  • this is really cool. was born in clark a month before the eruption. thanks for the upload because i will never get to see it this way in person

  • I was born on clark air force base in april 1987 thanks for the upload.

  • cool video. my dad was an F-14 Tomcat RIO and brought back lots of footage from patrolling around the volcano after the eruption. amazing stuff

  • Where is the part 1 of this video?

  • Wow...I lived on Clark from '83 to '86 on Tawi Tawi Street. I could retrace my walk home from the video. I'd walk from Wagner Middle School up to Grissom E.S. then to Tawi Tawi. it's amazing to see what happened to the area. Thank you for uploading. I would always look at Mt. Arayat thinking it was gonna explode. Little did I know Pinatubo was a lot closer and I had no idea it was there!

  • Those dirty little thieves took EVERYTHING, including what WAS nailed down! I lost everything I owned, not due to the eruption, but from theft. All I can say about the aftermath, is KARMA IS A BITCH!!!!!

  • first time i watch a footage of the aftermath of Mt. Pinatubo eruption....

  • thanks for the video..i was not here when Mt. Pinatubo erupted...and first time i saw a video regarding the eruption...it scared the hell out of me when i found out about the eruption..thinking how's my family back here....i'm in kuwait back then and its just few months after the first gulf war so we dont have any way to communicate here...when i got back oct 91,,, got so sad in seeing my hometown..i almost got lost didnt know wheres my house located bec theres still the ashes everywhere....

  • This was the most dark period of my life. Watching my hometown buried in all that ash. Then having to be evacuated at Subic and become a refugee sleeping at a basketball court with all other evacuees and eating C rations. Leaving in those big C140 planes to Hawaii. It took me 8 years to travel by plane again because of that long and strenous journey.

  • As i watch this Video my Tears Drop :~( I remember the Old days when i also leave at Clark air base with my Cousins i was 18 years old that time .....

  • r u referring to MR. ESPEJO? @wwhite

  • He Got Hit By a Bus?

    What Happened to your friend?

  • did anyone not get evacuated from the hospital? how horrible it was, I had no idea. The first time I heard of it was watching the show ghost hunters international. giving tribute to the lost soldiers and those who died there. security said it was buried under six feet of ash.

  • I was actually one of the last people off Clark.

The Volcano crew left before we did. I was at main gate and the sad thing was the Captain with myself and another NCO left before we did. He looked at us and said Your in charge. Terrible Shame.

  • Thank you for staying, when the boss didnt. What we do for our jobs...

  • this is so sad to see....anyweiz everything is green now u can see for your selves

  • This was really hard to watch all my childhood memories are all gone. I used to hang out at the youth center. Also the base housing were all my childhood friends where there you never really know what you got till it's gone. I remember that day we evacuated. it was scary. i left just when it erupted i was already on the plane. i still have relatives in angeles city. i really miss it there .

  • It bring back old memories working at Levin Fitness, old Angeles City.

  • I still miss the Clark Air Base specially those U.S. Armed Forces. Life is good living during the presence of U.S Air Base.

  • Just got back from Clark Oct.08..It is doing great and the place is clean and a lot of tourist.. I live in USA/Cebu, go back and forth..My Brother-in-law lives in Angles City...I only wish that Clark was still a US air base..The PI is still a Wonderful place to live..Will be going back Nov.09, Mother-in-law will be 95 yrs.old..She lived in USA for 13 yrs. Visit the PI, you won,t be sorry..Love ya..

  • my dad lived in the philippines

  • 18 years later Mount Pinatubo, revealed its real beauty and it's attracting thousands of local and foreign tourists. The crater lake is so amazing. Surrounded by lush green vegetations, fishes and other life forms regenerates. It's a new cycle of life indeed. The tragic memory almost forgotten.

  • Love your vids, but have you ever considered changing the subtitles to a more legible font??? Seriously, most of the white outlined words are impossible to read, can't understand why you keep using an illegible design.

  • Let us not ever foreget that it wa th birtish that came and tried to reclaim the usa and we kicked your ass and now you kiss our ass. i like a bitch who bites back as long as it knows who it's master is, go fuck yourself limey. Oh yeah, who pulled your sorry ass out of ww2. Simpleton

  • woow really so were was the help for the philippines in june1991 and what about the gulf now?not doing much 2 add the rebuild after u bomb the shit out of them or gaza stand by while school kids being bombed out of their schools british and un tryed to stop yet usa think its a good thing.750million from british govement and people sent 350million.usa people only rase 18million us dollers £HIGHER than $ so go suck eggs

  • all he usa gave the philippines was junk food and a sex trade your no super power, about time your try 2 fix your own country rather than mess up others

  • ONCE AGAIN

    MY ADVICE

    SHOOT YOURSELF

    PLEASE

YOUR USING UP MY OXYGEN AND I'M SAVING IT IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS, LIKE YOU HAVING A BRAIN, THAT WOULD INVOKE THE APOCALYPSE

Thank you and have a wonderful just hurry up and die.

    :)

  • good if i keep typing u use up your oxygen and u die cool!!!1 last yank in the world is not a bad thing this should be a new sport yank bashing.but we get away from the fact what have u really done for the philippines?or the world come 2 that

  • Oh ho...

    oh...

I am going to seriously blow your mind.

  • The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami killed over 240,000 people, the US donated $350 million dollars and also sent over multiple naval vessels with humanitarian aid and medical supplies, along with doctors and peacekeeping staff. The US has also committed to a long term appropriation of funds that comes to around $950 million dollars to help with relief efforts.

  • Wow, that's great. How about the 10.6 TRILLION DOLLARS of debt?

  • Ulol Baliw Ka Ba? Tangengot

  • yes its a new year but if it was not for the usa would we have fields av full of yanks on hoilday useing young girls for sex?how many army trucks and troops hit the streets close down the city?u sent word so only 500 died you had time and the man power to get every one clear did you?no have i seen clips show usa troops help clean up?no would it be better place without usa?yes

  • STOP TYPING

    GET OUT OF YOUR CHAIR

    GET A GUN

    SHOOT YOURSELF

    ITS BETTER THAT WAY.

Hell I'll help if you give me your address...

  • all you yanks think of sex drugs and guns if you dont like what people have 2 say kill them hu?lets was it usa has a lot 2 answer for and no country likes u grow up u inbread monky and face facts your country sucks have a nice day now

  • not misguided blame only say how i see it if the british army was there or un trucks would be out geting people out of there homes tents set up after water food meds all kinds of aid not any of this is show in any vid sorry if it upsets and only ask what the usa really have done to help all i see the philipines have got from them is fast food and a sex idustry but it is a new year hope things will get better

  • 1 think gets me in the clips after the eruption were are all the usa troops?looks like you left the philippines to clean up,you show nuns helping out were is the aid and troops man if the british were there they would be out in force helping and in the first film you show the air base being empted but what word was sent out to the philippine people?

  • nobby604: What did you do during the evac,to ease the suffering? Have you decided that Americans lack the genuine desire to help?

Some might say, "Beautiful Baguio may never have developed,if not for creation of Camp John Hay."

How would Subic Bay, or Angeles City have developed in the absence of a US presence from the Spanish-American war era.

Instead assigning misguided blame for the bad things that happen in our world, let's use this fresh new year to be more supportive in our thinking...

  • What word sent out to the phillippine people? Quite alot of words actually.

So much that only 300-500 people died. Now 300 people seems quite high, but you have to remember the population density here.

Pinotubo had a high population number in subic bay, well over 200k people I think. If we didn't warn them, this would of been FAR FAR worse than this.

  • @nobby604 You didnt see the troops after the eruption The movie doesn't show everything. The latter part of the movie was before the Volcano. The Philippine

government wanted a numerous sum of $ to renew the base agreements

that was expired in June. The U.S. couldn't afford to pay half a billion $ yearly

and rebuild the bases. So the troops didnt come back. So why didn't Britain help out? just a weak excuse.

  • @nobby604 the us air-force left, i was in the navy, we stayed and did that till the local government wanted more for base rent then we left. Politically we could not justify paying for more in base rent when it needed to be rebuilt, and they were closing numerous bases in every state USA due to the end of the cold war. Mind you that was sovereign USA soil till carter gave them the base in the 70's so morally it was aslo a hard pill to swallow that they would gouge us for more.

  • @nobby604 USA was not in relations with the philipines yet. I am not sure about Britain though.

  • Beware pinoys GI's are here because they are up to something again, if they cant get anything from us they will dump theyre dirty waist on us just like what japan did.

  • Hi I lived at clark during the evacuation and seeing your video took me to a place I thought I would never see again.I actually went to school with the 2 boys you taped looking at the wagner year book.Living there was the best years of my life.Knowing it is all gone brings such sorrow to my heart. I wish I could go back. I keep in touch with alot of friends there and I will be sending them a link.Thank you so much for the memories coming to life.

  • I got there 3 days before the evacuation. As a matter of fact, my squadtron 8th MAPS asked what the hell you coming here as the PI frozen transfers. Hell I was non volunteer! LOL, nice to know before as I did not want to even be in the PI. As it was, very ruff as we evacuated the Navy and air force (mobile aerial port, we move people).

  • June 14, 1991, the day before the largest Pinatubo eruption was the date of the "U. S. Flag Day", where U.S. Veterans are encouraged to honor the U.S. Flag by burning the worn out and unserviceable U.S. Flag on this date.

  • Virgil my FEN brother: Salamat Po for a touching video. I worked at FEN 1984-90 and married a Filipina in 1972. I saw things here that made me cry. My wife worked at Grissom School before we met. I went back in 2000; saw the Hospital, Commisary, where FEN had been. It hurt so much. In May my wife will take me back to see how the base has changed as a Duty Free Zone. I fear I will see through it and see MY Clark Air Base. Godspeed my brother. Thank you again.

  • I was in angeles pampanga when this happened and my dad worked in clark air base, man really miss those days, this video if very touching, I wonder where and what will I be doing rigt now if that never happened.

  • what background music you used? tell me what collections. what album or whos the artists.. gimme gimme! thanks!

  • Thanks for your response on the Philippines Experience video series.

The music used in my features is from various production music libraries. It is similar to music used in commercials, movies or TV shows.

It is the only way to go if a producer plans to mass-market their work on DVD, and have it copyrighted. Stay tuned for more.

    Thanks again for your interest...

  • hello everyone... eventhough, you're all gone at clark.. we hope that you're all enjoying all the blessings and in your place after clark air base in your life and memories :) take care all :)

  • Thank you so very much for making these available to us. I was a d/w at Clark from 1982-1985. After watching all these, I was surprised at just how much I had forgotten all the little things...

You see, we adopted a daughter while we were there. She is now a mom herself. I am going to send her the link so she can see Clark AB/Angeles City and then share them with her own daughter. What you have provided is a gift to share and a link back to something that for some cannot ever be bridged again.

  • why insult...different cultures different people ?

we are all one....... all one ...

  • dkg444 ure such a racist just because fillipinos live hard that doesnt mean u have to make their lives worse

  • Let's enjoy this medium of mass communication and ourselves to the world. This venue has become a wonderful and natural outlet. Of course, some of us should work on our people skills, along with coping with ANGER-MANAGEMENT, learning to appreciate nature's humanly gifts around us. I can't help but think if dkg4444 expresses these anxieties toward expressed segments of our human race, he probably would not appreciate THIS AFRICAN AMERICAN as well. No sweat! I'm sure all is not lost...

  • dkg4444 is living proof that inbreeding is hazardous to your health. I am sure that he and TOTITZKI are brothers from the same mother just based on the ignorant comments posted by both of them. I guess he is trying to impress another family member by being such a rude pathetic person that has lived an abused lifestyle and this is the only release they have that allows them to feel manly.

  • Here you have the typical inbred mongrel with a wild fantasy. I am sure he was in a pasture with farm animals & is still confused today.

  • I am sure when you were filming all this back then that you had no idea you would make such a phenominal documentary. I would like to compliment you for such a good job, & thank you for posting it. Too bad there are some narrow minded people that still havent realized it doesnt matter where you come from, or your ethnic background.....WE ALL bleed red blood.

  • shut up bitch... filipinas aren't like what you think they are! give us some respect butthead!

  • It is remarkable how my video efforts have turned into something LESS THAN POSITIVE. But ignorants can be found everywhere.

I will never appologize for ignorance, or someone's lack of the abilty to communicate with real people and their desire to reach others on common issues.

These Philippines Experience images were produced for positive purposes. Let's all enjoy them in that regard.

  • what about the AMERISIAN they left?

  • Wrong site dude. You missed the "Rednecks raping goats" webpage by a bit.

  • Lol, a "good riddance" from a communist insurgent. No offense taken, we supported that bastard Marcos that left the economy a shambles when he took $45 Billion and went on the lam. Only after many years of a VAT tax have the Filipinos been able to dig themselves out. By 2010 they should be back in the black for a change.

  • I felt the I stopped living in dec 72 when I let. I did brin homw a pie of the Philippines with me to carry me through these yrs Lowell

  • god i miss clark so much! now is gone, i hate to cry and my heartaches everytime i watch this, thank you for the vids god bless!

  • Through history, it is quite interesting that all forms of calamity bring about change. Some of them are truly positive. Whether one refers to imperialism--EASTERN or WESTERN, during war, colonialism, or famine, history will tell and eventually show us, or those who follow, our trials, truths, failures and successes. Let's hope when final judgement comes, we are on the winning side.

  • Addendum-History is written only by the winner. Reality, The Fil government was in the process of asking us to leave for the sake of national soveriegnty, a volcano erupting on our base hastened the process a bit. Although with joint-support activities we will probably never let our friends there float alone.

  • It took a natural calamity to drive the imperialist away from the Philippines. Good riddance...

  • It's sad to see such a response of anti- American sentiment from a poster. Considering that both Americans and Filipinos were devastated in many ways by the eruption, you would think one would be able to rise above their own personal bitterness to see what is positive here. Perhaps Totitzki should look beyond the politics and see the human element..a mirror might be educational as well.

  • i think we were theones to have aided most in the evac of the people and also i kinda sorta non smartassly beleive that we are still there but yet im not too sure

  • Perhaps we should also look at business practices there as to why there is a communist insurgency in the first place (this includes MAJOR US companies). Only able to work by contract 6 months at a time, a minimum wage of about $5 US per DAY. A line 200 people long for a chance at one job opening at a fast food resturaunt. Their best medical staff working overseas so their families can eat. Here in the US we can't imagine those conditions that are commonplace there.

  • Yes, we are still there, in a joint support role. But assholes like in the Subic Rape Case (the Subic Six) make us look bad. The irony is if we were not there, Islamic extremists like Abu Sayef would be killing the communist insurgents also.

  • Another narrow minded moron that should be thankful he isnt speaking Spanish, Japanese or German for that matter. I am sure economically speaking he prays the US will return so he can move out of his cardboard box into a nipa hut.

  • Salamat po, Virgil. I'm retired USAF and spent over 7 years at clark on two tours. You really hit home with this footage.

  • Nice vids there Virgil.

I used to live in Angeles City for 7 years, back home now in Sweden for a year or two though. I really enjoyed to see how the base loked like before the erruption. Really interesting stuff !

    Please upload the rest of the material a s a p !

Tanxalot and all the best! - Mike
