Hi, got a big problem with my Matinee-Animation. My AnimTracks are not played in the Viewport, but they are shown In-Game. If I use a SkeletalMesh they are shown in the viewport and In-Game, but using a SkeletalMesh_MAT causes the Problem. Clue anyone?
This may be a stupid question, but... this tutorial was for Matinee, but can it also be used for animations that happen during gameplay. Like a player character that runs and jumps and stuff, and have those animations (running, jumping, idle, etc.) blend the same way?
Engineers need to figure our a way to make it artist friendly thats their job. It seems epic is kinda lazy when it comes to this. I was able to blend 2 animations by overlaying their tracks in a proprietary game engine I worked on in 1999 for godsakes so I know its definitely possible, its just sheer lazyiness on their part!
@wildone106 You have no idea what you're talking about. The entire engine is built up a specific way. Adding a small redundant feature that's against the entire architecture of the engine just to make it a little easier on n00bs would be a waste of time and money.
@toy741life I should? They should be happy creative people are even using it because its the cheapest option out there basically is why. Like I said, I was using a relatively ancient game engine in 1999 that would let me overlay 2 animation tracks and just blend between the 2! No need to set up 20 nodes and godknowswhatelse just to do the same damn thing!
Im having problems getting a walk cycle to work. i loops in maya but i dont know how to get it looking the same in unreal. is that all handled in animtrees? and does my animation need to loop on the spot in maya before exporting it or does it need to translate forward in space?
Sorry to ask you but the unreal forums are about as helpful as **I**
Im starting to learn animation blending but AT_CH_Human FullBodySlot wont create an connection to None. It says:"SlotNode does not need child node connected in order to play."?
Thanks a bunch for making this video! Informative and clear, been looking for a tutorial like this for a while. love the choice of song during the time lapse too nice work! :)
First let me thank you very much for the hot udk topic, this was very entertaining and very informative, as a non native speaker i particularly enjoyed your tutorial for its subtitles and your very good pace, you kept things very clear and straight, I really enjoyed your lesson. Your work is really appreciated please let us know as soon as you put nice material on the web again!

A ridiculous amount of set up just to blend between 2 animatons. Goddamn unreal..made by eingineers for engineers.
Good tutorial though..!
