It doesn't look like staking was the problem. A tent that long is going to take a lot of stress holding it the lengthwise, but there isn't a lot of strapping holding it in that direction. Looks like the tent failed. Maybe a cheap tent. It's definitely too long

Car owners are allowed a reasonable expectation of safety. If someone's property blows on to your car, damaging it, they're liable. No different than if a circus tent fell on your child.

As An Auctioneer, I feel for Russo and Steele. But remember, once sold, it is your property. Also most consignment contracts want the owners to carry and show proof of insurance, just in case something like this happens. i am not sure about Arizona law. But once you take posetion of the vehicle and control it. just like going to a repair shop. They are liable and so is the tent company.
