  • YOU DAMN KIDS AND THAT CRAZY ROCK AND ROLL BEAT!!!

  • The more I watch this, the more I respect what FUN rock 'n roll used to be. Watch the hands, the yo-yo bit, the audience in the isles! Diamonds, Frankie Lymon, Four Seasons, the Belmonts...nothing compares to that today. Thanks for the upload.

  • At the Hop - Doo-Wop!

  • lets go !

  • At the hop, what a great blast from the past. Glad I grew up back in the day.

  • 1st 45 rpm record I ever bought (age 15) and it still sounds great today!

  • Great ! Huge hit in the UK and the USA. Why don't they produce stuff like this these days instead of the absolute shite that passes as "music"!!

  • I think people should just realize that most of the groups back then were just kids who never were outside of their own neighborhoods before ending up performing for millions of people on TV. Primitive, I know but it is real.

  • Good grief, they look about 12 years old! And all that gloriously 'spontaneous' dancing... just wonderful.

  • @AFR59 Seriously? Did you come here just to say that? Thumbs down for you, man!

  • Great song! I can see black leather jackets and duck-tail hair cuts.

  • The Rod Serlings minus the cigarettes

  • Good point, I mean personally I can appreciate rap if it's done well (i.e; origanaly) and not about how a man who wears his hat the wrong way round "slaps his biatch". However, nothing in the past 30 or so years has come even close to the standard of the Doowop era.

Contempory music though is just an utter insult and I'll be dammed if I'm gonna sit here on my ass and accept the sad fact.

Hell' Im going to comb my hair and buy myself a module 1956 cadillac eldorado.

  • This is one of the best songs of that era. I was 10 years old when it was out new, and spent a lot of time listening to the top 40 hits everyday on the radio. Most of today's music, sadly, isn't worth listening to. There were a lot of fantastic black singers back in the doowop days, but how do you tell if someone can sing if all they do is rap?

  • Did they know Jesus?

  • MY TV SCREEN WAS NEVER THIS CLEAR. HOW'D YOU DO THIS ?

  • Seeing the four of them up there all dressed in white shirt, tie and jacket just reminds me of how we could hardly leave the house, back in the '50s, without being decked out in shirt, tie and jacket. Society controlling us. Making sure we remain good boys.

  • @fferocious Yep. Now society controls us with tattoos, piercings, baggy pants, sideways ball caps, iPods, and Nikes.

  • Jake & Sadie <3

    Stephen King 22/11/ 63 *-*

  • This was great when it first hit when we were all so young & just learning to dance...& it still is a great song.

  • These guys set the standard for boy bands etc. Way ahead of their time...

  • do they think there elvis

  • @TheTlc69 No, they thought they were Danny and the Juniors. Wake up.

  • nice "video" thanks for the treat,diddybopper49

  • Xfactor wannabees take note, this is real music !

  • ROCK ON!!

  • they are wonderful, i love their music!

  • Melody and harmony..........they comprised the good stuff from back then, quite unlike the crap that passes for music now

  • This is just GREAT !

This MUSIC will live ON & ON.........

  • a lot betr tan the modern crap

  • These guys are so square!

  • @THX1205 square??? SQUARE??? How hot were you in 1958? Were you even around? If not, you don't even get a vote!!!!!

  • @BgMsDangerus Relax Dadio! You will have a heart attack! jajaja

  • @THX1205 Relax, Ms. Thang. It takes more than your snidely comment to get my knickers in a knot. BTW, you didn't answer my question...how hot were you in 1958?

  • The awesome thing is, all members (minus Danny, committed suicide D:) are still alive, two of em host a radio show in the UK

  • and then you got cool ethan in the middle

  • most people now listen to rap and all and so do i, i like all types of music but i just love older songs too! Lets go to the hop ;)

  • This is the real deal! Checkout rockabillygone alll one word for true rockabilly originals.

  • Love this song but who played the instruments? The dancing is so cool.

  • Love it! 17 Years old and raised old school!!!

  • Now this is ROCKEN Awesome!

  • wow, what a classic, this brings tears to my eyes!.....

  • Well, it was 5 years before I was born but it must be my favourite 50s song. I grew to love it at Rock 'n' Roll dance classes.

  • Those dang wild kids....all that rock and roll!!!! hahahahah...love this stuff. Thanks for posting.

  • The song is timeless!

  • what a time to live...

  • This music is so cool. I'm 20 years old!

  • Danny almost looks like Sinatra.

  • totally brillo!

  • Kramer was one hep cat until he made his opinions on black people public. Just sayin'.

  • This is a shameless ripp-off from the Woodstock movie OST! Shame on Danny & The Juniors.

  • this is timeless!!!! Major good!!!

  • とても綺麗な映像をありがとうございます。

  • Always loved this song

  • So sad he committed suicide in the early 80's.

  • im black and these guys rock N roll but there suits are funky

  • Caucasions have no rhythm? The film is out of sync you JO! These guys were from the next-neighborhood-over from mine in SW Philly. Danny Rapp is up-there with the coolest doo-wop singers of all time. He died way before his time. Negroes are better at some things than caucasions but to turn your cap around backwards and try to be one of them (so they don't beat-you-up) just shows how much of a punk you are!

  • real MUSIC.....nuff said!!!

  • This video just confirms the stereotype that caucasians have no rhythym. These guys definitely do not have the "soul" of a Motown group. The lead singers dancing is totally out of sync with the other group members who are struggling to remember the beat as well. These guys make the Elaine dance with the leg kicks and extended thumbs from "Seinfeld", look good.

  • Beautiful footage of a beautiful song!

  • just wow

  • man this sounds really similar to "rock and roll is here to stay" by the same guys. Anybody else notice this?

  • @SSUnitedStates52 - absolutely. It was a common practice back in the day when a group had a big hit the label would rush them into the studio to do a "follow up" record. Lots of groups had songs that came out after their big hit that were copies of the hit. It didn't work most of the time, but labels were stubborn and did it anyway. As you pointed out, in the case of Danny and The Juniors, it worked

  • How did we get from this to freakin Justin Bieber?

  • Oh baby!

  • One of my favorites back then. Too bad he ended his own life. Thanks for posting.

  • who would listen to this rubbish

  • @joshyboshy1999 it wasn't rubbish in the 50's.

  • @joshyboshy1999 People who enjoy rock music, punk music, pop music. You can tell Led Zeppelin liked this one. As for it being rubbish, it's a pretty tight band, great harmonies, great sounding recording/mix, and a great arrangement. What do you listen to, Lady Gag?

  • When I got into my 20's, (1971) Music started sucking, (as compared to the 50's/60's) but thanks to a group called "Sha Na Na" , for leading a "50's" revival that just started. When it first started, some radio stations in So. Calif. didnt want to go along with it. I remember one station (KRLA) saying " that you wont hear those tired, old songs being played there"....A short while later, they started playing the oldies!!!!

  • when i was young this was a "NEWIE" now its a "OLDIE"but still a goody...thank god for Utube

  • Mafia 2 Anyone?

  • @Wesker346 Mafia 2 is awesome because of this music :)

  • Classic 50's cool; can't beat it.

  • i danced to this song at the opening of some history thing with my dance team in tampa and was in the newspaper

  • this is awsome and original unlike the present day music that we have today

  • There are so many fans of this tune dancing twist in Japan. It may be famous for twist song in our country. (my individual impression) . Anyway, great song.

  • Sad I wonder why he killed himself? Never stated why he did it? I wonder if he got fed up singing that same old song 1,000 times and that was his only legacy in life?

  • Wonderful. Where was this dance recorded?

  • @Oldiesfanman Looks like one of Allan Freeds Rock n' Roll shows!

  • Comment removed

  • im playing this song in jazz band!!!!

  • I like that part when they say bah

  • Imagine these guys singing this in this day and age?

  • Nice suits!

  • @Accumulatenz so much better than the Leisure Suits of what, the 70s LAME

  • he this is great lad love all these im so young notting like this today

  • first record i ever bought, my style changed from here on in 1

  • fantasticko,60s everybody should have stayd the same ,a lost but not forgoten era ,lol

  • I learnt this song I music at school, then we watched this video and we pretty much all loved it. This is such a good song.

  • This is brilliant, and look at the quality of the video, its spot on,you would think it had been taped only yesterday......

  • My personal #1 song of all times. I must have heard it at least 10000 times in the last 20 years and it 's still soooo good.

  • people commenting on all these videos really seem to glorify the 50's.

  • Just wonderful...

  • 2011 FTW

  • Great song, but I cant stop staring at those satelite dishes on each side of his head. ;-)

  • @mgoKusarigama Agreed.

  • I love this. It's a great song and they're so very well rehearsed but what really shows is their confidence - arrogance almost. Fantastic vid.

    LOL

    xxx Anne en Merel

  • amazing!!! amooo essa música, maaravilhosos!!!

  • I did just learn by my own to play this tune with the ukulele!

  • I wonder if Danny & The Juniors realised when they recorded this, that today we would be a multicultural hell.

  • this is still brilliant all these years later, better than all the uk top 40 crap of today

  • @martystuart1000 No, you're just too old.

  • i danced to this at disneyland paris:) we practised soo many times. we also used pom poms i loved it!

  • @singingchampion12 guess wat... i did too! :) guess who i am...

  • @kittycat35625

  • @09Savvy stop looking for praise

  • @PrimalStones stop being a douchebag. it is a simple opinion.

  • @09Savvy know you're just looking for praise because you're 13 and listening to 50's music

  • @PrimalStones so every thirteen year old that takes an interest in 50's music and decides to go on youtube and make a statement about their thoughts on this music is looking for praise. well think again buddy, cuz i like all music.

  • @09Savvy Why did you mention your age, what was the point?

  • @PrimalStones the point was to give an opinion from a different perspective and age group.

  • @09Savvy no, im sick of it, ther is no need to mention your age, stupid fuckin American teenagers

  • @PrimalStones i am not american, fag.... for two, i really dont give a fuck what you think, three how old r u and why the hell do you give a shit what ppl do on youtube, and finally FUCK OFF DOUCHEBAG!

  • @09Savvy Oh shit you're not American and you use words like 'fag' and 'douchebag' start watching some fucking English programmers you cock

  • @PrimalStones very stereotypical of you. fyi, ppl write their ages on comments to express a certain point of view which you do not seem to understand, and instead nag ppl about it. instead of arguing over something as stupid as a comment, and take this time to go out and get yourself a life instead of interfering with others. This is my final comment to you because as we speak, im wasting my EXISTING life talking to you. Good Luck, fuckface ;)

  • @09Savvy you have to be American you just said FYI. no they don't, they want people to think "oh look at me, i'm unique i listen to 50's rock instead of "today's bollocks"

  • brilliant shame about this modern music thought its dreadful

  • I think that At The Hop is dating to the end of 1957...

  • the complete and utter dogs bollocks

  • classic song love it

  • I work in a warehouse and I'm sure I'd be the Kevin Bacon of my generation if they'd let me play this music while sealing pallets.

  • I am 21 years Old I have to say I prefer this music over some of my music of my generation as in this music is more fun while our music of today is screaming and not really singing

  • @prckay Same here. I love music from the '50s and I'm only 22 :)

  • @AlfistiKid 13 here.. I go to piegon forge tennessee every year and you hear a good amount of 50's music all the time there.. It's amazing music.. I don't really care for all this new shit of today..

  • I am 21 years Old I have to say I prefer this music over some of my music of my generation

  • im 15 and i feel the same way :P

  • Nice clothes. :)

    Still rocks!

  • He looks quite stunned lol

He's got a somehow gloomy expression in the eyes.

  • smart guys

  • I saw the Woodstock movie and liked the Sha Na Na version. after a while i forgot about the song. Then i played Mafia 2 and i heard this version :D loved it

  • Because of Mafia II I remember this song was remade for the CNE in Toronto called "Lets go to the EX". Either way I'm glad I got to hear this classic again :)

  • Mafia 2 brought me here.
