  • thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hay dude, you saved my whole uni project. Your explanation of UDK is so good and easy to understand.

    Thanks man

  • Very good, no mistakes and editing that actually stops boredom!

  • you're awesome! thanks for the tut!

  • Brilliant tutorial.

  • Hi, got a big problem with my Matinee-Animation. My AnimTracks are not played in the Viewport, but they are shown In-Game. If I use a SkeletalMesh they are shown in the viewport and In-Game, but using a SkeletalMesh_MAT causes the Problem. Clue anyone?

  • great

  • Sounds like GassyMexican

  • @haney9 The copyright police?.. you mean the FBI?..

  • does this not work in June's beta? It will not allow me connect nodes to the channels created.

  • Very useful, thanks for sharing.

  • easy to follow along, nice tutorial!

  • a brilliant tutorial, very thorough - kudos to you sir.

  • This may be a stupid question, but... this tutorial was for Matinee, but can it also be used for animations that happen during gameplay. Like a player character that runs and jumps and stuff, and have those animations (running, jumping, idle, etc.) blend the same way?

  • it wont loop for some reason

  • thanks Morpheus, ill take the blue pill.

  • how do you make the legs move in first part when your showing the skeletal meshe

  • Wow its a tutorial I can FINALLY understand! you could get paid for that voice! :)

  • you have a REALLY cool voice man! do my answer phone haha!

  • where do i find this program? Is it with the Unreal Development Kit already or is it separate?

  • What is the song name?

  • @60554234718051990

get by with a little help from my friends - Beatles

  • A ridiculous amount of set up just to blend between 2 animatons. Goddamn unreal..made by eingineers for engineers.

    Good tutorial though..!

  • @wildone106 It is a game engine. You should be happy that unreal also allowws you to do animation. saves time for importing etc

  • Engineers need to figure our a way to make it artist friendly thats their job. It seems epic is kinda lazy when it comes to this. I was able to blend 2 animations by overlaying their tracks in a proprietary game engine I worked on in 1999 for godsakes so I know its definitely possible, its just sheer lazyiness on their part!

  • @wildone106 You have no idea what you're talking about. The entire engine is built up a specific way. Adding a small redundant feature that's against the entire architecture of the engine just to make it a little easier on n00bs would be a waste of time and money.

  • @toy741life I should? They should be happy creative people are even using it because its the cheapest option out there basically is why. Like I said, I was using a relatively ancient game engine in 1999 that would let me overlay 2 animation tracks and just blend between the 2! No need to set up 20 nodes and godknowswhatelse just to do the same damn thing!

  • @wildone106 ur just spasing out now...

  • i have the UDK and it wont even work! it freezes up when loading it, any advice or any reason it does that? please respond

  • good tutorial, well paced as others have said.

Im having problems getting a walk cycle to work. i loops in maya but i dont know how to get it looking the same in unreal. is that all handled in animtrees? and does my animation need to loop on the spot in maya before exporting it or does it need to translate forward in space?

Sorry to ask you but the unreal forums are about as helpful as **I**

  • LOL'd at the mech running to the beatles instrumental X D Awesome tut, really well paced :)

  • Im starting to learn animation blending but AT_CH_Human FullBodySlot wont create an connection to None. It says:"SlotNode does not need child node connected in order to play."?

  • @UnrealEngine3Help I've got exactly the same problem

  • Thanks a bunch for making this video! Informative and clear, been looking for a tutorial like this for a while. love the choice of song during the time lapse too nice work! :)
