@ambroom@calderonlarrea Incredible? New Miles Davis? Ridiculous.... His singing is mediocre, the call and response from Minnie didn't really work in this tune. His trumpet playing is average, the only bit worthy of note being perhaps the half valve lip dexterity at 6:25. That circular breathing "solo" was just boring, and it's not like it's a difficult technique. I can do it just as well on a trombone, which is more difficult due to the larger bore and extra air required.

In fact, the only interesting thing about this performance was that awesome horn, a Monette Prana Ajna I believe. The problem is that I am bothered when people take music that should be a great artform and redefines it as a stunt to be ooooed and awwwwed at. That's not the reason we should be playing; so that people can be impressed with our physical abilities. It's shallow, narcissistic and completley misses the purpose of music. You don't have to agree, but that's how I feel.
@VBach15C Actually i think thats a getzen genesis. because of the look screw thing by the end of the lead pipe. Which is a feature of the getzen genesis that lets you change the lead pipe and bell.

@jakegilles what he is doing is a technique called Circular Breathing. Check it out. In my opinion the best way to learn this technique is on a didgeridoo, but you can do this on essentially every instrument that requires air to generate the sound. It is the only way to create sound and get a breathe at the same time. tricky. next step is to beatbox at the same time :)

@XSASMrKiiLcAMz it's called circular breathing. he's fills his cheeks with air so he doesn't have to stop playing to take in air through his mouth. it's extremely difficult. and yes he looks like a little chipmunk or something :)

@jakegilles what he is doing is a technique called Circular Breathing. Check it out. In my opinion the best way to learn this technique is on a didgeridoo, but you can do this on essentially every instrument that requires air to generate the sound. It is the only way to create sound and get a breathe at the same time. tricky. next step is to beatbox at the same time :)
