i watch DTWS nearly every season and as much as I loved Lance and like Lacey, the beginning is COMPLETELY wasted with just jumping and it was a let down. Brooks was a full dance with lots of lifts and they should have been incorporated at least one tricky/ showy move!!

This surprised me because Lacey has done hip-hop dancing before and KILLED it but this is just far below her skill level.

A possibility is that she dumbed it down for Lance but if he could learn samba and ballroom hip hop should've been a breeze. Why it's so bad I don't know.

They're both talented but maybe they should stay away from hip-hop.

It's actually NOT a hip-hop piece because of the style in the piece. What I was saying was that the piece didn't exhibit the pieces needed to be a decent hip-hop piece, and because they danced to an old school hip-hop song the piece doesn't automatically receive the accreditation. There was almost no foundation in the piece. Granted studio hip-hop is slightly more jazzy but it possessed none of swagger you want in a piece like that and very little outside of a bunch of bouncing around.
