The PC versions were always the "arcade perfect" ones but I don't know about the sound...most "sound" problems with MK ports back in the day were also more about bad porting than actually the consoles being less powerful...one example is MK2 on the Playstation and the Saturn which are CD based, but for some reason they didn't use mp3 music and the music sounded worse than NES games, specially worse than the SNES versions which had pretty good music...even the Sega CD version of MK1 had mp3 music
What happen to the sound anyway? I tried using DOSBox but it's more complicated than using actual DOS (which is really not that complicated)...that's why I have the original version on MAME!!
It's what pc gaming copy protection used to be like. Before you could play an installed game, you had to enter information that only the original owner would have access to, like the instruction manual.
What are the controls. I press everything and the only buttons that worked are up,down, left, right and F10.

anyone got the controls for the pc version
i got my ass kicked by Sonya too many times
and im tired of it. i DOwnloaded it from some freeware site.

@bogen404 : You have to press F10 at the main menu/intro to enter the options. In options, you must configure controls.
If you press F1 (Player 1 start) or F2 (Player 2 start) without configuring controls, then you are in trouble!

If you've got the manual you know... back in the day I had a bunch of them memorized (since it only asks you certain ones). There's a crack now...

used ones

They don't have to be used ones, lot of PC games today come without manuals because they have it in a "digital" form instead of physical...

I think you can download the manual from abandonia. com
You can also download MK1 with a crack from abandonline. com so you won't need the manual at all
