@SonicOrbStudios Mkay well if you had any common sense our see that its edited
but after watching this video i realize that you have none and the ONLY reason this video has so many views is because people watch it to see how bad it is i watched it 6 times just to laugh
@chameleon5311 In an annotation I put a link to a tutorial video on how to do the second half of this video. It should akso be linked in the description of this video.
@animelover13ify This is anything but perfect. I was trying an idea and just tossed a few floods on the set which as you can see, only keyed out a portion of the green screen. Color balance and scales were also off. If I were to be doing this for an actual production piece, I would have fixed all of those issues and done it much better....... including a motion background as well.
Why do everybody expect this to be awesome? I mean, probably way more than a half of those who commented bad things about this video don't have their own ''green screen-kit'' prepared to be used. So hey, you probably don't know how difficult/easy it is since you never tried, and btw, this was just a test so therefor it doesnt have to be WOW-ish. Show some respect, not all green screen vids are perfect!
@juliabakery2011 Here's the thing, this video got so many negative comments and dislikes bc it is called GREEN SCREEN TRICKS, not random white guy stands in front of a green screen. I am a film student and green screen really isn't that hard, its more about the effort you put into it, and this clearly lacked effort. This video should be called Green Screen test shot instead of tricks, this guy obviously wanted views so he named it something people would click on.
@SonicOrbStudios I understand the lack of animation but the lack of audio isn't so good it makes the video even it it is only 38 sec. long its still somewhat boring perhaps you can add at least some context as to what is going on it would be more interesting (even if it is just a test vid)
I'm planning on doing a video tutorial on how I did that but basically I took a photo of my desk and then a video of me sitting in front of a green screen and merged out the two in Premiere which was also the program that I used to warp/scale down the video of me flying into the screen.
to be honest there is nothing good in this video... people even very young kids do these kind of things... that's why you dont get enough comments... cause there is nothing to ask or be happy for...
check my videos... even though they look better i dont get comments too :D maybe because i answer every question in the description :D
Since when is getting lots of comments on a video a requirement? I do these videos to help others out or just for fun. I am not looking for tons of comments.
I don't see what the issue is here. This was just an idea put out there for others to see...there should not be any questions to be asked/answered here other than those that want to know how this is done....but this wasn't a tutorial on this so I wasn't producing this with answering how this production is done.
Either you need better software, or you kinda suck with green screen, your shadow was really glitchy, and I could always see green around you. You should save up and get Adobe After Effects
Read though some of the comments for this video. I used Premiere and being this was just a quick test for an idea or two, I didn't put up all my lights.
I currently use After Effects and you'll see the end result with my next Gear Review.
Thats your opinion, any tips on how to make it better?
I know it's nothing great, these were just some quick test ideas I wanted to get out of my head and try out. In a later movie, I used the computer monitor scene and it was much much better as I used different software and such.
Stand further away from the green screen and use different lighting because your shadow gets in the way. I don't know if you used after effects, but that'll probably help with color correction and making it look as if you are actually in the scene not just standing in front of a background. Otherwise it's cool
Being a small studio, it's hard to stay away from the green screen. for the full body shot I was working with limited lights. This was all done in Premiere with the cruddy keying program. Back then I didn't know how to use After Effects. These days AE is my #1 program of choice for special FX.
Toss in a very old consumer MiniDV camera and you get my basic setup. I'm saving up for a nice HD video camera...can't wait to get that.
technically you could import the video into After Effects and put a mask around the part that gets sucked into the screen and rotoscope it all but overall a green screen would be MUCH easier to work with. The tubetape website has a nice muslin green screen on sale now which would be a good buy.
why would you even mention windows movie maker... it is the shittiest program in the entire world obviously you cannot possibly do greenscreen effects with it
No I had a chroma key and lights way before doing this video. This is just an idea I was messing around with and a partial scene from a video I was working on at the time
In after effects there is an Effect called "Spill Suppressor", you can use this effect in adobe prere bemiy copying it into the AE effects folder in premiere's effects folder. You can use this effect to get rid of just about all the green. And all it does is change the hue of the colour you pick, insted of keying it out, so its a good effect to get rid of the green glow around you, after you use the colour key.
yea the snow image didn't come out great because I don't have enough lights but the computer sequence is very clean. I could fix it up a little more with some time. This was just a quick little demo.
wtf is wrong with your face

@Reegareth Once again, it was just an idea I wanted to share and put out there. Audio and video where not important at all in this case.
The "test" is the fact that I could light and do a somewhat good key on a full body subject.
This is one of my higher rated and most watched videos and so I figure a lot of people seem to enjoy it....even though it's as simple as it is.
The second part of the video was used in a later production and FX and such where added making it much more "fun" to watch

I have a tutorial on Premire going over Green Screens and chroma keying, that will give you the basics on what I did for this video.
These days I use Adobe After Effects for my green screen keying but it's just about the same process on how it;s all done.
I don't have much free time these days but when I get the time I'll put up a tutorial on how I did the sucked into screen thing.
Thanks for watching

No WMM is a very cheap program being killed with the new operating system Windows 7 which will be out next month.
You need a higher end program like something by Sony or Adobe to key.
SonicOrbStudios 2 years ago
yea WMM is pretty cheap, but thx man ill check out dat new program dat comes out next month
dittydum123 2 years ago
where did you get your background?
HazelMermaidLove 2 years ago
I simply got that from a google search. You can also make original images in Photoshop or animate something in After Effects.
SonicOrbStudios 2 years ago
why would you even mention windows movie maker... it is the shittiest program in the entire world obviously you cannot possibly do greenscreen effects with it
christomz7 2 years ago
WMM is far from the worst program out there. Sure it crashes often however it's free so ya can't complain too much about it.
Actually with a few user made plugins at the WMM website, you can do basic keying in this program.
Overall, you will always get a better program when spending more money.

If I had the cash I would buy AE...and it seems to key out much better than Premiere IMO.
But I have to get a solid source of income first and with the economy so low, that's easier said than done.
