@johndogg47 WOW dude I'm suprised you get such a good tone out of a Line 6... I usually don't like their tone at all tbh haha... but good work man seriously.. love it.
@SUPitsDave me neither, but I managed to get a passable metal tone out of the amp at the least. I now play a Bugera 6262 halfstack, blows it completely out of the water.
@ILikeToPlayGuitarToo You'll need a soldering iron and solder if you have older versions of the pickups. If you buy them brand new, however, EMG has a new solderless install system. Just follow the instructions and wiring diagram that are included with the pickups.
There are numerous guides to installing EMG pickups, do a google search.
I don't usually measure my string action, that was merely an estimate, It's probably lower; I adjust my neck relief and lower the strings until they buzz, then back them up until it's at an acceptable level.
great cover bro how is the tension of the low 68 string got a 66 right now and its still kinda loose to me should i go up to a 70 or a 68 will be good
@mario4526 I don't think there would much discernible difference between a 66 and a 68, keep in mind however if you do go for a heavier string, you may need to file down your nut in order for it to fit properly.
@mario4526 With the heavier strings I had to make a compromise; my action is around 4-5 mm at the 12th fret; I had to raise them to prevent excess fret buzz.
@johndogg47 damm bro 4mm at the 12th fret thats high even with heavey strings you should be able to get it down to at least 2mm at the 12th fret check your neck dude make sure you dont have too much relief in your neck
@haydenmtb3 In this video I am using A light-Heavy set with a .068 string for the low E, so it keeps correct tension. However, with that being said, I found that the g, b and high e strings were far too floppy in drop A#, so I am currently using a set of 11's with the same .068 for the low E, I find this makes the strings far more playable. Play around with different gauges every time you change strings until you find something you like!
Hey man, great cover. How do you get that really punchy sound that BMTH does in the intro breakdown when you hit the really fast stabs? I've been trying for a while but I can't get it...
@Captainfluffcake666 its a different pick technique, Its called djent. its basically the opposite of palm-muting; very forceful staccato picking. Let the string ring out to get the initial sound, but mute directly after. I find using an upward stroke makes it really easy to pull off, and it allows you to quickly get back to palm-muted riffing.
Would u recomend this as a second guitar or a schecter Damien elite? I have a choice of both but Im a little skecptical about the bolt on in the schecter as is as easy as these...
@129jasaxos I've never played a Damien Elite, so I can't really offer an opinion on that one. Both companies make great guitars though, you can't really go wrong with either choice. My advice is to try them both out and decide which one you like better. I also wouldn't be too concerned about bolt-on necks, the RGA32 has an all access neck joint which makes it easy to reach the higher frets, not quite as easy as a neck-thru, but easy enough.
@silverlininification they were pretty good for stock pickups, they felt like a less defined EMG. They were noisier than EMGs, but a noise gate can control most of that. Everything is routed nicely to upgrade to EMGs or Blackouts if you don't care for the stock pickups.
@NoppaX I didn't install them myself, but the tech who did put the 9V in the AA battery compartment. He said the pots didn't need to be replaced, so all you need to do is solder the wires I'm assuming.

@CDeMita I use 1mm black Nylon Dunlops. In my opinion the best picks ever. They dont break, they're thick enough to easily tremolo pick or play breakdowns, but they still flex enough to easily play chords.
probably one of the better covers of chelsea smile on youtube. no one here seems to actually watch the bands and see that the intro riff is played on the E like you played. well done
How is this guitar? I've been thinking of getting this guitar. I hear it's good, even with the stock pickups compared to passive infinity pickups other Ibanez guitars have (even though I'll change them anyway).
The guitar is really nice for the price. I would definitely recommend it if you play any kind of heavy music. I find the bridge on this guitar to be the most comfortable fixed bridge I've ever used. It handles drop tunings really well too. What you've heard about the stock pickups is true; they're the best stock pickups I've ever played. The only negative thing I found about them is they were really bad for hum at high volumes. I paid 350 US, after mods it was 700 Canadian.

are the stock pick-ups any good, are they a piece of junk?
14GiorgioS 2 years ago
They give a sound similar to EMGs but with less clarity. They're excellent for stock pickups though, probably the best I've played.
johndogg47 2 years ago
are they 81-85 humbucker emgs?
this was a sick cover man, ftw! and keep on rocking

Yeah, 81 in the bridge position and 85 in the neck position.
