God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe." But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
At John 13:16 Jesus states a fact: "The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him."
Earlier Jesus stated at John 5:36, "...the Father hath sent me."
Where was Jesus when He was "sent"? He was in heaven, as a spirit being, when he was sent. The FATHER (YHWH) was Jesus' God and as such, had the authority to SEND him.
It follows that God Almighty, the greatest sovereign of the universe would not have a superior above him. Would it be reasonable for ALMIGHTY GOD to say that HE has someone else to whom HE looks to as HIS god?
At Rev 3:12 The resurrected Jesus, occupying the highest position he will ever have, claims 4 times that he has a GOD.
Romans 15:6, 2 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 11:31, Ephesians 1:3, 1 Peter 1:3 all show that Jesus' Father was also His GOD.
Just because Apostate Christendom teaches lies about the bible does not of it's self prove that Islam is the truth. The Truth of the Bible is not negated by the lies of those who "claim" to follow it. "Eternal Damnation in Hell" is a is a lie that both Christendom and Islam teach. "Immortal Soul" are both taught by Christendom and Islam...both are lies. Islam and Christendom are equal partners to lies.
@usedbrain "who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." Philippians 2:6-8
I sincerely believe that virtually no Muslim that watches this is genuinely interested in knowing what Christians truly believe. You attack all sorts of ideas except what the Bible actually teaches.
@3016678100 # 1 there are no records in the bible or in any book of a statement where Jesus plainly asserted that he is god. #2 nor are there records of Jesus explaining what type of god he is or attempting to prove that he is god.
@kidcanman I assume your idea of "plainly" is saying "I am God," or "Worship me." Jesus didn't say those exact words, but he DID plainly say it. For instance, Jesus repeatedly identied himself with the same words that Yahweh used to identify himself in the Old Testament. There's a reason that Muslims in general reject the New Testament, and that's because it clearly contradicts the Qu'ran, and the identity of Jesus is one of those glaring differences.
@3016678100 Jesus identified himself "with the same words"? That would be plain if Jesus explained "why" he used "the same words".Do you think God is stupid or something? You think god plays guessing games. You think god would be amongst us for that long with the intention of us worshiping him and not 1 time say, "I am god" or "worship me if you want to go to heaven" plainly? It's stupidity to suggest that he would simply "use the same words" and never make it clear that he is god.
@kidcanman Notice that I said that was one instance. If you read the NT without bias and look at the references Jesus makes, you'll see there are so many things Jesus says and does that make his identity plain. And besides that, Christians don't believe that God took on human flesh and dwelt among us so that we would worship Him in that form. We believe He took on human flesh to offer up a perfect sacrifice on our behalf so that we could be forgiven of sins.
@3016678100 i noticed that you did not refute my rebuttal of your example; that's because I'm right. Please cite your best example of where Jesus plainly suggested that he is whoever you claim that he is. "there are so many things Jesus says...'". and yet not 1 of those things is a plain statement of who you say he is or why you say he came. All of those things are statements that somebody has to interpreted in order to make him say something. if there is a plain statement; cite it.
@kidcanman You might also notice that this is just a YouTube comment section. It's not exactly some serious forum for debate. If you really want to have a conversation with me about this, no problem. I'll answer your question, but I have my day to attend to for now.
@3016678100 i work 10hr days (I'm an insurance inspector) but so what? it only takes me 5 minutes to respond to you. i'm not sure why it should be too time consuming for you to cite one single quote. oooh yeaah...that's right...because there are no examples of jesus plainly stating that he is devine. no wonder you responded twice and yet you didn't give an example.
On the other hand, you find Jalal, who is not a native english speaker, is actually more detailed in providing straight forward common sense responses backed with biblical text.
Poor James White is very arrogant and delusional. If you notice in most of his comments &demeanor, he tries to use logic to criticize those critics of the obvious textual problems in the bible. He does so by focussing on the elements of logic, not the actual problems in the biblical text. But as soon as he gets into the verses in the bible, he quickly sounds like the rest of the emotionally charged bible thumpers. Very weak!. That's why he disabled the comments on his videos!Take it or leave it!
I don't blame him. In order for a mind to accept the contradictions in the bible, you must confuse terms. Most of his energy is focused on that alone, not the actual text. I find him to be a dishonest and arrogant individual. His main problem is that he is trying to defend the absurd.
"god" doesnt need none of these fools. i dont think "god" writes books. i always see someguy saying " god told him this and that. y wouldnt god speak in a language we all can understand? how can humans teach "god"?
No dear Brother, it is Satan who is the genious, he is the one that has taken the focus of the Father of our Lord and Saviour, Gods Son does not admire Satans handy work.
Numbers was written quite a long time before the incarnation....so yeah. And you make a good point from John. There was a heresy in the early church which consisted of people believing Christ was God but wasnt really a man. Its funny that now the heresy is reversed...many people will say he was a man, but not God. Neither of those verses disproves Christs deity.
Doesnt matter how long ago it was written, it makes it clear God is not a man. And John 8:40 is clear, jesus is a man. That clearly disproves the deity of Jesus. But if you want to believe your God is just a man, thats on you.
@MrIslamAnswersback It does not seem like you understand what Christianity believes. "But if you want to believe your God is just a man, thats on you." This is a misrepresentation of Christianity. We do not believe that "God is just a man." Jesus has two natures: God and man. People worship him and he did not stop them. He said he was the I AM. I agree God is not a man but a spirit. When the Old testament was written the word had not taken on flesh yet.
@waterplo12 you dont seem to understand. To say God is even part man is still a problem. God only has one nature and thats the Nature of being God most high and almighty. Jesus said he was a man only (john 8:40). 1Timothy 2:5 says Jesus is a man. There is no I AM, thats a mistranslation of Exodus 3:14 which really says "I am the one being' . Jesus never said I am the one being. Plus jesus clearly said the Father is greater than him-John 14:28. Surely God would not say another is greater than him
@MrIslamAnswersback "To say God is even part man is still a problem. God only has one nature and thats the Nature of being God most high and almighty." These are your presuppositions and limits the power and glory of God. The Bible is pretty clear that Jesus has two natures. Now when we have God be an exulted man like Mormonism then we have a problem and can reject that religion.
@waterplo12 "There is no I AM, thats a mistranslation of Exodus 3:14 which really says "I am the one being'." This is an assertion and you give no evidence to think that is what Exodus 3:14 is saying. Plus it is clear that the Pharisees knew what Jesus was claiming when they took up stones to stone Jesus for blasphemy. "Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him." Matthew 28:9. Jesus accepted the worship and did not try to stop it.
@MrIslam "Plus jesus clearly said the Father is greater than him-John 14:28. Surely God would not say another is greater than him."Who, being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!" Philippians 2:6-8
@MrIslam "To know Christ truly is to know the Trinity, for God has not revealed himself in such a way as to allow us to have true and balanced knowledge of the Father outside of suck knowledge of the Son, all of which comes to us through the Spirit," James White.
@MrIslam ""I and the Father are one."The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?"The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God." John:10:30-33. Here we see that the Pharisees knew that Jesus was claming to be God. The most important part is, " You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."
@MrIslam "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6. "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form" Col 2:8-9.
@MrIslam. Those are a few examples of verses supporting the deity of God. Also in Mark 2:5-12 Jesus forgives sins and only God can forgive sins (verse 7). "But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--He said to the paralytic, "I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home." Mark 2:10-11.
@waterplo12 John 8:40 "But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn't do this." Jesus HEARD from God. Also Jesus didn't know when the judgment day was. I thought God knew everything? Oh but he wasn't God in his human form? Of course he wasn't, he was only a man... a great prophet. Read the Qur'an brother, it's not as bad as you think, don't belive the media or the extremists. Everything will become much logical and clearer insha'Allah.
@urbanguru This is an old thread but after reviewing quickly I see that you are not responding to what I presented but bring up your own belief. You did not respond to the verses I gave above. 2nd to what you posted about Jesus hearing from God I responded to this above and will responding quickly by saying Philippians 2:6-8. Then you act as if I do not think of Islam as the truth because of the media and extremist which is false. God Bless!
So, if John 3:16 does not mean Only begotten son" then the Christians have been lying and misleading people for hundreds of years. And it's funny how the present scholars distance themselves from their predecessors as though they were bad christians but they are not.
