hey i went to jeff for my freshmen year..i love lafayette indiana..and i always looked forward to going to choir everyday..=] you guys are quite something<--i mean that in a good way
that male soloist!!! omg...gorgeous. great job!! its so unfortunate u werent at state. most ppl said that you guys and my school (pike encores) should have made state. Good luck this year. you are always one of my favorite choirs
I must applaud you for the work you have done with your choir, you have done a fantastic job however, the soprano is the begining and the very in is the wrong voice for this spiritual, The childlike small Charllott church voice is one i would not have recommend. It make the spiritual sound as if someone was mocking the slave or the arranger.
Well, dealing in a high school situation, you have to do what you can with what you have. You're not always going to have the Moses Hogan Chorale women in that age group/region.
"two great soloists" So which of soloists were not good? lol

I'm singing this in middle school Treble Choir. We don't have as many solo's though and the "Up on the mountain.." part is sung by the alto section.

The third soloist needs to make sure that she does not go sharp, but other than that, this is amazing.
