This wasn't homemade, this was black powder from Estes rocket motors. I don't know what the sparks are from, but it will happen with any type of black powder in almost any device where pressure is involved. Something to do with the pressure I suppose.
Nope, black powder all the way. The same bomb made with flash is a lot louder, but very impractical. Using black powder, it's loud enough to make your ears ring but not enough to shake your neighbor's house...
how did you make your bp becuase when it explodes it shoots huge sparks everywhere

I love this black powder (it's the stuff in my test video). It's so powerful I don't even need to tape the polumna for it to be loud.
