something wrong with his car, or your car is seriously modded. This isn't a knock on the SE-R, they're very nice cars. However, they put about 210hp to the wheels, while the SRT-4's are known to put 220-230 to the wheels stock (260-270 at the crank). Factor that together with the weight difference. After I got rid of my 04 SRT-4 I got an 05 350z, and the SRT was definitely faster. Equal to my current 07 350z w/HR engine.
Those mods should be worth 2 to 3 tenths in 0-60 and 1/4 mile. I bet it sounds good :-) Since a Stage 2 SRT-4 is capable of running a 13.2- 13.3 1/4 mile with a decent driver, I still have to think that something is wrong with either your friend's driving, or his car. What you have is a much nicer car that will probably hold together much better with high mileage, but even a stock 04-05 SRT-4 should pull on you slightly, let alone a Stage 2.
I can't say for sure, since I had to get rid of my SRT-4 to get my Z.. but I think so. My butt meter tells me that my SRT-4 and my HR 350z are dead even from a 50 or 60 roll, at least up to about 130. The power to weight ratio of the SRT-4 is good enough that it pulls really hard once you get rolling. Such a flat torque curve too, which gives it a slight edge when changing gears. SRT-4's are deadly from a roll with a decent driver. They struggle out of the hole more.

Well I don't know if the SRT-4 made the list for best engine or not. But I would be embarassed if my car made the list of having one of the greatest engines ever made but still was a slow car. Altimas are not fast buddy. Your 1/4 mile is almost 15 seconds. There are N/A 4 cylinder engines with that time and you have a 6 cylinder engine. My '06 M3 came with a N/A 6 cylinder engine and I used to put out OVER 300 hp STOCK. That's a REAL 6 cylinder engine.

I have a friend that has a modded SE-R and its nice, but stock for stock and you can do your research on C&D or where ever. the SRT-4 runs low 14's and the Altima SE-R runs high 14's like you said. However, the if the SRT-4 owner knew how to drive it should have won, but still a good race nonetheless!

I also found street racing dumb when I beat a Porsche Carrera because the guy slipped so much at the launch. I was more pissed than happy to beat a car over 150 hp than me. lol At least on the track, you can race against people who are really good drivers.

I surprised myself when I won and now I'm good friends with the driver. lol

true lol i had put the mounts new ecu tranny both axles had to go for the awd most of the stuff like the exhaust and driveshaft were custom due to the size differance between the cars to and i did have the whole engin bay extended about 3.5 inches, now you are right about the Z and G but something made me want to do this swap a got the car befor nismo and kept it, i also have an s15 im wanting to put a RB in it just no time, if this is hard to beleive (and ik it is) my friend put a 2jz in his xb

sounds about right but how are u dealing with handling due to the weight difference?...and wtf dude you shouldve done it on a 370z!...my buddy has a VQ turboed sentra...did it for 6k only ..fast as balls but the weight difference fuked it up. I plan to put a 3 rotor 20B in the 7 but its at least a 10k project to run safe. I dont really care much for srt4s, theyr pretty quick and cheap for I4 turbo but something about it being a neon lol.

yea but when i started there the 04 ser was and still is my car lol i just love my sentras but yea if i dont fix the s15 im selling it and buying a nismo 370, i hate srt-4s lol, i personaly think chevy dodge and ford did the wrong thing by putting the SS SRT and SVT name on their base cars. but nissan kinda did the same putting the spec v name on the sentras, my suspension set up cost about as much as the whole swap shits real stiff but safe, do you have a newer model rx-7?

260 hps V6 vs 230 hps 4 cyl TURBO. I really don't think the altima would win, in fact, the SRT-4 would easily eat it. On dyno the SRT-4 stock has proven to give like 235 hp at the wheels.. while the SE-R gives aprox 205 hps at the wheels. Less weight, more power, SRT-4 OWNS SE-R

srt-4s are faster than se-rs. the srt-4s are up with the ls-1 transams/z28s and 350zs, which isnt much faster than the altima se-r (add nismo struts to eliminate the spinnage in first and second gears and watch them run 14 flat)
i take 15-second cars all day in my se-r. i tied an lt-1 trans am up to 90 and he stopped racing. check 1/4 times.
dont get mad because some yuppie bought an srt-4...ive seen the same happen with se-rs. someone is going to be the worse driver in any case.

Then either your buddy can't drive, there's something wrong with his car, or your car is seriously modded. This isn't a knock on the SE-R, they're very nice cars. However, they put about 210hp to the wheels, while the SRT-4's are known to put 220-230 to the wheels stock (260-270 at the crank). Factor that together with the weight difference. After I got rid of my 04 SRT-4 I got an 05 350z, and the SRT was definitely faster. Equal to my current 07 350z w/HR engine.

Those mods should be worth 2 to 3 tenths in 0-60 and 1/4 mile. I bet it sounds good :-) Since a Stage 2 SRT-4 is capable of running a 13.2- 13.3 1/4 mile with a decent driver, I still have to think that something is wrong with either your friend's driving, or his car. What you have is a much nicer car that will probably hold together much better with high mileage, but even a stock 04-05 SRT-4 should pull on you slightly, let alone a Stage 2.

I can't say for sure, since I had to get rid of my SRT-4 to get my Z.. but I think so. My butt meter tells me that my SRT-4 and my HR 350z are dead even from a 50 or 60 roll, at least up to about 130. The power to weight ratio of the SRT-4 is good enough that it pulls really hard once you get rolling. Such a flat torque curve too, which gives it a slight edge when changing gears. SRT-4's are deadly from a roll with a decent driver. They struggle out of the hole more.

Well I don't know if the SRT-4 made the list for best engine or not. But I would be embarassed if my car made the list of having one of the greatest engines ever made but still was a slow car. Altimas are not fast buddy. Your 1/4 mile is almost 15 seconds. There are N/A 4 cylinder engines with that time and you have a 6 cylinder engine. My '06 M3 came with a N/A 6 cylinder engine and I used to put out OVER 300 hp STOCK. That's a REAL 6 cylinder engine.

I have a friend that has a modded SE-R and its nice, but stock for stock and you can do your research on C&D or where ever. the SRT-4 runs low 14's and the Altima SE-R runs high 14's like you said. However, the if the SRT-4 owner knew how to drive it should have won, but still a good race nonetheless!

and lets see i can go all the way down the line. srt's look like riced out neons. cheap interior. no rear power windows. a ugly ass wing they are cheap all the around thas why so many KIDS HAVE THEM just like civics.

how is the altima lacking. it has more tq and hp than a srt. the srt is lighter that the only one up it has.u gotta be a 16yr old kid. watch the video the srt got beat by a "family car" with a comfortable ass interior. sat. radio, heated seats, power windows all the way around. 6speed tranny, leather seats, 6disc cd changer. hid's. heated mirrors, 18in rims wit low pro tires. TCS, should i go on.

please explain how a altima is garbage??? i would love to hear this. there is nothing on a srt-4 that is worth anything. every part of the se-r is worth more and a better quality than the srt put together. DONT EVEN SAY THE MOTOR because the VQ was rated one of the best motors ever built. so please explain yourself

No SRT4 driver can beat you? It's funny how a ricer beats ONE SRT-4 then they think they can take on everyone. There will ALWAYS be a faster car. But if you want to believe your family car is the greatest machine ever made then more power to you.

Don't even bother, people post up ANYTHING on youtube. Civics beating Lambos, Corollas beating Mustangs, Eclipses beating Ferraris, etc. If he wants to think his Altima is faster than an SRT-4 then let him believe that. It's a proven FACT that an SRT-4 is the fastest FWD car ever built and a SRT-4 can get up to 60 mph a WHOLE SECOND faster than a Altima. No need to argue, Car and Driver dot com proves it all.

Yeah those Altimas are heavy family cars with only 260 horses. I thought that it was kinda wierd that it would beat a car that was made for racing. The SRT-4 driver was probably 12 years old.

and stop benchracing. haha they also said srt's are running 13.9 stock. i went to E-Town and out of the 10 stock srt's that were there only one of them ran close to 13.9 NOONE RAN anything 13 stock. i ran a 14.18 wit a decent launch. i guess your religious if you believe everything a book tells you. C&D hahaha sorry to break the news but you dont have to be a GOD at driving to become a writer and test cars.

It's good that you quit and that's a very good reason to. The first time I lost was when I went to my first Autocross. It actually didn't feel that bad to lose though since I lost to a professional. lol
I also found street racing dumb when I beat a Porsche Carrera because the guy slipped so much at the launch. I was more pissed than happy to beat a car over 150 hp than me. lol At least on the track, you can race against people who are really good drivers.

1) A good driver in SRT-4 can beat an EVO every time.
2) A bad driver in a SRT-4 can lose to a typical family car. In this case, an Altima.
There's such a broad range of winning and losing when it comes to driver skill and the SRT-4. lol

i never lost to a srt-4 with comparable mods or stock.
so yes there is a broad range of winning and losing with a srt-4 but wen it gets to me it's a broad losing range hahahhah.

I decided to race only on track when I realized how good I was getting. It happened when I raced someone who had a Stage 2 + bolt-on Falken Azenis rt615 SRT-4 by beating him 4 times consecutively in my stock all-season tire SRT-4. I surprised myself when I won and now I'm good friends with the driver. lol

1). you dont even kno the mods i had on that car.
2)you would've prolly lost too. if you can actually say he cant launch and shifts way to late like he was driving your car.
3)you dont even know his mods. and not all cars are created equal.
