  • Original DRIVE script:

*Driver is driving somewhere and talks to woman in car.

    "...... uh.....hey..... wanna see somthin?......"

    "yeah...... "

    "ok......"

*Play synth pop music over driving montage for 34 minutes. Cut to elevator scene.

"Uh..... Hey..... There's a fly in your face....."

*Driver bashes guy's face with foot for 28 minutes to synth pop. Cut to frightened woman.

..... "You know the story about the scorpion and the frog?"

    *Roll credits... the end.

  • I love the girl in this movie....she's too cute :)

  • The "I don't have wheels....on my car." part of this movie is what made me keep watching it. I'm glad I did really.

  • What year/make/model is the car in this clip?

  • @Penult 73 chevy malibu

  • Who's the little Indian kid ?

  • :)

  • @Driver8039 You won't find full one at youtube.

  • im mad at the Oscar's for once again snubbing a good film from any awards

  • Always got a toothpick now don't even have my learners license

  • Even as Ryan Gosling said, this film is pretty much Pretty In Pink with a head stomping :D Its excellent, especially the 80's style soundtrack

  • This is the difference between film-making as an art form and the usual bullshit that hollywood pumps out every week.

  • I can't believe you people. Not only was this movie long, drawn out, and unsatisfying, but it was completely ruined by the music. you people are freaks. it was ok at best, could've been much better, don't know what movie you people watched LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @thnk4urself long??..its only an hour and fourty minutes, this film is made for people who like this kind of stuff and it's perfect for what it is.Thats why its in the making of becoming a cult classic, lots of people love it and a lots of people hate it.Definitely not for everyone, but that doesnt mean it sucks.

  • Casting and music in this movie were phenomenal.

  • it's the guy from breaking bad!

  • @Werpwerp16205 fuck yeah it, just with hair and 2. he's a good actor fuckin oldschool yo

  • The soundtrack is simply amazing

  • I like this scene because it shows how the Driver is a real human being before he flips a bitch and kills a bunch of dudes.

  • i ordered this on demand and watched in 4 times in the 2 days i had it. i was mesmerized by this film. gosling is fantastic as Driver and the director is a genius. and the music is just amazing. please see this movie if you havent already

  • Anyone lend me a toothpick?

  • Whomever was in charge of creating the soundtrack for this film deserves every award ever made because DAMN IT WAS A FANTASTIC SOUNDTRACK.

  • malcolm in the middles dad is the old mechanic ha ha

  • FUUUUUU BEST MOVIE EVER.

  • i guess 9 people didn't want a toothpick.

  • one of the only few downside to this film was they never really provide a backgrpound of his story and why he was the way he was. tha's one thing that was lacking.

  • @wizallday0 but that's what makes it so beautiful. no one knows his past. no one knows why he is the way he is. but no one needs to. what matters is who he is now, which is what the whole movie's about.

  • @Rainb0wWarri0r

not necessarily electing not to include a past doesn't make or break this film the reason why i liked it beause it was unexpected in terms of the main plot and mainly because of the soundtrack. it's just i was expecting for them to show his past at any moment and i was caught off guard when they never did. i just kept thinking to myself he probably was close with his father until his father suffered a traumatic death. oh well to each his own

  • @wizallday0 well remember that by not including a past it's open to interpretation. which makes this movie all the more interesting. you don't know why he acts how he does based on his past. maybe he acts that way because of his dad dying. maybe he didn't. but as I mentioned before, the point of the movie isn't his past. it's his actions in the present. like you mentioned, unexpected in the main plot? if his past was explained it'd be more predictable, wouldn't it?

  • @Rainb0wWarri0r the book goes in to detail about his past; his mom kills his dad and he's placed with a foster family in arizona. then he runs away when he is 16 and goes to l.a. sorry, wasn't trying to ruin your comment :)

  • @isaachaze1 oh well I think by omitting out the past in the movie it gives him that air of mystery. but everyone has their own opinion.

  • @Rainb0wWarri0r i wasn't saying you were wrong :). i read the book to get some of the back story and so i could understand the pawn shop robbery better (book didn't help in that regard).

  • @isaachaze1 I wanted to find the book, but somehow there are no libraries near me right now.

  • @Rainb0wWarri0r i got it at amazon for $5 on my kindle. it might be tough to find at a library right now anyway.

  • The only small drawback of the movie is the car they give him. Seroisuly they couldn't give him a SLIGHTLY better car. At least a nice looking muscle car like in Fast and Furious but withought the EXTREME!

  • @StudiosXPS he picked that car. :p

  • @Rainb0wWarri0r hmm....is that so? -_- WELL........This is akward

  • @StudiosXPS naw, that was his thing. he wanted souped up cars that wouldnt get noticed. the badass charger in fast and furious would DEFINITELY be noticed :)

  • @StudiosXPS troll or idiot?

  • When I first saw this movie I thought it was going to be an action packed with a dozen car chases and shooting guns and fancy karate moves but was so stunned at how much I liked it anyways. 10/10

  • ryan gosling looks like van der beek at 1:52, and the chick has a striking resemblance to michelle williams.

  • Continuity.

  • GREAT MOVIE!

  • Just, wow. I don't know about anywhere else, but in my country (The UK), hardly anything was heard of about of this film (despite its rave reviews) it was so overlooked... Just take a look at the 'Top grossing films of 2011' on wiki. Its depressing. Not a single mention of Drive. Idiot fucking public. Truly has to be one of the most amazing flicks of the past decade, if not (and a bold statement, I know) ever.

  • People who hate on Drive hate Orgasms.

  • I can't stop watching this movie. I have the DVD and the Blu Ray. I dropped the blu ray by accident and am going back to Best Buy to exchange it for a brand new one just to make sure its good quality. Is that bad? :))

  • @sup3rz0mb1e Nobody here needs to prove anything about you being a raging prick, you're doing well all on your own, child. Superzombie? Asshole your first zombie movie experience was remakes. Couldn't spot quality filmography if it kicked your teeth in... Happy to help.

  • This film was sooooo.....refreshing. Loved it. Right when the opening credits began, two things popped into my head. 1. I'm going to enjoy this movie. And 2. "Thief" by Michael Mann. If you guys enjoyed this film, be sure to check out "Manhunter" and "Thief." Both are crime films from the 80's. Both are directed by Michael Mann.

  • I think the chicks like this movie so much because gosling is in it, As a guy i enjoyed the first part of the movie but after that it turned into sort of a sobbing chick flick and i found myself forcing myself to finish watching it.

  • @skilo1983 There is literally nothing about "Drive" that screams "chick flick".

  • Best movie I can't get enough of this movie.

  • Some of the best music I've heard in a movie

  • I don't know why this movie wasn't nominated for an Oscar....this is the best movie ive seen by far!

  • @israelsito07 its nominated for best picture DUMBASS.

  • @hollingstihl but for BEST MOVIE! DUMBFUCK! :D lol best picture FUCK THE PICTURE THE MOVIE ITSELF THE WHOLE ACTING IS THE SHIT!

  • @israelsito07 are you fucking stupid? best picture, as in, the best movie. god your a total fucking moron. seriously.

  • @hollingstihl o yeah sorry...disregard my lack of knowledge in movie awards...mind giving me some information in regards of movie awards? ( no joke)

  • @israelsito07 no, because your a worthless fucking dumbass. (no joke)

  • @hollingstihl awww thank you i really appreciate your nice and considerate/articulate words :D....i really appreciate your time in describing my ignorance!

  • Heisenberg is in this?

    I'M BUYING.

  • @Resurrected2011 They did him wrong

  • @hotblooded1983 It's an amazing film and the soundtrack wow!!

  • Do I wanna see something? Yes bitch, I wanna see some action! I didn't pay money to watch two fuckin' mutes staring at each other! Gimme my money back, bitch or else I will show you something!

  • @mathetamas

monkeys to write learned fuck da who?

  • @pibadar It's people like you who ruined art in general.

  • @getlikemc

art my ass.. it's pretentious at best. i must admit the opening scene definitely showed possibilities but after that it was one boring witless ride. and btw, gosling is no modern day steve mcqueen. he lacks charisma and the scenes in which he overpowers his opponents are not convincing. the plot is one dimensional as are the characters. if you want to watch real art, go rent deer hunter.

  • @pibadar lol thanks for proving to everyone how fucking retarded you are, sorry your small little brain cant comprehend the amazingness of this movie. sorry your tiny little brain cant take it the artistic value and amazing plot/acting. hey little boy, why dont you go rent "fast and furious" lots of explosions and loud noises, right up your alley, DUMBASS.

  • @hollingstihl "Amazingness", is not a word. I think you may be the one with the small brain. Gosling is a bitch, and really can't pull off any kind of skillful bad ass, realistically. McQueen was, and is, the greatest driving/actor in cinema. The Deer Hunter is an amazing movie. Therefore, this leaves me to think the person you responded to, is far more intelligent, movie wise, than you. Again, you want artistic value? Go watch something good.

  • @SUP3RZ0MB1E again, sorry you couldnt understand the movie. gosling is a fucking AMAZING actor. go watch vin diesel movies....they might be less confusing for you.

  • @hollingstihl Vin Diesel is a fag, and a shitty actor. I didn't say Gosling was a "bad" actor, he just is NOT convincing as a bad ass, or "cool" guy. Same as Ryan Reynolds in "Buried". yeah, he did a good job, just not convincing. He is too goofy. Why do you assume we like shitty action movies, just because we dont agree with you about one movie? Get over yourself, you douche.

  • @SUP3RZ0MB1E lol awwwwwwwww u mad? yes, u mad.

  • @hollingstihl I think YOU are the one who is mad. Someone says Gosling isnt that great, and you get all bent out of shape. Boo hoo, he is the best! go watch vin diesel, boo hoo! ha ha ha ha. Grow up, child. If there is one thing I have noticed about youtube, it's when someone is proven wrong, or to be legally retarded, they either make an insult about someone being gay, or mad, as if it will somehow prove you right. Pathetic.

  • @SUP3RZ0MB1E lol damn umad lmfao.

  • @hollingstihl Not at all. Not only am I not mad, but I am quite happy. Mostly because I know I am right, and you are wrong. This movie is crap. And that's OK, because there are hundreds of GREAT movies I can watch, that DON'T have bad actors in it :)

  • @hollingstihl

you mouthbreathing troll, get a life and stop barking around like a little faggot. nobody gives a shit how much you want to suck ryan gosling's dick.

  • @pibadar I respect your perspective, and I do believe 'The Deer Hunter' is a timeless film (own it on blue ray), but I don't see the connection between the two films.

  • @getlikemc

i was just stating the differene between a great movie - deer hunter, and a decent flick - drive. ppl for whatever reason make 'drive' more than what it really is.. a pretty good original flick, nothing more nothing less.

  • @pibadar That's your opinion and definitely not a fact, so don't act like it.

  • If I was in my car and asked a girl I had only recently met if she wanted to see something, I would get a slap and possible registration on a certain list. Ryan Gosling does it and it's one of the coolest and beautiful scenes in a movie I have seen in a long time. Amazing soundtrack. Amazing film.

  • YO Mr. White. BITCH!

  • this is for all the autists watching this film for feels.

  • very original, very unique

  • Incredible scene.

  • this movie stirs up the feelings i had as a kid watching great films from the 1980s. this film is so clever in that it is so modern and yet so painstakingly beautifully familiar.

  • @ruddgirl me too. when i finished seeing it, i didn't want to watch anything else. One of the most beautiful films ever made.

  • @ruddgirl ohhhhhhhhh the 80s...when life was so beautiful...when I was young and didn't care much about anything...I love this film

  • This guy remind me of myself, a bit of a loner at times (by choice)..But has a huge heart, and as uma thurman said in pulp fiction can't people just be in the moment with somebody without having to use words or say something fancy..When two people can just shut the hell up for a second and not have that awkwardness, but you can still feel the connection..that is when you have someone truely special. And i don't know about you but i am a firm believer that you can make it far in a relationship

  • @legitstik2

    Totally agree mate.

  • "You want to see something?"

*Takes her to The Sewage Oasis, and she loves it*

    Triple-A movie!

  • adamsın :D

  • Terminator 2 spot.

  • you know they're good actors when their long awkward pauses deserve oscars.

  • Can anyone actually drive a car into the LA river?

  • what's the name of the song?

  • @Gill2242 A real hero - by College.

  • based on this video i think i need to watch the move....................everyone that saw it like it?

  • @youdragon highly recommend it man...don't watch the trailer tho, it gives away a lot of the story

  • @youdragon

Drive is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. Pure genius... A very special moment in film making history...

  • Robot:a love story

    (i still love this movie)

  • This is a really beautiful, sweet scene...might be my favorite in the film.

  • One of the worst films I have ever seen. The main protagonist played by Ryan Gosling has to be borderline mentally retarded-- and from a doctor who analyzed this film with me-- he diagnosed him with autism

  • @HoltCalifornia a doctor diagnoes someone in a movie ..... yea right .... STFU

  • @DriftkingS2K It was my father.

  • @HoltCalifornia

I'm sure that "doctor" was your psychiatrist, you stupid fucker

  • @jpa1974ad Nah-- it was my father.

  • @HoltCalifornia here,1000 internets to you sir, that last part in your comment....i have tears im my eyes,i cant stop laughing at the autism part hahahaha

  • @HoltCalifornia Oh yeah cause when someones quit that automatically makes them Autistic.

  • @darksideofevil13 quiet i meant.

  • @HoltCalifornia Why did he think he's got autism? Could you elaborate on this theory? And I don't want to sound hostile. It's a neutral question out of curiosity.

  • As much as i loved this movie this scene kind of baffled me. I mean what exactly did he show them that was so interesting? It seems like he just drove down the street and i guess at one point on the side of a hill by it but still nothing mind blowing.Yet they all seem like they're having the time of their life like it's their first time in a car. I thought at the end when they showed that hole in the forest he'd drive into it but no. So yeah can anyone explain this?

  • @darksideofevil13 It was the canal road he was showing and driving through it! Its not hard to figure that out.

  • @rubioproductions I didn't see him drive threw the canal itself which is what i think you're implying. But i rewatched this scene of the movie and i saw where they went into the forest after so nevermind.

  • where's the meth?

  • great movie.

  • so before he was a driver he was some sort of hit man or something ?

  • I remember driving along there when I was playing San Andreas

  • God this movie is beautiful. Finally we get a movie that has amazing artistic value without being boring or lame. It's been a while since that's happened.

  • @backyardbeachbum PERFECT description of the film. PERFECT. It was shot to be appreciated by people who know good cinematography, but not so "out there" that it was distracting or done in a way where people who didn't have a clue could say, "I liked it" just because it was different. Perfectly shot, acted and executed on every level.

  • @backyardbeachbum yeah Gosling said that he liked Refn cos he makes arty movies, but they're not so self indulgent and they speak to the audience well.. unlike so many crappy ones. Drive was amazing!

  • fuckin amaizin film!

  • I thought he was gonna unzip his fly and pull out his cock LOL

Dude: ''Hey you wanna see something?''

    Chick: ''Yes :)''

Dude: '' *pulls out cock* SAY ELLO TO MAH LITTEL FRIEND''

Chick: '' *opens door and throws herself out the car in shock* ''

    LOL

  • one of the best films of the past decade

  • @DonCorleone87 not that much of a feat, the decade barely 2 years old.

  • @farhannius16 exactly! haha =)

  • @DonCorleone87 what the fuck? the past decade? the past decade would be 2000 - 2010, this film was published, released and finished in 2011, dude.

  • @DestroyingStreets EXACTLY.... for the millionth time lol

  • Track : College - A real Hero

    Best movie ever ...

  • This is a beautiful, understated scene, and the two leads have a perfectly fragile chemistry which was a joy to watch. Loved scenes after this also, with them mucking around by the river. No dialogue needed, the music says it all. Agreed: best film of 2011

  • Instant classic and easily the best film of 2011. Straight into my top 20-25 films. Gosling talks more with his eyes and expressions than his mouth in this movie and it works beautifully, the tension it creates in certain scenes is just majestic, if you dont like drive you should prob stick to cheese fests like fast and the furious. Drive is simply a stunning and original love story, probably the best ive seen since true romance.

  • @pyrates80

lacking life? coming from someone who plays world of warcraft

    lmao

  • @pyrates80

Just like your knowledge of understanding if a movie is good or not. They didn't have PG-13 ratings in the theater for this movie because it took a 12 year old to understand this pile of shit. And you sir, need to grow a pair, faggot.

  • carrey mulligan is awesome in this movie

  • I want to go see the movie drive because I never seen it but I like this preview

  • Yeah, I want to see something. I want to see Drive again.

  • @Sotnas :)

  • @thederparted2006

Best film in the shitty category of 2011.

    get a life.

Drive isn't beautiful nor art, it's like looking at a piece of shit and giving it a complement..

I completely understand this movie, and it takes a brain to realize that this movie is the a pile of thrash.

You just proved you don't have a brain.

And to everyone else who thinks this movie is good: you guys are funny. might as well take a comedian course.

Even a game Story-line can top this.

  • @202Aamir i dunno dude, maybe it's time to head back to transformers

  • @202Aamir

Angry nerd is angry, must took a lot of effort to find this video and write all that. I bet your life is very lacking.

  • @202Aamir you've completely missed the fact that film is not a story driven medium. the reason people love this movie has little to do with story and everything to do with how it's told. which is exactly what makes it such an effective, well made film.

  • @202Aamir Yeah, cool story, bro.

  • @202Aamir Fuck off if you're gonna be like that.

  • @202Aamir You didnt explain why it was bad :O

  • @202Aamir cool story, fucking prick

  • @OreiZlatan He's just a man who does what is needed.

  • ooo yeahhh the best scene!!!! and the song is great!!!

  • Uwielbiam ten film, kurwa.

  • My favorite movie this year by far

  • yes pleeeeeeeease i wanna see something ehehe :P

  • Comment removed

  • GTA SAN ANDREAS.

  • @CedricP91 more like vice city...

  • what car ? 2:19

  • wtf i thought they will crash at end :((

  • he should have said "do you wanna see something" before he turned that guys head into mash potato in the lift would have made it a bit more charming

  • @wwkproduction poin poin poin

  • WE SCORPIOS ARE HELLBOUND HEROS, MOST OF US

cant fuck with scorpios even ryan gosling is a scorpio

  • mr white?

  • Too bad they cut it short. These 4-5 scenes really make the movie.
