  • Good job, you completely missed the point of SE's message. Maybe you can check the liner notes on the album for his message to Lou Dobbs.

  • This arguments you are making above has been made about every new generation of immigrants, and was especially common in the late 1800's and early 1900's, when my mother's family came from Norway. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now.

  • all of us are immigrants. Every daughter, every son.

You don't give a shit about the song, you just want a soapbox for your racist views.

  • This is a beautiful song. The harmonies are amazing and the Steve Earle has hit the nail on the head.

  • Your comment is mean, stupid and just plain wrong.

  • Atlantaminuteman - you ARE an immigrant! Duh! Don't tell me to read a dictionary to know what an immigrant is. Unless you are an indigenous american indian you are, by definition, an immigrant. And are you saying that a citzen of the USA can't be an immigrant? Er...... Henry Kissinger?

  • Steve is actually a Virginian, Born in Hampton at the V.A. Hospital. He parents did place Texas soil down for the first time he touched the ground.

  • Cmt records is holding back on any comment on the border or Nafta and ,NWO,CAFTA, North American Union in the name of money . While the people that most represented and support the company go jobless!Thats fact not political motivated but fact. The elite have sold the US out. Thats why they have been moving out at a 15% rate.

  • i in no way put up this video to get a bunch of political comments back steve lives in new york not brazil .....pls i respect everyones views and rights to voice them i just was sharing cool song from cool artist for fans out there...not to get intto politics,,thnks

  • His is now a legal resident in Brazil. Thats how he came up with the album.

  • @MusicFann213 That was so polite! lol. Agreed! I love this song, thanks for posting!!!

  • NORTH AMERICAN UNION open borders. This is not what our Constitution provides. Steve Earl live in BRAZIL now. Unless you are very rich you will not be living in Brazille. The rich are leaving this country. Why do you think they are getting out? Many have put money in outside banks. Stop the NAU. Stop SPP dot org !

  • I am not an IMMIGRANT ! I am a UNITED STATES OF AMERICA citizen. I heard this on the radio this evening on DAVE FM ATLANTA. This is a propaganda song for CMT and his label. Its all about the money. Nashville has laid low on the illegal migration into the USA. We are not all immigrants. Read a dictionary ! We can not go changing around truth to suit us. This is a globalist plan where only the rich get richer! Socialism is in controle.

  • Is this fucking guy for real?

  • whats he playing by the way?

  • italian guitar, a cremora.

  • I think the word is cremona. Because of the 8 strings, I thought it was a type of mandolin.

I love his new CD. He's so talented.

  • It is a mandola.

  • i like this song, i dont think its his best album though, and is it me or has he all of a sudden got old

  • he's quite the chameleon...and one damn talented songwriter...

a definite link in the dylan chain...

  • You're right, though I think he'd prefer to be considered a link in the Van Zandt chain. He was once quoted as saying something like, "Townes Van Zandt is the best American songwriter that ever lived, and I'd stand up in the middle of Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and say so." In response to this, Van Zandt said, "I've met Dylan, been a big fan of his music, and I can tell you in all sincerity that his bodyguards would never let you anywhere near his coffee table."

  • Is it me or does this song have an early Neil Diamond feel?

  • hey 14texas, i count myself as a Republican (no tomatoes thrown at me please) but you can tell folks Pres. Bush is not a NATIVE texan and that makes a difference, i was born and raised in Texas, have lived in MN now for 20 yrs. i don't share a lot of Steve's politics, but i have loved his music for 20 years, he is a great song writer and a great inspiration to me as a recovering addict myself...

God bless Steve Earle, politics and all...

  • Steve, I love this F U Lou Dobbs song. Whenever people give me grief for Texas giving the world our current president, at least I can always site Steve Earle as being a Texan I am truly proud of! Even if you no longer live here. And of course it's always great when you come back around!!
