  • You guys are correct that Model A's do have an access hole to crank start them as a back-up to the electric starter. However, this one has a tool box mounted out front that blocks access to the crank hole...push starting was the easiest at this point until the starter was repaired later that day.

  • sweet car

  • Couldn't you just crank it?

  • @CarGuyZM10 how? without a bendix the starter cannot engage...

  • @biglinc1 I believe Model A's came with a crank, so that it could be started like a Model T.

  • @CarGuyZM10 A-Models were not a "crank" car like the T-Model... They had a start button on the floor near the pedals...

  • @biglinc1 True, but I am 99.9% sure that Model A's had a crank that came with the car, in case their was a problem with any part of the starting system (such as a dead battery). If you search "How to Hand-crank the Model A Ford" you will find a video of someone doing just that.
