I have to ask, what does the prrrrrrrrrrr sound mean? I realize you use it to communicate with him, but I can't tell if you are using it sporadically or when he is doing something good or bad?
The p-rrrrr sound is used throughout Europe (mostly Germany) to tell a horse to whoa. It is really effective - this sound is so distinctive, the horses do not confuse it with other noices a rider makes.
That's great for starters!!! what a gorgeous horse!!! What breed is he? 5*!!

Good job, Josefien!
You quite rightly are proud of him, because he was really good with his first attempt for piaffe.
But you also were good and patient enough to be a good trainer.
After some misunderstandings and a rear at 3:57 there was an excellent period of piaffe from 4:10 - 4:17.
He definitively earned a big reward after that hard work!
There is still a long way to perfection - but he had a promising start!
Give my congratulation to him - and an extra carrot.
Good luck for both of you.
