All of the little novelties of yesteryear that we covet today... where our grandparents were when it began. I think it's wonderful you have positive things to say on a day many people fear most. How serendipitous that the minister that married your parents - sending them off to start a new life together - now sends your grandmother off to continue her life with her husband. It's the kind of stuff that Hollywood put in movies to have the audience leave with a smile. And, as always, you've done it for us.

When someone's lived a long, full life to an age we'd all hope to reach, where continued life would only really be taking a toll on them, then it's a different kind of sadness when they pass on.

She lives on - as all our ancestors do - in us and our children and their children to come. Having changed the world forever through their families and actions, echoing into infinity.

Whatever our other beliefs, that is an immortality that we all indisputably share.

Thanks Elphy. I was just going to tape a small bit of the minister because of his history with my family. But he did such a wonderful job, that I ended up taping the whole thing. My mom and aunt were very thankful, because they want to hear it again too. ;) But it did feel a little weird having a video camera there.
