  • is there any serious side effects with stinging nettle supplements, raising testosterone??

    low blood pressure??

    death??

  • Or you could just eat eggs or something like normal people...

  • whatt a hippie

  • Just crumble between fingers and these are way to old to eat you don't want to eat to many of them, get the small ones.....

  • @leahcimrac what specifically are you using it for?

  • Make sure you chew these bastards. I got these growing outside my door. Constant supply of free medicane.

  • @leahcimrac I hear its great internally and externally (hair) but I still have to research it. I use Aloe for internal benefis.

  • oh crap dtm!! this is classic

  • this is classic

  • Wtf Dan the Man in this vid after 3 mins with short hair :D

  • I just wear gloves to pick it and then cook it like spinach.

  • @3:12 thats DTM the Liferegenerator

  • @monkeysdemons LOL. Yeah that was a cameo by the Liferegenerator!

  • @monkeysdemons Yeah and he has now turned against David Wolfe.

  • Stinging nettle stings actually boost your levels of neuro transmitters, so the odd sting every now and then isn't so bad for you.

  • id hate to correct you because this was pretty informative (actually i love to correct): this is actually in the same kingdom, phylum, class and order but a different family. very cool man, thanks for the video.

  • @bag04u Im gonna add you to my freinds list cause your awesome!!!.

  • @bag04u LOL! Nice one!!!.

  • @bag04u Ok Mr.SaladFingers =P

  • I think it isn't very healty over here not to wash the leaves because of much PM10 here in the Netherlands.

  • the stem stings not the leaf.

  • I would have never believed you could eat this. Does this apply to all strains of stinging nettle? Im not sure what types we have in Australia or if they are native here but Ive seen some small tough leafed types and some broader soft leaf types here. Both sting like a son of a bitch.

  • cannabis is weed!!!

  • magic carpet wearin dick head

  • you can just wilt them over a fire it takes the sting away

  • NOTE TO ALL FANS OF DAVID AVOCADO WOLFE: Avocado is no longer affiliated with Sunfood dotcom or Sunfood products -- for over 2 years. He recommends the products at LongevityWarehouse dotcom now! (See his Facebook Fan Page "David Wolfe" for more information in his own words!)

  • what the hell?

  • Don't u have to wash it before eating incase anything fouled it, ie a dog or anyone urinating on it. That be handy stuff to eat too I thought they had to cooked.

  • @MrUNIXman Hes eating the top of the plant....urine from a dog? Is at the base, and I doubt a dog will piss on a nettle. We have three acres of them, no animals, or dogs will piss on them. I promise... will jack with this plant. I haven't seen any animal yet other than some birds......eat round this and most of them are quail....or doves. Those animals cannot get sick at all. they are the cleanest of the bird kingdom...I have them in my front yard which is a 12 acres track full of nettles.

  • dude....i think dan the man is in this video!

  • I heard that if you cut the leaves and let them stand for an hour, it won't sting anymore. Plus, you can cook it like spinache.

  • Is that DAN MCDONALD - AKA "TheLifeRegenerator" towards the end of the clip at 3:05?

  • i searched for nettle chose i accidentally stepped to huge bush of nettles with my bare foot.

    damnnn. it feels so nasty!

  • @LeevuskaRakastaa and you got....asthma inhaler medicine....thats where they get it from. Now you know.

  • In Europe, these things are EVERYWHERE!! Like, you can be driving your bike down the road and youll find a forrest of them haha. Anyways, I was sure they didnt exist here in north america, until i rode my bike through a narrow path in the woods, and they started stinging me like once every 2 seconds in the feet then the hands... the pain isnt that bad... it feels exactly like a paper cut. Idk, it hurt, but not enough for me to turn around and go back. i hate mosquitos alot more >.<

  • the wolfe man knows what he's talking about but his ego is outrageous...its all about him

  • If you eat too much stinging nettle your hair will get an erection!

  • @twotwentyswift Haha, that cracked me the fuck up, nice!

  • @twotwentyswift .....and if you add the root as well your hair will cum?

  • 0:01

  • Cat nip will calm the restless mind.

  • Nobody ever seems to mention that nettle is one of the absolute most DISGUSTING tasting plants in nature. Not something you want to rely on eating as a staple for the rest of your life.

  • @DanielLionheart1 Dude - I really like the taste of nettle. So let's say it's not disgusting, you just don't like it.

  • @brraaanno @brraaanno The very brand new leaves at the top during springtime are tolerable, but if you eat the larger leaves, it really doesn't matter how long you boil it... I've never tasted anything more disgusting in my life. And I eat almost EVERYTHING. The only part of the nettle that actually has an agreeable flavor, in my opinion, is the roots of the young plants. You can clean them off in a creek and eat them like carrots, and they taste about as good. It's not that I don't believe...

  • @DanielLionheart1 Yeah - I meant those springtime tops. I have eaten just those and leaves around 20 cm from the top - tasted almost the same - rather tasty. But I have never eaten any boiled leaves or those biggest leaves so I dont know.

  • @brraaanno @brraaanno ...that roughly one out of every 3 million people likes the taste of nettle leaves. It's just that, since they have such a horrible, bitter flavor, I wouldn't focus on nettle as a top recommendation for wilderness foods, for the average person. It's survival food, if you're starving, that's about it.

  • @brraaanno yeah well some people really like the taste of shit... doesnt make it any less fucking disgusting -_-

  • @FeralFoods: It is no longer in the "Urticates family", it is in the Urticaceae family alone, which it no longer shares with Cannabis and Mulberry (when Urticales was an accepted order). They are now all in the same order, Rosales.

  • HAA HAAA HAAA, WHAT A HAIRDO, HAA HAAAAA

  • lol wow, I never noticed Dan Mcdonald until now. 0:01 - 0:06

    He also speaks at 3:03 - 3:14

  • Nice hairstlye, really...

  • this plant is every were in russia but i did not knew so once when i was playing with my cousin (he lives in russia) the ball fell in to the plant and guess what i did

    i bet you know.........

  • I love this video, but 2:56 just makes me giggle. "You grab under, taco it, in." LOL!

  • go to nandos for a gd meal and stop eating nettles

  • @ringtoneXx Shut up you self righteous wanker.

  • Which part of the plant is good for hair? Some say only the root & stems and other only the leaves. I've read that washing your hair with a decoction of the root is good for the hair. Any ideas? Thanks

  • outch

  • thumbs up if you're here because of salad fingers.

  • @asalkowskineo well im here because of salad fingers but i hate thumb uppers.

  • i have heard.. you pick them from the end of the stem, them put them over a fire for a couple of seconds and THEN eat the leaves.. i suspect this is the safest way as it kills any little bugs you cant see... correct me if i am wrong..

  • Manhandle the plant, make sure to use plenty of pressure wherever you contact nettle and you're less likely to get stung. Pop a stem off and strip or pluck the leaves aggressively. When you harvest nettle with pressure it bends or crushes the little hypodermics that inject the acid that causes pain. They sting when you are gentle and careful with them.

It's good in juice unless the tops have flowered, which may cause a urinary tract irritation similar to mild Venereal Disease symptoms in men

  • This stuff tortures my flesh. It chewed me up. I posted something that happened when I apparently accidentally touched it 2 months ago; It's eating my skin. And I am still recovering. The first time I touched it, 8.5 years ago, I had a reaction. I carefully traced what I had done and I did pick some mint where there Had Been nettles. But I never saw them and I wouldn't touch the stuff, it's very mean.

  • Nice introduction! I frequently pick / forage some nettles in my area. And I used to make tea of it.

But most recent I discovered the taste of it in soup. And by passing it through a blender the nettle soup will become all nice and smooth.

  • Um....he's got that wrong. All 3 are in the ORDER Rosales, not in the same family

    Stinging Nettle: Urticaceae

    Mulberry: Moraceeae

    Cannabis: Cannabaceae

  • this is gay, I eat stinging nettle all the time I got no technique and never get stung on the tong. Just don't fear the plant and don't be careful when you handle it. What the hell man why do tons of people gather around this guy to see how to pick nettles, Don't get me wrong I think the guy is Ok just all the people around him are retards, just pick and eat man GOD!!! ohh and girls its very nice to rub some on your VJ... I recommend it.

  • hehe, in holland they grow in every part that isn't concrete :D

  • A true herbsman.

That woman should have been thrown into the nettles by everyone.

  • That lady sounds like a ''know it all'' who shouldn't be on a nature hike. She should stay in her house with her ''teas''.

  • silly cow in the hat, yes i agree.

  • Interesting! To learn more about wild plants you can eat I would recommend this site:

    the-goodlife.info

  • thanks mate really imformative I'm going camping soon so i know what I'm eating if im hungry xD

  • ever heard of gloves?

  • @Xersi Heheheh!

  • growingyourgreens grows the stuff in his garden and eats it like salad. =D

  • ALL biologists I've talked to say to only eat ones that are knee high or shorter, otherwise the silica crystals in the plants are big enough to do damage to the small capillaries in your kidneys.

  • keep hitting it...hmmmm david wolfe blazes that shit up!!

  • 3:05 OMG IS THAT DAN MCDNONALD THE LIFE REGENETAOR?

  • @trevfrank yep

  • Much better added to a raw salad, with some raw garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice.

Got to love him and he knows his raw food. With the prices of food now that it has been securitised by the markets, and the pesticides, plus GM in everything that is not organic........this is the safest food we can eat.

  • Taco Taco

  • I feel very threatened by this guys hair.....

  • I should make a suit with stinging nettles covering it.

If I had that, I could be invincible.

  • @shawbros Unless someone gives you a firm pinch.

  • Look at that hair. If only they presented themselves in a manner that wouldn't draw ridicule their advice would gain support, but nobody wants to have dreadlocks or wear native american looking hemp clothes.

  • @hughtub it is the information not the presentation. don't be so shallow.

  • I come from a small village in the middle of nowhere and we used to eat this when we were kids. We had no candy and no shops to buy sodas so nettle was a treat. I didn't know the English word for it so I thought that it was a unique plant that only grew in certain parts of the world like my village. I just found out that there is a world nettle eating championship in the UK so that was quite interesting.

  • This guy is a nutter!

  • biggest nut ive ever seen and heard from. Whack job, crazy hobo, hippie, shroom head, asshole, scam artist. That pretty much describes every thing about david wolfe

  • @shakesuma67

Nasty name calling, sheesh. Wolfe has done a lot of good educating the world about raw food. If you don't have anything nice to say, you know.....

  • @shakesuma67 Still looks like he is a hell of a lot smarter than you will ever be jackass

  • push him in them nettles (:

  • what and outfit XDXDXD

  • Humm even though i eat alot of food raw i have heard of people eating stinging nettles raw even after juicing them or blending them and ending up in A&E from throats closing up, i prefer to lightly toast mine, i still believe that there is going to be 100x more nutrition in slightly cooked nettles than in raw supermarket bought 'greens'

  • @ophelianymph

hi, the thing with stinging nettles is that the leaves are covered in tiny little hollow thorns filled with boric acid. the acid is what irritates your skin after a brush-up with a stinging nettle. they are highly nutritious though, all you need to do is boil the leaves first. When you boil the leaves the acid is dissolved into the water, then the leaves are perfectly harmless, and delicious. they are basically like spinach and can be eaten on pizza or whatever.

  • Im guessing hes being so cautious because of the noobs. I seen practiced survivalists strip nettles, bare hand, like its no thing.

  • we have those growing on our back porch. I didn't realize they were nettles and I went to pick them. OWWOWOWOWOW >: E

  • Hippi

  • Highly entertaining BS

  • THAT IS SOME RAD HAIR!

  • salad fingers!!!

  • Careful, someone might pick your hair

  • @PhuqueU lol thats fucked up

  • 1:40 he says its one of the greatest prostate medicines in the world, then immediately after that he says its never been discovered before. however informative this guy may be he still comes of as a bit of a snooty know it all. im hungry for nettles

  • "that's ever been discovered" he doesn't say never

  • I follow the laws of nature:

If a food gives me discomfort, I find it bitter, or even stings me, it is not designed to be eaten by humans. A warning that tells you to leave it alone.

  • @ShroedingerWatcher Actually chemicals are released by the stingers that is good for the brain.

  • @1too3fore,

So, just go off simple beliefs like your claims while ignoring one of the most important safeguards in nature? No wonder humanity is the way it is.

  • Sure, and you would probably still stay away from tomatoes and consider the earth was still flat. Many poisonous plants are used by humanity. I suppose you don't drive a car either, since it uses heavy metals? Or wait, you don't use a computer?? LOL! what hypocrisy!

  • @1too3fore Does it matter what shape the Earth is? No. But humans had to get the idea to "travel".

Ooh, what do you claim on tomatoes? Lets hear it.

Yeah there are many poisonous plants, some used to kill animals with.

Why would I drive a car? I have legs you know.

Hahahah, the computer argument. But why are you stopping there? Why don't you include all the other goodies that makes everyone a hypocrite?

  • @1too3fore The key thing is: How can you expect anyone from birth, that went through all that animal consumist conditioning, from the parents, advertizing, things on TV, video in general, to just suddenly know? it is impossible.

But another thing about your (repeated by others) computer claim, what are you using it for?

I'm using it to find what I'm after then I'm out of here.

  • you can smoke its seeds its gooooooood

  • are you serious or just joking cuz ill try it.

  • yes im serious

ive never done it cause ive always got sum weed lol

but my granddad swears by them he says the make your happier lol like natures Prozac

  • thats freakin dope! i wonder what else you can smoke out there in forest land

  • smoke some fly agaric

  • I love nettle leaf tea! Yummy! I wish I had that many plants!

  • they grow sooooo lushly here where i live.

  • Is that the "Liferegenerator," Dan the man with the master plan at 3:12?

  • Yes! ...and I'm at 3:16, the girl with the long sleeved bright greenish shirt and boy short red hair! I had positioned myself over there so I could be directly across from Dan and continue to check him out, I am sure...as this is of course footage from the retreat at which we met. I remember this day like it was yesterday... ;)

  • LOL, you are staring at Dan! I was wondering why some 13 year old red head was checking Dan out ;)

  • oh, he'll be the first to admit that he does indeed like 'em "young & fresh!" no wonder why he calls me baby girl... and keeps us on a diet where we grow younger! it is all beginning to make sense now, his master plan....

  • haha so cool to see you and Dan in this video!! I saw the video before but didn't notice you! hahahaha

  • too funny, Krista! We are sooo onto him :)

  • Comment removed

  • @milokito lol I wasn't even watching a health video but came across this somehow lol ...u and dan are omnipresent lol :D

  • rofl laughing if someone peed on them nettles

  • can you smoke it ?

  • same question

can we smoke it?, it will trip me up?

  • Hippies, gotta love em'.

  • i have that shit all over me right now. on my legs my wrists and i think on my face!! it fucking sucks!!!!

  • whats the verdict on the month long nettle juice fast

  • I pick this stuff all the time. You dont have to fold it. Just make sure your palm side of your hand is the only part touching the leaf. If you have the back of the hand (soft tissue) touching it, then you'll get stung.

  • Idiot,

You can just hold your breath then you wont get stung by them, not this friggen taco stuff xD! plus i wouldnt eat one anyway, it could clog up our throat.

  • nigga,,look at yo hair

  • ahaha he got stung so many times while demonstrating, and then tried to play it off cool as if nobody saw it.

  • ah fuk nettles they weak as shit

  • Me luf his hair ;)

  • Awesome. I keep meaning to attempt to eat some, gonna try and get my friend to test it as well.

He's right, they are very good for you.

  • lol freak

  • WTF, he only eat the leafs??! Is this supposed to be hard, perhaps?

  • Heh I fell into a pile yesterday whilst fishing, jumping into the river was the only way to sooth that anoying pain

  • the stings off nettle aint so bad anyway. 2lbs of nettles, boil in 3.8 litres of water for 30 min. strain into a container, stir in 8oz of demarera sugar or brown sugar, and stir in 7 grams of ground ginger, touch of cinamon. then let it kool, at some dry yeast to luke warm water, then add into the pot when its cool. then leave if for like a week or so. and bottle it. yum yum

  • He keeps talking about silicon (Si) for the body in his recordings but does he really mean silica (SiO2) and other silicon oxides, or is there a distinction? Just wondering out loud.

  • I love this man!

  • they taste so much nicer just wilted over a fire and no sting,no fuss ..no look at me 2 lemons zest and juice 1 kilo nettle tops 1 gallon water 1 kilo brown sugar ,1 teaspoon fresh yeast spread on toast .i teaspoon ginger ,after it finishes kicking .bottle or drink

  • haha interesting stuff.

that bit was funny where the woman was talking to him for five minutes and he wasnt listening. as soon as she finished, he just changed the subject.

either too self-important or a bit self concious and not a great communicator.

missing the point i know. interesting vid

  • this was great.... i was at Metamorphosis and I learnt how to fold a nettle without being stung...nettles are my favourite ``weed``...mothers earth best medicine(:

  • do people buy this crap !?

  • Making stuff up? this guy is an expert on herbs and nutrition.

  • what crap? nettles are great foods, I enjoy them every spring.

  • yes, but you usually pick a bunch and boil them and make soup.

  • I used to do that too before I got a juicer. The juice is very potent, not as tasty as the soup, but far more nutritious.

I also use them as a fertilizer for the plants in my garden.

  • Yes because people used to survive on what they found in the wild.

  • if nettle dosent work. u may have another problem like ADHD bipolar u can choose to take those & this or just this. Western Medacine or both. Im doing both. ADHD & bipolar reqiures meds or u can do it all natural its up to u both are good for me.

  • my freind told me about this. Humboldt herbals Eureka I went & bot Nettle Leaves tea & I tryed it I felt great.Nettle contains antihistamine very good for your health makes your body more resistance to pollen & its good for pain makes your arms bend clear. dont buy it if your not a consumer type. dandelion root is Awsome too got a bot of that man it is great, I take Prozac man they work to gether really well. & I take flonaze Mix mullein ,Nettle ,yarrow & dandelion root 30 minutes

  • seriously? wow.

  • His hair is just rediculous

  • his hair is AWSOME

  • That's part of what happens when you go extreme in dietary, particularly on the vegan side of things, besides raw, along with other influences in the 'alternative' direction.

  • you can draw them on the stalk over a naked flame also.

  • OH! I just saw a video, and the woman wets her fingers first, pull upwards as she snips off....and rolls the leaves in towards one another into a ball.....and pops leaves into her mouth. Nice little tip she had there.

  • David Wolfe sells alot of Expensive supplements that he claims are supposedly 'raw' and are loaded with all kinds of Nutrients.

My question is a simple one, just as we can all take our Water to a Facility to have it independently Tested and Analyzed as to its specific contents,

Is there any Place out there that Independently and Scientifically 'tests' Nutritional Products so that we can know if we are being lied to or not ?

I cant be the Only asking this question and wondering !

  • David, You got stung! And the sting is not fun. I use gloves. Laughing. No need to prove you are brave folks. Once dried or steamed, they lose the sting. So, I agree, juicing is a great idea for raw. I freeze small batches of juice in my freezer.

  • ohh man i got drunk last friday and fell into a bush of them head first and my face got all fucked up

  • i actually dreamed about eating SAD and smoking^^ Glad to wake up in the raw reality! Without Allen Carr i dont know if i ve ever succeeded in stopping the SAD lifestyle, great psycology method. Susan jeffers is also bomb!

  • How interesting, I do not even know what a nettle is.

  • LOL, it's one of those nasty plants that give you a fresh feeling in summer, when you walk along them.

  • Actually the flowered nettles just irritate the urinary system, it doesnt actually feel like rubbing them against your penis

  • unless you actually rub them on your penis.. not like id be into that or anything..

  • btw, leaves on netles do not sting, no matter how you grab them, as for eating them. fuck that....

  • No they do not sting as easily if you grasp on them, but if you rub against them then your in for trouble

  • Yum stingy, but with a hint of dog piss.. Delicious!

  • If u want to build up your body strength, eat this kind of food. look at the gorilla, his diet is 80% green plants and he s the strongest family member of the human ape family. Fruits are mostly devoid in minerals.

  • is stinking nettel seed a complete protein like hemp seed are?

  • lol, it stings!
