What!? I use to have my laptop on a book too; and the bios- motherboard got fried anyway.it wouldn't boot up at all. I now use a hairdryer to get it to work sometimes. I also have a giant flat wooden board I use to place the laptop on; that helps a little.
yes..... thats a big problem with many users, they overheat their laptops (specialy dv series) because they are holding airflow and fan cant cool the video card. thats because hp dv series have only one fan for processor and video card and it should cooll down both . for me it was advantageous because i bought used dv6000 (overheated) then i reflowed it and it works fine with good care. it cost me only 20$
I just use it on a table desk from now on I have been using it on my lap and on the bed for a while, the top left kept heating up now when I use it on a table it still does, does it mean my cpu or graphics is fucked up? I went to a computer store and he blew dust away its working but I'm pretty sure it wont last for too long.
do you mean that i give a lot of money on my laptop and i cant keep him on my bed? i use now a cooling support with fans but it stills get hot... stupid acer laptops.. i want to beat the crap on that ingineer from acer.. until he shits blood..
@catalynoo lol yeah that's why they changed the name to "notebook" instead of "laptop" so you don't use them on your lap. I find Macbooks the very best design since they use dual fans one for gpu, one for cpu and they're in the top of the board so it's possible to use them on the bed.
@reply4reply why to pay 1300$ on a mac? when the salary here is 300$ i have to work 4-5 months and dont buy anything to get a mac.. why to do that? i think a laptop costs a lot of money and should be good to use not after 3 months to be good to throw it to the garbage.? a laptop isnt suposed to be used a lifetime or you buy it and then you throw it ? i dont get it :|
@catalynoo no laptop is for life, except maybe Mac because mac parts quality is very good but they're overpriced ofcorse. cheap laptops have a lifetime between 1 year to 4 years but better to get desktop it's much better, you don't need more than 4 years because technology has moved by then and you want new technology to keep'up.
3)i have a simple tip for u that i use go under a fan and put ur laptop on your lap thats it i have Dell Inspiron 1525 and all games now work with this tip even more heavier file plz subscribe me and make channel comments
@coolracer99 with MacBooks, it won't matter at all if you sit the computer on a bed, or even block the rear vent. it has a bi directional vent which means if the air doesn't go out of the back, the air will go out of the top. just under the screen, kind of like a car de-mister. :)
@AkimboSliceNDice for very light games this an okay. best way to get a good desktop with specs for gaming and multitasking is to build one yourself, also much cheaper
Heh. I think computer manufacturers should start putting the fan on the top wear the speakers usually are or on the side. That way the term "LAPtop" Actually makes sense....
@sillyboylights That's why they recently changed the name from "laptop" to "notebook" Because it's not very healthy for you or you're laptop to be on your lap.
Hi, I've tried all the tips, but no one was working, my laptop stays hot, and he also makes a lot of noise. what should I do, please help me, it's really irritating.
@ImunityPT123 The HP DV9000 and DV9500 are not gaming laptops nor built for gaming, just because they have a good graphic card doesn't mean they're gaming ready, those temps are very high and don't be sad when it dies pretty soon.
@reply4reply its been like this for about 2 years now, before that it was around 93ºC, i have it for 4 years now but i am thinking in getting a gaming desktop soon

this is a bit risky but this is what i do... i get a air tight resealable plastic bag and i put like 10 ice cubes in it then when it gets hot i just rub the top of it and the keyboard for like 1 seconds and it instantly cools it down for like 20 mins
@reply4reply Is there an easier way to clean the hp fan than to remove all parts? It would be awesome if I could just remove 1 case. Please help me! I have a dv7

@1xboxboy when you are rendering watch the task manager and which applications are using the most power and shut down those that are not cs4 like skype, msn, utorrent, iexplorer as those will slow you down.
I have a dell laptop which has 2gig ram, 2.00ghz dual core and it renders hd quite nice but I dont use cs4 because cs4 is built for super machines like quad and i7 I use simpler softwares like acrsoft for HD content and movie maker.
hey i have a question on how to make my laptop render videos faster. i have adobe cs4 and it took one video 10 minuites to render 9 seconds. i have 3 gigs ram and 280 gig hard drive. how can i make it fasterr

@1xboxboy whats the processor? cs4 focuses on processor for its rendering it doesnt make much use of your ram or your video card.
