NOT from the 70s. This is mid 60s at the LATEST!!! I was in junior high when this came out and that was 1963-66, so it was no later than that. Little Anthony and the Imperials had gorgeous productions and drama in their songs. A HIGHLY overlooked group. And Hurt So Bad is a Black classic, although not so much in mainstream culture, which, at that time, hadn't integrated Black music into the culture, unlike today.

Loved this song, and sang it all the time when it was on the charts!
