This is way better than the other trailer. i think people didn dig it because it had a girly song but i think it fits the film more than the other trailer's johnny cash song. this trailer is absolutley awesome.
@jchez1965 It is not a remake. It's a film adaptation of a novel. It's like calling Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" films a remake of Ralph Bakshi's "Lord of the Rings" film. Just because they are both based on the same novel doesn't make the later film adaptation a remake of the earlier film adaptation. And John Wayne's acting is not that good and he's too one dimensional. Jeff Bridges is a better actor than John Wayne and will be able to play the role of Cogburn like it was meant to be.
Sorry... but his acting is on a whole new level with this picture. Even if John Wayne won an oscar for the exact same role, I'm willing to put my chips down that Jeff Bridges will own this role when the film comes out.
Are you friggin' kidding me? What is Hollywood thinking!? Why are they re-making classics? I grew up on John Wayne movies. True grit was one of the best movies ever to come out. They're spitting on old school movies. Hollywood fill your hands you SOBs!
Man this looks eerie and shows the dark side to human beings, like all Western movies should be like that's what it's all about showing another side to people making choices that effect their lives in different ways.
@proman84 Coming from the goober who posted Maria, Mirabela - Music Cartoon Movie. Sorry that it pains you all that A Serious Man was the worst film the Coen Brothers ever made, but you need to let it go. Unlike A Serious Man, True Grit will be a hit among Hollywood and the critics.
@kronos3636 Why does it matter which one of their movies is worse or better? They have never made a bad movie. And who gives a shit about what Hollywood or the critics think? Sure, the critics might affect how the movie does in the box office, but ultimately, why does it matter what anyone else thinks? As long as you made the movie you wanted to make, anyone else's opinion is irrelevant.
Explain to me, how working in "entertainment" (when ever that was specifically a job) in L.A. means you know everything about cinema to date... in actual fact, A Serious Man was a very well regarded film, and a damn good black comedy and it also won many awards.
The Internet was a quiet and civilised place until idiots like you worked out how to use the "On button".
@TomothyMayhem Either you have a real hard on for the Coen Brothers or you're on the rag (rag specifically made for a male bitch like yourself who plagiarized a quote). Many awards? What fantasy world do you live in? It won 4 small insignificant awards. Give me a break. Black comedy? Yeah it was and the joke was on you buddy. If you feel the need to reply back to this and I'm sure you will, go right ahead and indulge yourself. My life in L.A. and my job in "entertainment" will not be tarnished.
@kronos3636 Wow. It must be tough to be both universally correct and a douchebag at the same time. Have another crantini and keep rolling those calls.
@etherbingedotorg Wow, want me to grab a box of tampons for you too...lol. Geez, I've never come across a more defensive group of girls over a movie before. And you buddy are the biggest bitch of them all...lol.
@kronos3636 No thanks on the tampons. I haven't made a single comment about the film, which I haven't seen. But you have, despite knowing about as much about it as I do. And the fact that you think anybody who has a differing opinion from yours is an idiot gives me license to call you a douchebag, which I have already done. A differing opinion is not necessarily wrong - generally people figure this out by the time they're out of diapers. You are out of your diapers, right?
@etherbingedotorg Really? So your pathological. So this whole time you're getting off on this. That's sick and demented. Let's prove how sick you are and reply back to this comment.
No, I just know movies, unlike you. Who seems to be moved by the opinions of critics who don't exist.
"My life in L.A. and my job in "entertainment" will not be tarnished" It already has been, and you haven't needed us for that. You've been destroying your image with your own ammunition.
@TomothyMayhem Thank god you know movies. That's great! So why are you continuing an argument from this morning? Are you pathological too? Hit reply for "yes".
@TomothyMayhem One, I can't believe you replied back proving my point. Two, thank you for calling off your boyfriends over this pointless argument that you can't let go because you're a pathological online stalker. May god have mercy on your soul. I seriously mean that.
@CoyoteTwelve That doesn't hold water and you're still missing my point. Coen Brothers are top notch filmmakers. They're going to create great cinematic films that will get nominated for something even if doesn't deserve a nomination. A Serious Man, consensus wise, is the worst film they have made. It was Burn After Reading, but A Serious Man took the cake. Apparently you and this tiny A Serious Man fan club you have here are the only people who think it's not. Their take on the Job story failed
I am so excited for this. The original had a fantastic script, and though really dated it certainly is a charming film. However, it is one of those films that I've always thought could be remade well, which is a rarity. And certainly to have the Coen Brothers and this type of cast is a dream.
For once something looks like it is being remade properly, and improving on its original.
@oldmoviemusic Yeah I enjoy the John Wayne version too, but I agree this looks like it's going to be excellent. I also read somewhere that it stays more true to the novel, which would make sense.
I loved this movie

@Indy1489 pretty sure if anyone's gonna remake a classic, i'd make sure it was the coen brothers.

@throwbackdown Its actually more based on the book then the older movie. The Coen's have followed it more closely i hear.
