@gigaboat i fly air france freqtly you cant say that man, better and safer than aa , ba, iberia and others etc, skill and the best maintenance team, modern aircrafts, way better food and care. I flew a lot of com airliners, air france is the best.
@MrMouns63 . I was 100% correct when I posted over 1 year ago . Air France crashed into another aircraft on the taxiway . the first A380 crash . Qantas had engine failure due to design fault , not a crash . Air France crew crashed . Air France have a long history of failure . The truth hurts .
I know, the way I phrased that was a bit awkward. I meant to say that the new typeface is nice, but the idea of having no space between Air and France is bad. =)
Love the aircraft, love the livery. However, will this bus really fill up on the route CDG-JFK-CDG during this ecnonmic reccesion? not trying to doubt it thought.
an interesting point, but I think that its sheer size can bring ticket prices down to a point where filling the aircraft shouldn't be too much of a problem
Well, that's not how the plane has been marketed so I doubt airlines would lower their fares. The A380 has been marketed to "provide a revolutionary flying experience to passengers" and it doesn't come cheap with a one way ticket from MEL-LAX costing $23000 (yes, $23000)!
a verry good plane, but where can you get 555 passengers in these times? the smaller 747 can not be full, i think the airlines will lose the money as this A380 plane have to be full seated in order to be profitable, otherwise the maintenence and fuel fees blow up investors money.
Retiring old 747 and replace them with 777 or other wide body jets on other 747 route. Hence, dispatch Airbus A380 to those denser area to gain profits from there. If Airbus A380 mend to be a economy failure, why should Air France continue to place their orders?
Do you think that Boeing can make Boeing 777 in just a week? Aircraft manufacturer all over the world takes weeks to built aircrafts and each process require detail specification to built.
It will be alternating routes for example: It will do CDG-JFK one day and CDG-YUL another and so on. I will be flying it in June 2010 on my way to italy can't wait.
can't wait to fly on it, too bad it is thru JFK though, it is an awful airport, very poorly managed apparently, with very unfriendly staff and terrible signing. Love NYC though!
this video was filmed at the airbus factory in Hamburg, Germany just after painting was finished. Last week I saw it in one of the six halls getting its interior. The second Air France A380 also arrived a few weeks ago and is getting prepared for painting...
it is well known that for a reason JFK authorities take great pleasure in delaying the arrival of AF at the gate after landing and (dixit AF staff) AF cannot say anything: typical anglo saxon double face attitude. Also, most of the immigration officers at JFK are fucking ass holes, they keep forgetting they are nothing else but our employees who have a job thanks to the people they treat like shit...
JFK employees are latinos and blacks that means poor performance and a lot of attitude...
I have the same plans as you but I would like to know in 2010, you plan to fly the A380 of what Airline, to what destination and in what month of 2010? Me I plan to fly the Air France A380 in june 2010 from Montreal to Paris.

I wonder if the advent of the web influenced this decision since web addresses combine words.

no body really rides the a380 for a important reason.
like a buisness meeting or something.
they only ride it for enjoyment.
once the inagural flight is over, AF wished they didnt have one.

It just looks ugly. If the cockpit were on the upper deck it would look more elegant and regal. This plane looks like the hunchback of notre dame!
