It's weird man. About the time that I was in middle school Arsenio was THE MAN and one of the biggest stars of the early 90's. Now instead of "kicking Leno's ass" he does skits for him and nobody remembers who he is. Wtf?
I love luther vandross, it seems like he had a lil fruity tutty in him by the way he was acting. I know he had sum sugar in his cup but damn don't show it. I miss him and this show.
THANKS FOR SHARING SUCH A GREAT MOMENT IN HISTORY THE BEST TALK SHOW HOST WHO MADE IT FUN BACK THEN & ALWAYS WAS DIFFERENT WITH HIS SHOWS & IT WAS LIKE HE WAS @ HOME HAVING AN INTERVIEW WITH FOLKS & ONLY HOST TO PREVIEW HIP HOP @ ITS BEST & GIVE A FORUM TO ALL WALKS OF LIFE...THANKS FOR THIS!!!!!!
Thanks for posting this but I wish you didn't cut Luther's song off though(must have been a music publishing) and it's funny Whoppi brought in some Crystal before Jay-Z made it popular four years later. It's kind of sad to see this because Arsenio was cut off the air too soon and when he told i Luther when you're skinny, you're happy. Man I wish Luther would had look inside himself & kept it going. He would still be here today. Now what Whoppi said about Paramount was exactly right.
I watched this show & cried. Paramount did him wrong & respect to Whoopi for letting the world know what they done to the Baddest to EVER run Late Night tv. There has been NO other since ArsenioHall that has brought it! I was a DEVOUT watcher!
Personally I think TBS should have given Conans spot to Arsenio. Luther Vandross was right. Americas later night fare hasd never been the same since Arsenio left. He was my generations (X) Johnny Carson. He really came on the scene at the right time and place. It was the golden age of hip hop Rap R&B. Its really ashame that it took 15 years for George Lopez to be given his own show. I wonder what The Arsenio Hall show would be like today? Oh wel, Thank God for youtube.
Its a shame.. Its just a shame that AH was muscled into ending his show. I know so many people who watched it since its inception and it was such a ground-breaking time for him to come out . He came out at the right time.. the 90's were great musically for "The new Jack Swing" and he supported so many growing hip hop artists. Not only did he have African American actors, he had white actors and hispanic..etc.he truly spoke to the heart of Americas youth.I was trully saddened to see him leave :(
know it was because he had louis farrakhan on his show and the white people who owned the conpany wanted to control him and so they used that to get him off the air because he passed carson and jay leno in ratings
LMAO at Whoopi and how high her voice was!

@CyrusRKO Last 2 years of his show, his ratings went down, due to the market getting very crowded after having the field to himself for awhile.

Without Arsenio, there would not be B.E.T
Without Arsenio, Letterman and Leno would be even more stale.
Without Arsenio, the only strong black people on FOX wouldve been the Wayans family.
