i think it has good and bad things but i like the idea, i dont love de costumes but its somuch better than the tradicional costumes and those horrible wigs. I like that they move the arms but i think sometimes it´s to much and it kind of loses the escence of irish dancing
Not a copy? Have you seen Lord of the Dance?? I felt like I was watching a low budget remake....all the way down to Bernadette Flynn and Gillian Norris' dances.....and really aweful Irish dancing. I love modern Irish dance shows....but this is sloppy and doesn't even look like Irish dancing most of the time.
whilst they are all very good dancers none of the males even come close to the ability michael flatley has-he defies belief and dont forget they would not be doing a show like this if michael flatley hadnt set the precedent for shows like riverdancee LOTD
Speakforyourself) Ur Right of course. Michael Flatley brought Irish Dancing into the modern day. He did this mammoth task WITHOUT losing the spirit of the dance, People have tried B4 & since with various dances and failed miserably as no one other than Flatly has ever been able to keep the spirit of the dance alive while making such Monumental changes. Michael Flatley is surly Blessed By The Fairy Kings, Queens & Little People.
as a performer,he is brilliant,,but i guess he danced through his life-more than 30 years of dancing-no wonder he prefers teaching than dancing on stage.
His personality is lovely indeed.I like both Stephen and Ronan.
I consider Stephen-without hesitating for a minute- a better dancer than Michael Flatley.
It is funny, but some people thought that Stephen was/is Michael Flatley's son.
Stephen Scariff has potential,he is the best dancer i have ever seen,i'd say he was born for irish dancing, and he is very good for a teacher, too.I experienced what it was to be taught by Stephen. He is a true genious.
As a performer,Stephen is more interesting than Ronan. He draws attention right when he starts dancing.
Ronan-as a teacher-is veryyyyyy good and he has a great sense of humour,
Doesn't look half-bad, actually. A little too modern for my tastes, but it looks better than anything that Michael Flatley has put together (sorry if I offended anyone).
I think that the costumes in Riverdance and LOTD are perfect, and should continue like that
and about the arms, once again its not competitive irish dance, it's show dancing, I like the arms, except when they are swaying. That looks kind of messy, but the acting arms are fine.
I'm glad they got Mairead Nesbitt, shes an awesome fiddle player.
it's also awesome to see different races dancing too, but I wish they wouldn't do the gypsy thing like LOTD though
Wow--anyday of the week I will say that Micheal flately has the best rhythm ever, but this guy can really dance! wooo!
I agree with the costumes, although i disagree with wickedfan that
"Girls will see this stuff and think, 'Ok, I guess that is how I should present myself when performing.' It takes the whole self-respect aspect out of Irish dance."
this has nothing to do with real irish dance, this is performing... ah I'm running out of letters!
yes, he is an emazing dancer. he was my teacher for three years and the way he is performing on the stage is incredible. although, from my point of view, as a teacher i would prefer ronan morgan.
btw. all that dancers are from ronan morgan school in hungary, i think. (but i'm not sure in this part).
Flatley started a new type of Irish Dance with sexy outfits and a looser hold on the arms. It's what "performance" and the stage attitude is all about. Traditional Irish Dance with stiff arms and traditional costumes is not seen as appealing enough for the general public. Performances now have to have flashy lights and lots of sex appeal. It's great to see that these dancers can actually dance, it would just be nice if they did it more and left the sex appeal and arm movements to someone else
looks ok. beeter then some dance shows that have been brought out. but the whole thing that seperates irish dance from other ofrms is the fact that the arms and body are strights and controled, and the feet r doing all the work...this concept seems to have been forgotten in such shows. all the arm movements make me cringe. just messy
Well, is the first time I see Irish Dance Invasion, is kind of cool but there is too many hand movements. I Think the best part are the solos from Ronan Morgan and Stephen Scariff along with Mairead Nesbitt solo (she is so beautiful playing the fiddle)
EVERYONE DEAR PEOPLES OF THE WORLD WATCH ABOUT THE FIRST GENOCIDE OF THE 20TH CENTURY!!-> Armenian Genocide, AND Armenian Genocide Protest,,,, RESEARCH IT, KNOW ABOUT, GO AGAINST THE EXISTENCE OF THE HATING,RACIST,KILLING,GENOCIDAL,ANTI CHRISTIAN,ANTI JEWISH,ANTI WOMEN RIGHTS, ANTI KURD,ANTI ASSYRIAN,ANTI AREMEAN,ANTI GREEK, ANTI CIVILIZED,ANTI FREE SPEECH REPUBLIC OF TURKEY!!! GO TO WIKIPEDIA,,, ARMENIAN GENOCIDE ,PROTEST TO YOUR GOVERNMENTS FOR THIS HORRIFIC BEFALLMENT BEFORE HAPPENS AGAIN!!
This seems more modern and tap with an Irish flavor, and hot looking performers (no arguments there!). But I guess Flatley let the genie out of the bottle, and this is the logical extension as envisioned by the younger generation. Being 41, Riverdance/Flately is my pace.
This is certainly a first-rate production, and it's apparant that the performers -can- do traditional Irish dance. Although the raccoon mask doesn't really work... ;-)
yes she is Angie.Hollaubek Agnes. She used to teach irish dance with Ronan Morgan, but she quit teaching in 2006 december.I dont know the reason for it.But the other girl,is from Taiwan, and she is sooooo lovely,a very nice person, she teaches also in Taiwan.(The girl in red dress)Actually she is the nicest person in the group. The guy in jeans is Stephen Scariff who is, guess the most talented irish dancer i ever met.He is such a kind person.
Hi all delighted to be able to tell you that this show will will be back off the shelf later in the year as it has just signed numerous contracts around europe with diferent theatre companies. I'm sure it will be extremely successfull wishing them all the best!
Stephen and Ronan took these Hungarian Dancers from scratch to the stage in about three years! And look at them! This is a first rate show! They are amazing instructors.

I mean no harm, but this is way to modern, I see no story line at all. not to mention, at first I wasn't sure if I was watching irish dance or not.

I think this is great! Fresh and exciting, and not a copy of Michael Flatley but rather a development.

Is the music their own? Otherwise, what's the tune called when the girl in white dances solo? It's the slip jig piece.
