  • Wow, some really harsh remarks from viewers of this video. Yes a real piano sound great in comparison but try sticking one under your arm and taking it to your local pub for a gig.

This was a very adequate demo and refering to wrist and finger actions as one reviewer stated... I can only imaging the kind of exercise they give their wrist and fingers. credit where its due. Nice demonstration

  • Bravissima Mina!

  • The keyboard is the cheesiest thing I've heard in a while, but I'm more squeemish about her technique. What's with her wrist and finger positions? She looks like a first-year piano student!

  • ottima dimostrazione, mi ha convinto a comprare una Yamaha Tyros 4 , grazie

  • What did music play at the beginning?

  • And yes I agree you cannot play pianissimo and fortissimo on a synth very well.

  • 4:48 See this thrill. It looses all the three middle hits, they don't sound. That's a sign of a rubbish touch system. At least what you could expect was weighted keys. This is probably still the cheap electronic touch tape system.

  • @mrteemumilto I don't agree. Weighted keys are an unnecessary addition to an electronic instrument, and their only finction is to help you play if you are only able to play with the resitance of a real instrument. Once you learn to play unweighted keys you can play faster. The only disadvantage of unweighted keys is you have to be much more accurate. You might as well say that it would be better with a huge wooden box behind it like a real piano.

  • @aaronfromhastings Not more accurate, you can move faster, but you lack key sensitivity and simply can't play piano music. It is not a matter of your taste now.

  • @mrteemumilto Yes, 19th century music may be easier, but not baroque: a clavichord is actually a very light action. And I had to play the blues on a Beckstein last year (the heaviest action you can get) and my fingernails were all broken and there was blood all over the client's piano at the end of the night!

IMHO Yamaha Clavinovas (the alternative) have a horrible clunky action that is nothing like say a Steinway or even a real Yamaha baby Grand, both of which are a joy to play any music on.

  • @aaronfromhastings But those are stage pianos, not synthetisizers like Tyros. Come on, if you are a pro, you know that commercial synths are not for playing the piano. I used to play piano and I keep to my knowledge of this.

  • @mrteemumilto You can't beat a Steinway. But I'd rather play unweighted than play an artificial action. And I suppose I am a pro. But evberyone's different. It is also a case of what you are used to. Far better pianists than me cannot play my DGX because they touch notes they don't mean to. I have learned to be very light and accurate! These things are not fixed, although I realise the classical world is very conservative.

  • @aaronfromhastings Yeah, I get you. Be light and accurate. But you still can't make many nyances sound. You just have play without nyances. POP or techno only. Or simplify your jazz and blues. It is missing from synths, because those customers can't play so well, as to know about real piano skills. And I want to criticize this and say, they should make weighted keys to synths. Pianos supercede all other keyboards. It is a disgrace that when I was still playing 15 years ago, it was still the same

  • @mrteemumilto I don't think synths can ever be pianos, and the idea that they can is born from the arrogance of the technological revolution.

I have never played a "weighted key" that felt anything like a real piano. Nor is it possible to make the sound come from infinite physical parts of the instrument as with a real piano.

And just imagine if they made the perfect electronic piano. No more Steinways and Yamahas would be made, and that would be a sad day for you and me who love real pianos!

  • @aaronfromhastings 'weighted key' is a piano key. That's the definition. Digital stage pianos all have weighted keys. They are missing from most digital pianos and all synths/workstations.

  • And the point about getting used to it is irrelevant, because once you know how to play real music, you learn both, and go back the the real piano once you want to do something more musical.

  • @mrteemumilto There's nothing less musical about playing a synth! It is a different instrument. If you just want to use youtube to sound off your prejudices then fine.

But at the end of the day, I have been playing the piano for thirty years, and I believe there is no "weighted" key that accurately mimics a real piano. A real piano has UNWEIGHTED keys that lift a long damper while striking long hammers which bounce of 30 inch strings. Show me a stage piano with all that going on in the back

  • @mrteemumilto And what about the sustain pedal? Not even the best stage piano in the world does a proper job of emulating a real piano's pedal action, which is a physical effect that affects the entire piano, not merely a switch for prolonging a note. And you talk about "real"! Ha!

  • @aaronfromhastings It does not exclude the keys and it is a separate issue. Peace.

  • @mrteemumilto peace to you too. However you cannot play a piano without the sustain pedal, so it is not separate! The pedal on an electronic piano only sustains the note you are playing, whereas on a real piano it opens all the strings.

  • Fortunately, pop music is so simple now that you CAN do a convincing imitation of a whole band using just two fingers. :?D

  • Hello does any one have the sheet music for the first peice played?

  • Indonesia is one of the largest consumer for the product YAMAHA Keyboard, but why Yamaha did not enter the Indonesian music style into presets style program "" DANGDUT ""is a very popular music style in Indonesia, we hope YAMAHA put it into one of styles preset program ... thank YOU

  • Hey nice 1 I love the celtic sound to the right hand instrument on intro of the intro tune. You know your stuff. I'd love a T3. How much is it now the T4 is out? I bet T4 is at least 3 grand. Cheers from Rich

  • @bestrickie2 TYROS 4 costs 3699€ in Germany. And the Voice you mean is called "Irish pipe Air", even in 3:30 it sounds so realistic!!!

T4 is again a very very good one, if you think of getting one, you won´t regret it!!!!

  • I Love this keyboard ... the articulations are great and she really can play!!

  • that intro gave me chills.

  • Nice keyboard, but honey, I can't understand a flippin' word you're saying.

  • nice design....crappy sounds ¬¬¬

  • @zilvergrafix Sounds pretty good to me. What would you recommend in its place?

  • @larrybud the thing with tyros is the sounds, look, even cheaper or low-entry level Yamaha Keyboards have the same sounds that this Tyros, that's my concern.

I had a DGX-205 Yamaha and have THE SAME sounds than this, the same quality, for this price I could expect a better sampling voices.

I'll go for Roland, but it's my opinion, try viewing another videos of low level Yamaha Keyboards and you'll got the answer, cheers.

  • @zilvergrafix hey.. i have the kyboard same lyk u.. quiet diffrence in voices i know :)

  • @zilvergrafix Hahaha your DGX-205 have the same sounds as the Tyros 3 ?? May be your ears can not detect the difference of any keyboard worth more than 200 bucks ? May be you are born to play Casio CTK200 ? you are so lucky that you don't have to spend money to enjoy music ,,, your ears are so handicapped ...You must be one of those tone deaf fool on american idol that gets kicked out on first round LOL

  • @datmpham the only thing I know is that you are one of the million of average idiot youtube users who likes insult to others with nonsense comments due to relay in anonymate.

now if I do your "style", look:

btw, since 2007 and no channel videos?, wtf!!?, 3 years and nothing can be done in your BRAIN?, woo hoo hoo! XD,crappy dude, get a life, moron...I can bet you does not even play a fuckin' keyboard and still living with MOM.losah

  • @fantasiajm yes you can, you can even download new styles from yamaha's tyros music store, and even from some other company, who show's examples on this same keyboard. they may as well be compatible with the tyros 4 too.

  • Yamaha, she is nice to look at, but her English pronunciation is extremely difficult to understand. Tyros sounds like "Terras" which is waaay off.

  • Troppo bella !

  • :( over 3000 euro

    ...

  • @CYNCY24 The PSR S900 doesn´t have sliders and no Super Articulation!2 Voices, and you can play with only 2 instead of 3 Voices for the Right Hand! But it has many features from the Tyros 3, like score-displaying, Vocal Harmonizer, Super Articulation!1 Voices. My tip: Get a PSR S910, it has more Styles coming from the Tyros3, like the Style Schlager Fox for example. AND: The S910 is a small Tyros 3!

  • Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky-Swan Lake

  • YAMAHA its my sound!!!

  • YAMAHA its my sound!!!

  • I still have my Yamaha PSR-420 and thought it's time to save up for a new keyboard, but they've all changed a lot now so I'm finding it difficult to know what features I want/need.

  • @jasonkneil I might be able to help you. Just tell me your budget and the features you feel you MUST have. Also for what it will be used.

  • @MrJackanthony I'm not really sure about budget, obviiously not too expensive but it depends how much my current keyboard can sell for, I can also save up for a new one. I'm taking piano lessons so i think a 72 key would be necessary as 86 key wouldn't fit in my room, weighted, semi-weighted or graded keys are also a must. I've looked on Yamaha's site and found a few good keyboards from the piaggero series I think are called the NPV80 & NPV60 and also the DGX 530 look good too. Thanks
